Review for /wrangler riggs workwear mens utility

Price was 28. I've only had them for a few weeks but they seem to be tough and are holding up well to the daily wear and tear of construction work. The fit was good and the delivery was fast. I would recommend these.

Very rugged. A bit heavy, and thick for summer wear. Suited more for rough working conditions. Would especially be suited for outdoor work in cooler weather conditions. Definitely worth the price. Love these jeans. Great for motorcycle riding. Double ply of denim on front of legs acts almost like built in chaps. -. Mathis

  • I work in a industrial environment, these are the best pants ive ever owed. I put them through hell and they hold up.
  • Great quality. The knee area is ideal for men who work on their knees a lot in a laborious job. Only complaint is that they were much longer than expected.
  • Fair to good product. Pockets aren't as useful as i thought; they're a little small.
  • Fit in waist and length but the legs were much too large. Had to return.
  • I bought 4 pairs of these that lasted 2 years before developing rips in the knees. The next 4 pairs i bought tore within 5 months doing the same job. They were noticeably lighter weight denim than the first ones.

Much better price then the similar carhartt's that i usually buy. They seem to last just as long as the carhartt's.

(0) Question: Which color of the pants is lighter the blue or antique indigo ( it is hard to see in the pictures)

(2) Question: Will side pockets fit a larger cell phone i. e. galaxy 5?

Wrangler RIGGS WORKWEAR Men's Ranger Pant

Really durable. Purchased as gift for a relative that does stocking, receiving, and loading, at a large combo deparment/ grocery store. These have plenty of pockets for tools, wallet, keys, etc. Wash well, only a little fading over a year. They may fit a little snug, but i estimated the correct size for my relative. He just stated his first pair (40x34) was tighter than he expected for a size 40, but still wearable as size 40. He has no complaints. I think his first set lasted over a year or more of heavy use and at least 2 heavy cotton-wash & dry cycles every week for a year. Reserving the fifth star if the brand exceeds all expectations and lasts two years with heavy use rather than one year.

Riggs workwear ranger pants are ready for any job. One of our most popular work pants. Roomy side cargo pockets with flaps and concealed snaps hold lots of stuff.

Wrangler Riggs Workwear Men's Ranger Pant (wra3w060br) FAQ.

Wranglers - fit nice, no zippered pocket. Carhart, a little looser fit (which for some might mean better fit, i am old and tighter pants on a fit body were the fashion then . And they were not hanging on the knees! ). Carhart has zipper . But velcro pockets for the others . Wrangler has snaps of good quality. I think the perfect pant would have at least one zippered pocket and the rest with snaps. However, they are hardy, comfortable, and good lookingl the 4 is only because of the velcro. . One word of caution if going from jeans to cargo pants . Check the pockets . Before laundry . All gazillion of them, carefully. If you use all the pockets . Which i do to be organized . It is easy to forget to take something out. My pocket knife is very clean! -Notice from C. Megan, Louisiana

From the perspective of a machinist, i'd say these pants are rugged, well designed, fancy enough for interaction with the upper end self entitled, and reasonably priced comparatively speaking. A little tight in the hips in the beginning with some bagginess below that. Long in the waist, as well. Got lots of compliments from the gals and the guys? at work. Nice accents here and there that make the pants seem like they are built for the long haul but the failure points will probably be in the seat or crotch or somewhere like that.

- A. WidmerThis is the second pair of riggs workwear by wrangler (in slate and loden) pants i have purchased for my guy. He's a land surveyor and works outside every day. He's also a very active outdoors-man. Hiking, camping, climbing, shooting, etc. For reference, he is 6ft 3in, slim build. Purchased these in 32wx34l and both fit the same. My guy loves all of the pockets on these pants. Prior to discovering these pants, we regularly purchased him "carhartt men's washed duck work dungaree utility pant", which he really liked also, but these pants have more pockets and seem slightly sturdier. They are reinforced at the knees and around the tops of pockets so that he can hang his tape measure, hammer, or whatever other manly piece of equipment he can get his hands on. They were quite stiff when we first received them but have softened up over a few weeks of wash & wear. My only issues with these is consistency in the manufacturing. The loden pair had 5 belt loops, while the slate pair had 7. We have sewn the 2 missing belt loops on the back of the loden pair so that they fall comfortably with a belt on them. As long as the pants come with all 7 belt loops, i have one happy guy!

First, these pants run small in the waist. I wear a 34" waist, and a 34" in these pants was too tight. Upped to 36", and the fit is better. . The material feels a bit thick, that is, it's kinda stiff. It feels very sturdy and tough. The double panel knees should add quite a bit of toughness, too. I'd either prefer not to have the leather on the right pocket at all, or have it on the left, as i carry my knife in the left pocket. . I don't work outside or doing manual tasks, so i'd suspect these pants will hold up very well for me. Time will tell.

H. Joanna, Alaska says

I work as a welder, and i first bought a pair of these for my welding classes. The fit is good, although my normal size is a bit snug. They are heavy, as they have a double layer of fabric on the front. Plenty of room to move around, though, without feeling like i'm going to rip the crotch. One of the issues i have is that there are buttons on the inside of the pants that dig when wearing a belt and are uncomfortable. The other issue is that the double layer of denim doesn't go down far enough, so as a result all of my pants have holes burned in them at the ankle area from welding sparks. Other than that, i recommend these for quality work wear.

D. Erin, Luton

Fit like grown up pants should. None of this fits slightly below the waist bs. More comfortable than dickies.

W. Marguerite, Cumbria says

Great company to work with. Had to return one pair for size reasons and they were right on it. Received the new pair in record time. Great quality jeans. Very sturdy and the pockets work great.

O. Jarvis, Delaware

Not much styling and cut a bit small compared to my wrangler carpenter jeans, but seems to be well made with good reinforcements, (almost too) deep front pockets, and a tool pocket on each side in addition to the hammer loop on the right leg (most jeans put it on the left). . It it wears well in hard work, i'll be satisfied. But there's nothing about the jeans which would likely make me a loyal riggs customer, particularly the fact that the belt loop on the right hip is missing.

J. Cortney, New Brunswick says

Excellent quality jeans. These are the only jeans my husband doesn't destroy within a month on his carpenter jobs. Very hard wearing. Lasts longer than carhartt and levi i've purchased for him in the past.

. Rowe, North Dakota

These will stand the test of time. They look better every wash . My hubby says they keep him warm and are his most comfortable work pants . Double knee material helps also. Will definitely purchase again.

F. Alba, Essex says

It's a little tighter around the waist than the dickies jeans i have in the same size, but they still fit. They're very well made.

. Gladys, Brandenburg

The best. Work jeans i have bought in the past few years. They are comfortable and tough at a great price!

X. Guest, Havering says

The best work pants available at a reasonable price. You can insert a foam knee pad into the double knee cleanoutcleanout, which helps if you are walking a lot, but must kneel or crawl often. I am an electrician, i've tried dozens of work pants, these are the best choice, they're comfortable, durable, and the pockets work well for my "standard" hand tools.

A. Nancy, Slough

So far so good. Fit well, sturdy, hopefully will last awhile. I had some wrangler cargo jeans that split at the knees after less than 6 months of semi regular wear. Fit it good and they don't slide down like lots of other jeans. Pockets are nice and deep. Wish the leg pockets were larger though.

B. Stacey, Sutton says

Excellent quality, just ordered another pair

Y. Hurst, Arkansas says

These are great work pants, they are a little long on me but nothing my tailor took care of a little hem work. Nice and heavy will last a long time.

S. Susana, Indiana

Excellent pair of jeans. I never have purchased a pair of wrangler jeans that didn t look good.

. Debra, Doncaster says

I like everything the bouble layered knee are is awsome but next time im going to get a size bigger

V. Rose, Rhone-Alpes

My son was wearing out and tearing his work jeans. The extra panel is like having two pairs of jeans with out a lot of extra weight or stiffness. These have become his new favorites!

R. Delgado, British Columbia says

I wear out the knees in my jeans from yard work, etc. The riggs wrangler utility jeans with the extra layer of denim on the front of the pant legs should result in a longer wearing jean. I've been buying riggs work jeans for many years and have been happy with their fit and durability. However, recently a few pair (25% - 50%) have had the waist button in the wrong. Place (1/4 to 1/2 inch off) making it hard to zip the jeans up with the waist button buttoned. I have found it easier to remove the original button (drill it out) and install a new metal button (jean button kit from online store) then to return the jean and have a 50% chance of the new jean having the same problem. This procedure is a bother/pain but after installing a new button in the correct location i'm happier with the riggs jeans that any other brand i've tried.

. Patton, Prince Edward Island

Good pants for the price. One issue was that the belt loops are sewed on irregularly. (not at the same location from one side to the other. ) they are slightly less heavy than carharts, that are more expensive, however, they still are very heavy. I actually prefer the weight of these. One other thing i like about these over carharts is that they did not use metal rivets at the seams lower in the leg (that holds the extra leg piece on). The metal rivets on the carharts get cold. These do not have that problem. They do have metal rivets on the upper section, but your underwear will keep you from feeling them. If you wear long-johns, then this will not be an issue for the carharts.

Q. Suzanne, Australian Capital Territory says

I adore these pants. They were stiff out of the box, but one wash and they relaxed into that broken-in feel. The pockets are deep enough for my wallet-phone combo (tho the advertised phone pocket on the right thigh doesn t suit my oversized needs) and i ve already made great use of the knee reinforcement. Basically it s exactly what i needed.

P. Linda, Maine

Only thing i didnt like are the buttons in waist area, other than that the jeans are holding up well for me.

I. Brenda, Sachsen-Anhalt says

My husband loves these pants. He is a carpenter and finds them comfortable and durable. He is 6'4" and has a hard time finding pants that fit right and these have been great. They are a little baggier than most carpenter jeans, the next pair we will probably size down in the waist.

L. Pearce, Nevada

Great trousers lots of strong stitching, really durable and tough for a work environment, love the reinforced crotch area and thigh areas (this is the reason i bought them, havent seen any other manufacturer do this). But their are just very baggy. Tape holder is a good addition and hook for hammer etc. Should get years out of them , just would like them a bit better fitting!

T. Adrienne, Haringey says

Comfortable fit that is standing up to (and passing) the durability of his carharts and at a reasonable price.

U. Palmer, Schleswig-Holstein

I bought these, for my husband as they have become my "go to" brand; for him, through the years. I have - overall - bought 3 to 4 pairs of these, for him, through the years (like i already said). This pair is made a bit different, as they have an extra layer - of the thick denim fabric - sewn over the knee and shin areas. We were just as happy, with this pair - even with the different styling. They are still the very well made jeans, that they have always been - with the nice thick, quality denim fabric. My husband does a lot, around the house and these jeans still last a long, long time; through the yard work, sprinkler system work, car work, etc. They also hold up, through many washings. You definitely get your money's worth! i won't buy him anything else, when it comes to jeans!

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

U. Nees, Minnesota says

These are good pants. Sturdy well put together. These jeans are not the kind that fit and wear like a dream though. Real straight and baggy. Maybe just a bit to much fabric in the legs for my personal likings. Look a little bit o. S. Gangsta. 1995. The leather patch is to thick for my benchmade knife to clip over without bending it up. I honestly don't need a serious leather patch for a tape measure.

H. Guest, West Virginia

Very comfortable and with the double knees, very rugged. On the down side, the tool pockets are too shallow and won't hold anything longer than a utility knife. This is a shortcoming i've found in most work pants.

D. Julie, Bradford says

Ordered 2 pairs, 1 pair has some foreign object sewn in between the 2 layers on front on the leg. The other had a small hole in the leg i didn't notice till almost to work. Other then that they are great. Recommended anyone else if you buy this product look at over very close before you wash and wear.

. Angela, Norfolk

The pants are well made and true to size. The gusseted crotch does work well when you crotch down however, the extra seams for the gusset rubbed my inner thighs almost raw because of the extra material. They would probably be fine if you wear boxers but i'm a brief kinda guy.

. Melissa, Maryland says

The pants look to be well made and heavy but the sizing is way off. They are supposed to be a relaxed fit but fit as if they are a regular fit and a size smaller.

P. Lisa, Texas

Way too heavy for me, i live in a warm climate. I guess you can't have the extra durability without the extra weight!

E. Franklin, Stockton-on-Tees says

I'm a country boy and an electrician, i'm tough on jeans. I gave these a try after years of having carhartt loggers jeans only last 3-6 months before they tore in the crotch, thigh, or ass. When i got the first pair of these they felt much thicker, better stitching and are cut to hug the waist a little tighter. I actually think the tighter waist helps them hold up. I climb, kneel, squat and stoop regularly. When your jeans fall down around around your ass it puts more pressure on the areas where the carhartts failed. These jeans seem to be holding up well after a few months. The reason for 3 stars is because when i ordered a second pair they were missing the left utility pocket. This is no good since that is where i typically keep my phone (it doesn't fit in the right one). Also, i collected a baseball size wad of thread from nearly every seam. I probably should've sent them back. Still a good jean, just wish they were more consistent.

K. Miller, Illinois

Great fit around the waist and length but huge in the legs. Fit like old school parachute pants

R. Isabel, Rutland says

I bought these size 34x34 wore them all day cutting firewood they felt a little off, got home threw them in the washer. Next time i put them on took a closer look they didn't hang right, i measured them one leg inseam was 34" and the other was 35" bad quality control from mexico. Brought them to the cleaners they confirmed my findings and fixed the problem cost $15 half the price of the jeans, shame on me, shame on wrangler!

I. Peggy, Southwark

Ordered the exact same size as before, they fit one size smaller, of course my wife washed them so i couldn't send them back. Wasted money

N. Helen, Worcestershire says

Baggy but comfy, mine has some strange material in the right leg, maybe these are defects for the price.

J. Valdez, Michigan

When i bought these jeans in 2011, they were great. They looked good and have held up amazingly well under rough use over time. . In early 2012 i bought two more pairs, expecting the same quality. But this time the buttons inside the waist band that suspenders hook to were missing in one pair and were poorly aligned in the other pair. And even though both pairs were the same size, one pair fit as though they were a size smaller than the other. I hope the quality issues with my most recent purchase were a fluke and not a trend.

Z. Susan, York says

Very nice quality and i have no doubts it will hold up, but the fit was quite a bit larger than i expected, especially the pant legs. A little extra room around the waist is fine as that can be taken up with a belt, however, the pants legs are seem rather larger than intended.

X. Carolyn, Pennsylvania

Could be better constructed but all in all i got what i was looking for.

G. Irene, New Mexico says

My son really liked these pants except that it would be nice if they came in a youth size or even slim fit. He's 6 ft and only weighs 135 so the legs where huge! they fit a man but not a gangly young man!

B. Walsh, Prince Edward Island

Very baggy jeans. Definitely won't be wearing these to the job site however i'll keep them to do yard work because they are very durable. Fyi i'm 6'3" 215 lbs.

T. Taylor, Haute-Normandie says

Good quality but the hammer loop and pockets seem to be on the opposite side as compared to other brands. There are buttons on the inside of the waist for suspenders that i was not expecting but i was able to cut them right out

C. Cathy, Durham

Bought these for my husband who goes through jeans on a regular basis. He is 6'3" and 215. I ordered 36 x 34 and he probably could have used a 34 waist as they relax with wear. Also, they are too long in the leg and the crotch. Big, wide legs and really wide on a guy that is tall and lean. But if you need more than enough room to move than these are the jeans. They are made of heavy material and we'll see how they last-he usually wears out the knees first so the reinforced knees will help.

V. Parker, Milton Keynes says

After 7 washing's , the aria next to the fly came apart . Very disappointed!

Q. Rebecca, Barnet

Very, very uncomfortable. Definitely going back to dickies double knee carpenters jeans.

A. Emma, Rotherham says

The waist and length are almost true to size. Although the the relaxed fit part feels more like i'm wearing baggy pants. I have at least 3 inches of extra room in the leg and thigh. Keep in mind i am 6'5" and 300 lbs.

. Juliana, Northwest Territries

First off they were way to small for my waist, i wear a size 34x32, i figured that they would shrink once i washed them a few times, the pair i ordered were a size 36x32, i didn't send them back which was my mistake. After wearing the pants 5 times to work they toar near the back pocket, i'm starting to wonder if these are factory seconds!

O. Nancy, North Somerset says

Make sure to check the fit before hand. It appears that these jeans can be mislabeled. The labeled 34 inch inseam that i received measures 32 inches.

F. Benton, Newham

These jeans fit so loose they look like the old jenko jeans make me feel like a stupid clown when i wear them.

. Stacey, Poitou-Charentes says

Great pair of work pants just ran bigger than expected. I ordered a size 34 waist 30 length. The reviews said they fit true to size but the pair i got are baggy and the waist fits like a size 36. Other than that nice pair of work pants.

Y. Sharon, Tower Hamlets

I purchased two pair and i tried both pair on for fitting. They both fit as expected but when i bent down the first pair ripped down the side. I replaced the defective pair and while wearing the other pair for two days. The second pair also ripped down the side. I'm totally bummed out because i wear this brand for metal working and never had a problem in the past. I did notice the downgrade in quality of materials when these paints arrived. Wrangler must be trying to cut costs and thus producing a poor quality product. I will switch to carhartt most likely. :-(

L. Courtney, New Mexico says

Was excited about 36 inseam. After getting them and wearing them then washing they shrunk up and are now the length of 34 inseam and look like i am prepared for a flood. I would not recommend to anyone wanting the 36 inseam.
