Timberland Pro Men’s 6 Pit Boss Steel Toe (33034) 1241

Review for /timberland pro mens boss steel

Price was 91. Awesome work boot. 2. 5 years of use in the maintenance industry and the only thing that recently broke was a shoe lace. They are a bit narrow at the toes, so if you have an above average foot width, the standard size will probably not be too comfortable. No problems at the heel with mine as some have mentioned. I could see how there is if you don't back your foot into the boot and tie it properly. So just wear them right and these will last you. Excellent bang for the buck. Highly recommend.

These are not the most comfortable boots i have worn. By a considerable margin. However, these boots have saved my feet from injury on numerable occasions. The boots have also proven durable. My relatives and friends are now quite certain my feet have permanently meshed with the boots, since i wear them almost every day of the year. This is the third. Fourth pair i have purchased in the last. 12 years(? ). I will be purchasing at least one more pair for future use, since it is now obvious these boots are more like a. Life companion. Timberland pro men's 6 pit boss steel toe Review (33034)

I have owned a few pairs of timberland pro soft toes and they are very comfortable. So i decided to try a steel toe version because my job requires them. I have wide feet near the toe joints so i always get wide sized boots. Unfortunately the steel toe wasn't wide enough which caused my toes to pinch leading to discomfort over time. If these came in a double wide size, i would reorder them immediately. But the main reason i returned these particular boots was because of the plastic part that sits behind the heel. The top outer edge of this part would sit under my ankle bone and jam into it when walking, and constantly scrape throughout the day. By the end of the day the area around my ankle bone was bruised and swollen and so tender that i had to unlace the boots completely. I will never know if it was just a defect in these boots because they don't have a wide enough size for me to reorder. -C. Guest

  • These are my second pair of steel toe boots. The first pair being the one i got from the navy during basics. The pitboss off the bat is a lot more comfortable than the one i received in basics. It only took me 12hrs a day for 3 days of wearing them to break them in. The first day i put about 20, 0000 steps on them according to my fitbit and every day there after 15, 000 plus steps. It didn't feel bad but definitely hurt the first day compare to wearing my old work shoes, which were the timberland white ledge. I noticed the small stabbing feeling people were talking about, but i think it's mainly due to the way you walk and insert you have. Once i took out the normal timberland inserts and replaced them with superfeet green i had no issues with them in regard to comfort. I usually wear a size 8 but when it comes to timberland i always buy a half size down. I would recommend these because they didn't take two weeks to break in and they're mighty comfortable.
  • I work for the 1 food service distribution company in america. 2 things i'm very picky about, my gloves and my boots. Boots have to be comfortable. They have to be slip resistant and the soles have to be reasonably long wearing. These boots fit the bill perfectly. The ramp i run up & down on all day has teeth that would destroy most boots in short order. The company will reimburse drivers once a year up to $100 for authorized footwear & that's exactly how long the soles will last on these boots, plus the affordable price under the allowed amount make this purchase a no brainer. My latest purchase makes them the 5th pair i've owned, will plan on continuing to purchase as long as they're being produced.
  • Left boot was defective. Sole was maligned with leather body. Returned. Cant decide if i want to try the timberlands again. I expected better quality control from the brand, especially considering that this is their "pro" line.
  • These boots look great and that's where it ended for me. They have a large seem right on the back of the heel that made them too painful to wear, i gave my first set 3 weeks of use before i decided they weren't going to get any better with break in. I contacted timberland and they sent me a replacement pair after supplying them with picture proof and they decided that the boots were indeed defective. As soon as i received the new pair they had the same obvious issue as soon as i tried them on, one boot was much more obvious than the other. I contacted them again and at this point wanted a refund. They refused any kind of refund and would only send one more pair out. A good friend of mine had the same issue so i had no interest in trying a 3rd pair. Luckily online store happily accepted a return and now i'll be searching for a good pair of work boots again. Should have went straight to online store with the first set but they were used for 3 weeks already. Thank you timberland for giving me a new set to return to online store at least!
  • Been wearing them in the construction/industrial setting for four days- 12 hour days. The material used for the insides of the boot rubs the side of my ankles and my heels raw. I have to use gauze along with long soccer socks to avoid irritation to the point of bleeding. Good work boots but could use some improvements on the comfort side.

mens pit boss steel Timberland PRO Men's 6" Pit Boss Steel Toe (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

The pit boss is everything a work boot should be: safe, tough and really comfortable. First off, the steel toe construction meets ansi safety standards and offers a roomier toe box than other boots. This means no foot pain even after long hours of hard work. You've also go an unsurpassed traction-grip for working on wet or slippery surfaces and electronic hazard protection to keep you safe from open circuits. On the comfort front, a removable sock liner proves blisters don't have to go hand-in-hand with hard work. And finally, these boots aren't anything if they aren't tough. Go ahead, just try and wear them out.

I love the boots. This is my second pair and the first pair lasted over 10 years of doing various trade work from climbing roofs and attics for hvac and electrical work or going subfloor for plumbing to anything construction i. E. Framing to being outdoors landscaping etc. The polyurethane midsole just one day started to break apart after starting to shovel into a patch of hardpan. Like i said it took over 10 years before that happened so i am just grateful the style is still popular and available. I personally hate finding something great that naturally just wears down over time and is unavoidable but when you look for a direct or close replacement, the craftsmanship and quality is just crap. The shortcuts manufacturers use nowadays to cut corners of cost seriously make for cheap and lousy version of a replacement.

Click to see NoticeTimberland Pro Men's 6 Pit Boss Steel Toe (33034)"I work at a trash burning plant, our boots get covered in ash daily. The ash dries most boots out making them too tight, stiff and eventually crack. Many boots don't last 6 months. I've tried several other quality boots over the last 13 years and none of them hold up for even half as long as these. Almost everyone at my job uses only these boots and i tell all new employees not to waste their time with anything else. They are also unbelievably comfortable, right out of the box. No break in needed. I have never had a lace hook break off either, even with kevlar laces. Other boots i use with kevlar laces (because they hold up to the ash) the hooks eventually break off. These boots also have a nice tread that holds up very well, and that don't trap ash or mud like so many other boots. These boots also have support in the middle of the sole which means that the sole will not put pressure on the arch of your foot when walking up ladders. . I have a wide foot, size 13 4e. I buy size 13 normal width for these boots and never get chafed by the sides of the steel toe like many other boots i have tried. . This boot is also a great all around work boot, i have a pair that i wear at home that is several years old with no significant wear on it."

(2) Question: How can i condition these regularly? is the leather chrome tanned or oil tanned?

Still breaking in. I have custom orthotics, but the ball of my feet really hurt. Without inserts they feel roomy. I ordered the timberland pro anit fatigue insole and hope that will make boot even more comfortable. I also treated with mink oil as i plan to use as a general work boot. I find the boots to be heavier than i expected. I only give four stars as i have had boot long enough to judge durability. I will update after several months.

Great boots. Didn't know how badly i needed new boots till i bought these. I am on my feet all day in a shop. After a fourteen hour day i'm still tired but my back and my feet aren't screaming at me to go home. Will definitely be buying another pair. I have had these now for over six months. -Notice from . Comfortable, rugged and they look great too. Probably the most expensive shoes i have ever purchased but have been worth the money. I recommend and wouldn't purchase again.

- B. GinaBought these for my husband to wear for work in a factory. He has previously bought cheaper boots from retail stores. After seeing these in a local sears, my husband was disappointed they did not carry his size. He turned to online store knowing they would most likely carry them. They arrived exactly on the estimated date. He has been wearing them for about a month now, and said the more he wears them the more he loves them. They were completely worth the price. They fit as expected, which is important when ordering online without trying them on first. Overall, we would definitely order these again when he is in need of new boots

My favorite work boots. I bought a second pair so i can alternate. Comfortable, breathable it seems as even after wearing them all day feet aren t feeling like i have to get these things off. Like some workboots have felt on me. Try them!

Timberland PRO Men's Anti-Fatigue Technology Replacement Insole

Comfortable insoles. I installed these in carhart boots the minute i received them. They are much thicket and conform to the door. They provide good cushion and support. So far holding up really well to 3 months of hard daily abuse.

The timberland pro anti-fatigue technology insoles are very unique because they have an inverted cone design that is lightweight and supportive. They feature a superior shock absorption and energy return. These insoles are anatomically contoured to cradle the foot to provide maximum comfort and support. The dynamic arch design adapts to all foot shapes for maximum support and comfort.

Timberland Pro Men's Anti-fatigue Technology Replacement Insole (91621) FAQ.

I bought these to fit florsheim hugo boots, which are styled somewhat narrow, and i was worried the inserts would not fit. However this wasn't a problem as you can cut with regular scissors to the exact size you need. I tried them a few days and liked the feel better than the original inserts in my boots. The noticeable cushioning keeps my feet more rested at the end of the day, and the arch support relieves the pain i often get from that area as well. Overall i am very satisfied and will buy again for other pair of boots i own! -Notice from G. Suzanne, Telford and Wrekin

Buy a size smaller otherwise it will be too large. Excellent cushion that stays in good condition for a long time. Not too thick either. Definitely recommend.

- J. ShirleyI bought a brand new pair of timberland boot for the winter and after a weak of wearing them (which is more than enough time to break them in) my feet would continuously ache even after removing the boots. I took out the insoles which came with the boot and was shocked to see just how paper thin they were and utterly useless the insoles which the boot came with were. Probably a marketing scheme to motive the buyers to buy even more product! well, it worked. I bought these and my feet have been thanking me everyday since then. They wear like a five star, but they have a four star price.

My son loves them. Usually feet hurt by noon and looking forward to quitting time. Now feet don't hurt at all at the end of the day.

The F.A.Q. for Timberland Pro Men's 6 Pit Boss Steel Toe (33034)

I've been wearing these boots for 7 months now. For the first week they hurt around my ankles but i loosened up the boot strings until they got broke in, took about a week. Now they are so comfortable and there is a bit of wear on the soles, but i think they will last at least a year if not longer. I am a truck driver, in different environments constantly throughout the day (construction sites, factories, etc. ) rain, snow, mud and these boots are holding up like a champ. I really like these boots and i recommend them.

This is my 5th pair of these boots, i buy a new pair about every year. These pit boss timb pro's are my money makers. They are simply a rugged and comforitable long lasting bad a$ work boot. I work in an industrial environment always indoors working on concrete, always soaked in hydraulic/gear oil on a regular basis they still hold up like champions, haven't had a blowout yet. I refuse to buy another boot. These things are the blue collar hard working mans bread and butter.

Best timberland pro men's 6 pit boss steel toe (33034) in review

Definitely tight in the toes which had me very worried for the first 5 days but the padding self corrected and they fit fine. Tough on my feet when i walk on concrete floors all day. I upgraded the insoles by buying some sturdy foam flip flops for $2, cutting them to size and belt sanding them for appropriate thickness. Not a normal thing to do but the thick foam sure beats the stick insoles that came with these boots or those $15 "work" insoles at the store. Anything to save my heels when i'm tromping around on unforgiving concrete for 10 hours a day.

G. Angelica, Wigan says

Kind of narrow. I don't usually need a wide shoe but i reordered a larger width and it fits better. I love the speed laces. Nothing's better after a long day on your feet, to come home and swiftly pop your boots off. They aren't terribly comfortable. I wear insoles always but it still doesn't cover up the hard soles of these boots. That being said, these feel indestructible. I feel like i can kick through a wall with these bad boys. These boots look nice and feel like they will last a very long time. All around, not a bad boot just a little stiff.

E. Hayward, Florida

This is one well built boot top quality the only reason i didn't give five stars was it fit to small for me i have been size 12 in shoes and boot since well allways long story short ordered a size 12 steel toe and they were just a bit to tight and i sent them back no size 12 1/2 so i was really sad to not be able to own a pair they were very well crafted do yourself a favor try these boots on local to ensure fit

V. Marguerite, Doncaster says

Works great for construction site visits and volunteering shifts once a month, things like that. Not super comfortable that i would want to wear them every day but works great and looks professional for what i need it for.

R. Olga, Picardie

For like a glove. Comfortable and warm so far this winter. Great boot for the nw. Subject to boiler ash and landfill mud daily. Did require short break in period. One of the lace hooks did separate. Remedied the issue with a dab of 5 min epoxy. Would buy again regardless of issue.

L. Kathlene, Mississippi says

I am so pleased with these boots. I use them riding my motorcycle (suzuki c 50 boulevard) and it is a very well built boot that gives me the protection i need against the elements. They are super comfortable and really no -break in time. I usually wear a size 9 d but i took a chance and purchased the 9. 5 e. With my thick socks it fits perfectly. I will purchase another set but in black to match my riding suit. Very well made.

D. Fabian, Rhode Island

For the last 4 years, i bought a pair of the timberland pro mens pit boss steel toe boots for work. I've bought less expensive boots as well as other, more expensive, but these give the best fit and performance in a harsh environment with water, chemicals and oil on the plant floors, as well as snow, ice and salt from outside. I walk a lot, 5 to 8 miles a day, mostly on the concrete floors at work. The boots protect my feet, and last over 2, 000 miles of walking in a year - typically 14 to 16 months before the tread is worn off the soles and heels, and they start to squeak on office floors. The boots are still waterproof at the end, even though they are scuffed and scratched up. Best recommendation i can give is i'm still buying them because i haven't found anything close in performance. I do put dr schols arch supports in them before wearing them, due to my having flat arches. I usually go through the original laces and am on the second set when i have to replace the boots. I tend to be careful with my money, but these take care of my feet, and are much cheaper than a trip to the emergency room! (it is a rough environment, like i said).

. Wells, Arkansas says

This will be the third pair i've ordered for my husband over the past 9 years for christmas presents. He loves this boot. He will keep the previous pair for a little while longer, as there isn't anything wrong with them structurally, its just that he likes them to look newer. He says they are the most comfortable steel toe boot he's worn, working an average of 50 hours a week on concrete floors. He is constantly standing/ squatting and his boots have never split. It's a plus that they don't look like typical workbooks so he can wear them outside of work. He wears a 10. 5 shoe, and i order the same size and he's never complained.

W. Anonymous, Centre

I got a job working in a plant in august of 2014 so obviously i needed a pair of steel toe shoes which were mandatory. I did not have much money so i made an amateur move and purchased some steel toe die hard shoes from kmart. I will not go into deep detail about the die hard's, but i will say that i found myself buying a new pair of the same die hard shoes and replacing them around every three months and they were around $29. 99 a pair. My timberland pro men's pitboss 6" steel toes did not come in until november 2015 so if you do the math, that is right, i owned 5, yes, five, pair of die hard steel toe shoes (sometimes even doubling up) within a year and three months time so i dished out about $150. 00 on those shoes altogether. So those shoes were not meant to hold up walking 8 - 12 hours on concrete for 40 hours a week. I finally decided i was tired of buying new steel toe shoes every three months and spending that type of money so i decided to do some research and came past this product and the difference is night and day. This is my sixth month owning these steel toe boots and they are still holding together great. I have absolutely no complaints. After breaking them in they are a lifesaver. . As i said, this is my sixth month owning this boot and it is still holding together nicely. I really like the way these boots lace up to the top of the ankles. It makes for a very good tight fit and you rarely have to worry about retying your shoe during your job. I like how tough they are. It has been six months and by now i would have spent $60. 00 on the die hard steel toes because they would have been worn out, ripping apart, and the steel for the toes being exposed or even popping out. These boots they are still intact, a few scratches, but nothing to complain about it is what comes with the territory. These boots are comfortable. When i was wearing my die hard steel toes i would come home every day and my feet would be in serious pain and be very sensitive. Now these boots do not take away the pain of walking around on concrete for 40 hours a week, but they do well absorbing the shock of walking and giving protection for your feet. The break in period did not take long at all so you will not have to worry about that. I have only one negative feedback and that is the color on the boot seemed very faded and made me question whether i received a knockoff or a already worn pair, but nothing that takes away from the quality of the product. Also i would like to suggest that if you do buy a pair of these boots that you own some socks that go up mid-knee because wearing ankle socks the material of the boot will irritate the achilles. . Do not be like me. Go out there and get yourself a good pair of work boots. You will save yourself a lot of money, time, and frustration in the process. Besides the faded color of the boots upon receiving there are not any real complaints i can come up with about this product. This is truly a top of the class work boot fit to do long hours of hard labor. I cannot really say i love these boots the only way that would happen is if it took away the pain from my feet entirely, but i will give credit when its due and say that it has help reduce the pain significantly. I hope this review helped. If you were on the fence about buying these, trust me, do it, you will not be disappointed. I would also like to give online store's 3d virtual fit measurements a quick mention. I was very skeptical, but the boots ended up fitting just fine.

. Palmer, Berlin says

Bought the boot on my foot back om august 14th, 2015. I have finally worn through the sole of the foot. I have cur these boots with razor blades and saws and grinders. By accident obviously. Never ripped or come unthreaded. I've had dewalt, among other brands and they never last a year. These boots lasted over two years, and i'm still going to wear them around the yard. But i want thicker soles again for work consider to do carpentry. Lots of nails. I wear these boots 6 days a week and even sometimes on sunday. I am super pressed.

T. Theresa, Darlington

Heavy duty - love 'em. These are 'better' than the standard timberland boot everyone else is wearing. Heavy duty, more support in the arch and foot bed, thicker/taller sole and nicely padded tongue. I sprayed waterproofing spray on these and they didn't discolor. . They are heavy, but that's what i'd expect with a steel toe. Great with jeans, though they're 'bigger' than the bottoms of your standard jean - you'll want 'boot cut'. Depending on the look you want. . Overall good boot and good work boot. Barely feel uneven surfaces underneath.

F. Campbell, Alabama says

I love these boots. So why the 4 stars? first, this is my second pair. First pair i had for over 10 years and finally wore the sole. I do a lot (a lot! ) of tree work every year. My main source of heat is wood burning and my wife gets cold at 70. These are durable and i feel safe with the steel toe. The only thing i feel i wished they'd improve over the years is bottom grip. Most of my tree work is done on steep hills and i find myself on my bum too often. I live in the rocky mountains and you can imagine the topography. But besides this i still went with this quality product.

S. Pamela, Blackburn with Darwen says

This is my second pair of timberland pro boots, and all i can say is wow. These boots are incredibly comfortable and durable. The steel-toe doesn't obstruct my toes in any way, but keeps them safe and sound whenever something is dropped on them (happens more often than it should). I recommend these boots to all of my colleagues, as they meet our shops standards, are comfortable and durable, and are pretty stylish for protective/anti-slip footwear. Highly recommend these boots to any laborers, or just someone looking for an awesome pair of boots.

Q. Hadley, Brighton and Hove

Been working in tube mill/steel mills for twenty five years and have been through the gamut with boots. As a penny pinching youth, i wore cheap boots from wal-mart and k-mart; easy on the pocket but rather poorly made and ill fitting, esp when one is doing hard work on one's feet all day. But i made do, trying to save $. I moved on, wisely, to higher end boots ala the red wings and carolinas- and yes, these boots were and are indeed very capable steel toes boots (again, my line of work requires steel toes). I ended up regularly dishing out $160-$190 a pair and thought that was the required price to pay for boot that offered comfort, durability and safety. It was only a few years ago that i came across these boots. Hmmmm. Timberland? wasn't a brand that popped to mind when considering steel toe work boots, i thought- now gone through many a known brand (the aforementioned rw's, carolina, iron age, caterpillar, apaches, and wolverines. But considered "timberland" to be a recreational boot. My curiosity was piqued). . Fast forward to three years later. I now make it a point to purchase only these, my size is 11. 5 and i can order, sight unseen and they fit like a glove (er, or like a shoe :-d) right from the get go. I've never had a boot so comfortable- and this last pair lasted me a whole year, and i wear them daily and my job in the mill is active, rigorous and hard on footwear. I'm ordering again as i type (two pairs) as the cost is so reasonable that i'll flip em every six months now. Best $100 pair of boots you'll find. Highly recommended

P. Clara, Vermont says

I've worn these boots for years, at a job where i would spend 90% of the day on my feet. Yes, they are hefty and are not "lightweight" by any means, but i have found that it's one small downside against the many upsides. . The steel toes are probably the main factor in the high weight, but the benefits of that are obvious. I'm sure that if i didn't wear steel-toe boots at work i would have seriously damaged my feet a long time ago. Besides good protection, these shoes also have a good amount of cushion and support, which also does add to the weight. . The last pair of boots i bought i decided to try a different brand because they felt much lighter. After wearing them for a while, i have discovered that they are much less comfortable than the timberlands. So i guess it's ultimately up to the wearer to decide what they prefer: lightweight or comfortable. I think for me, the weight isn't so bad. . The one downside i found is that they run a bit small, so i had to get a half-size up from my sneaker size. Otherwise, i have no complaints and i will continue wearing timberland pro boots for work.

M. Julie, Alberta

Got these for my boyfriend because he needed some new work boots. I just so happen to slip on his old ones when going outside to grab the mail so my feet wouldn t get wet or cold. Granted yes his shoes are a whole lot bigger than mine but his old boots where so uncomfortable i couldn t imagine how he could bare to wear them, so i decided then to buy him a new pair. I did my research (i looked for boots with things i thought would be important in a good work boot) and read many reviews and looked at lots of customer pics of their boots and these seem to have really good reviews and the owners where very pleased with the fit and the toughness of them. So i ordered them for him hoping i would get it right considering i don t have a clue when it comes to these things. He was shocked that i ordered these boots for him and so far he is extremely pleased and impressed with them.

A. Cageen, Minnesota says

An excellent boot for my purposes. I wear these boots in a backroom retail setting and it is very comfortable. The steel toe is very durable and has saved my little piggies a number of times. On average i walk around 10+ miles a day and have done so in the timberland pro men's pitboss boots 5 days a week for almost 12 months now with almost no noticeable wear and tear on the bottom part. . Now my job is hardly in the league these boots are made for, but they've done their job to a t and for a super affordable price. I can't recommend these enough. An added plus is that going into freezers has been an issue with other boots, but not these. This was the best purchase i've made in a while.

O. Eva, Tasmania

Overall, this is a great boot, especially at under a $100. There are some issues i have had as a big man. The soles seem exceedingly 'hard', for lack of a better word, and it was excruciating breaking them in in. However, they fit quite well and are reasonably light, i typically wear a 14 in wide sizes, and their 14w was perfect (never know which one til you buy a particular brand or style). The soles are a bit sad and will not last long, a vibram sole would be better, and i intend to replace them with such. I bought them in may for work in a hog farm, and the leather and shape are holding up well with regular oiling, but i won't get them again the tread isn't good for my work and i refuse to break in another pair of timberlandpros, for guy who lives with daily foot pain it's like walking on two slabs of concrete for a month. For folks not north of 300, probably a nonissue. The laces held up ok, too, but that perpendicular eyelet needs redesigning as it eventually cuts the laces. The speedhooks are heavy, not thin, but could use reinforcing as the backing on the top two are bent now, not much of an issue just slips the lace when i am putting them on sometimes. They have outlasted all their predecessors and i am impressed, just not the boot for me long term.

B. Alexia, Bayern says

Size warning! these boots run small. I normally wear a 9. 5 medium width. In these shoes it took a 10. 5 wide to fit my foot. I couldn't even get the 9. 5 on my foot, so i returned them. Ordered the 10. 5 wide and they are perfect! the quality of this shoe is top of the line. Everything thing about it is quality. Love these. Steel toe works great. You can drop a brick on it and feel nothing. Soles are strong and flexible. The leather is wonderful. Worth every dime.

H. Parker, Yukon Territory

I've tried a few different brands of boots. I paid top dollar for american made boots that were beat after 9 months. A few pairs lasted me a full year. These boots are very comfortable, 1/3 of the price, and easily last 12 and up to 18 months of every day wear. There is no comparison. They wear well and don't get completely stretched out. I do invest in the upgraded timberland pro insoles and i apply boot saver toe guards, but i've worn the boots without insoles and they are comfortable either way. The sizing is close to true. They run a bit big. I generally wear an 11-11. 5 shoe. My boot size in timberland pro is a 10. 5w. There is only one somewhat negative thing i can think of. The boots are heavy. I will gladly trade the extra weight for the durability and comfort of this brand. I'm very happy with this boot.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

. Emma, Northamptonshire says

I've had problems with these boots from day 1. I read through a lot of reviews and it seems the pair i got has all the typical problems i read about. . First, there's a seam behind the heel where 2 pieces of leather and joined. This seam is very stiff and cut into my heel, mostly on my right foot but the left was bad as well. So after a few days of hoping they'd break in i decided to stretch them myself and i stuffed the toe and squeezed in a thick allen wrench to put pressure on the heel, got the leather wet and let it sit over night, 3 days of doing this nightly and i could finally tolerate these boots. . The steel toe feels cramped and is too short, leaving my pinky toe completely unprotected. (this isn't a reason for star loss as they're advertised as 6inch, just a personal complaint. ). . 2 months almost to the day after receiving these boots and i'm lacing my boots up for work this morning and the fourth eye (the exterior loop before the quick lace eyes at the top) popped right out. Upon inspection i noticed the rivet seems poorly formed. . So now i get to return them in the mail and wait however long for new ones to arrive just to dig into my heels again after finally breaking them in. . I won't be buying anything from this company again, i bought the boots for around $90, now they're $120 and definitely not worth the price.

Q. Guest, Massachusetts

I got a defective pair. The ankle support is so out of place that i can feel it grinding against my heal. Going to try to fix it, but i am extremely disappointed. . It's been some time, and the crummy ankle support hasn't changed.

K. Barbara, Wirral says

You have to get the next size up and the wide version to get a pair that fits. Took me 3 tries and 3 weeks to get the right size. Once i got them they were still snug for the first few weeks till they broke in. Other than that i love them. Good work boots and very comfy.

. April, North Carolina

Like the title says, get the wide version of your size. I bought the regular and my pinky toe was swished all day. . Solid pair of steel toes for the price. The break in time was longer than normal. Unfortunately, i had to return these after only 2 weeks because the left boot would give me bruises and blisters around my ankle. The right boot broke in just fine, no problems. Other than that they are good boots and i d recommend them.

Y. Weber, Midi-Pyrenees says

These are not american sizes. They run at least one size too small and one size too narrow. I don't even have wide feet and they are too narrow but the width is "ee"! these must be a shipment meant for a country of people with tiny feet. If you wear a size 9 buy a size 10 double ee width! it's crazy. I'm returning them.

Z. Meyer, Corse

These are the worst boots i have ever worn. Poorly crafted and poorly designed. The clasps which hold the ankle flection point cut my ankle because they were not filled down flush with the rest of the upper boot. Hard pass on this style. I returned the boots after a day of light use and there might be blood in them. I still feel the brand makes decent products in the hiking shoes.

. Yvette, Surrey says

I have had these boots for one week of work and one of the eyelets just ripped out as i was tightening the laces. I work on my feet for 12 hours a day and this is the first pair of boots in 2+ years that i have had this issue with.

H. Sandra, Australian Capital Territory

Good boot. Only downfall is i feel these are going to fail within 6 months. Upon arrival some of the stitching seems loose on the rubber sole and white scuff looking marks in multiple spots. Possible i got a return of worn boots or just a lack of quality control. Owned 3 pair of regular tim's and none had these issues.

M. Lara, Bolton says

I had to use a foam insole and a gell insole in each boot to make the boot comfortable for my feet but the problem now is the pressure points all around the ankles. I don t know if they will get better in time but i can t put up with the pain! i m going back to docs even though their quality has gone way downhill but they are like putting your feet into a cloud, especially compared to these timberland boots!

X. Nicole, New Mexico

The boot is well made but i've found a better option. The traction on this sole is extremely poor. They slip / slide terribly (including a slip on some ice in january which resulted in several broken ribs. ) this motivated me to move on to the more-expensive-but-worth-it wolverine "glacier ice" boot.

L. Candy, Oldham says

Do not buy these boots. There is a hard plastic piece sewn into the back of the shoe on the inside that hits your ankle every time you pick your foot up . I'm a landscaper working 7 days a week and could not even where the boots more than an half an hour and my ankle is raw. I wore them around inside the house to break them in and did not have the plastic piece hitting my ankle but once you go outside and start walking on uneven surfaces it hits your ankle every time you pick your foot up.

I work for fedex so a good boot is very important to me. I have been wearing timberland boots for years. I usually get about one year out of them before replacing them. I had two foot injuries at work about nine months apart. It was clear that i needed steel toe safety boots. Since i have had good luck with timberlands in the past , i ordered timberland pro steel toe boots. After about six hours on the first day, i couldn t stand it no longer. I had blisters on both ankles and the back of my foot. The seam in the back of the boot was poorly sewn. There was also a piece of what felt like hard plastic that ran along inside the lining where it rubbed against my ankles. Every step was very painful. I had to stop on my lunch break at a local sporting goods that also sold work boots. I purchased a different brand for instand relief. I now have to send theses boots back to online store for a refund. I read the reviews which mostly looked good. But there are some reviews with the same problems that i have with mine. I guess i got a bad pair.

A. Theola, Tennessee says

I've only worn them a few days, but they're good so far. The fit was a little large, but i wear a gel insole with them and that took up the extra space. The leather needs a good couple coats of leather protectant like obenauf's, and it seems to be strong yet pliable. I have put a scrape in them, but it was from a fairly shop object in the shop, so i'm not surprised. Other than that, the soles are fairly hard and the stock insole isn't very cushioning, so an aftermarket insole is a help if you're on your feet for 8 hours a day or more. Overall, i'm happy with them, though.

R. Kimberly, Portsmouth

Can't change insoles. I bought some insoles and it made the shoe to crowded. My toes started hurting at their base. Changed back to original insoles and the pain went away. Tried multiple different kinds including the recommended ones. All with same result. Upside, boots last year's. Maybe my feet are just too big. Lol. I do recommend but will still look for something else. Mainly because of cost. This is my second pair. Price had gone up considerably from last time i bought them. Durable though but i would like a better insole. If i change the insole it's ingrown toe nails and painful toes. Lol. Hope this helped.

V. Brendon, Warwickshire says

The soles stared to come apart six months in. Now i read about this being one of the only draw backs about this boot, but had not anticipated it happening so soon. Another thing that really bothered me, was that the shoes had clearly been worn before. There were scuff marks from wear and the tread had some miles on it already. Not amused. Also, there's something funky with the left boot that agitates the skin and causes some weird rash. According to husband, they're not bad, but not great either. If it were up to me, i would have sent them back, but it seems hubby is determined to make them work where as it was a gift from me. Also, not worth paying more for shipping. I paid extra and they waited 5 days before shipping it and i couldn't cancel my order because it was being prepared. They look amazing, but i'll probably try my luck somewhere else next time.

J. Guest, Islington

Very uncomfortable at first, took way longer than they should have to break in. By that i mean about 4 months of wearing them all weekend for automotive repair. Maybe i'm just a pansy but they chafed the hell out of my ankles and bothered my heal for a while. They're fairly comfortable now, and the good part is they are extremely tough and i don't foresee them wearing out for years to come.

. Melissa, Minnesota says

Nice looking boot that took awhile to break in. I ordered the timberland pro anti-fatigue insoles as well and they still blistered the sides of my toes and back of my heels for the first 2-3 weeks. I work 12 hour shifts walking 8-11 miles a day as a tech in an automotive factory (concrete, steel, stairs, etc) so my feet really take a beating. Unfortunately the top eyelet for the laces just snapped off the last time i tied them after only about 6-7 weeks of wear. Timberland appears to have a year warranty so hopefully this issue can be addressed. I can't rate any higher due to that and the torturous break in period.

D. Neva, Alaska

I've had these boots for two months now, since feb 24th 2016. I'm am a dredger and work in or around salt water in very rugged conditions every day. These boots have held up very well. Before these timberlands i had a pair of redwings that were an identical style that cost $350. In a comparable amount of time the red wings had ripped seems and the soles started cracking. . The only con i have noticed, and it's a big one for me, is that the boots are barely water resistant. Everything below the base of the tongue is sealed nicely. However, the sides of the tongue are connected to the boot by a type of fabric mesh and it lets water in immediately. . If you want a durable boot that you can walk through puddles with, this is a great boot. Just don't expect to walk through any type of standing water and stay dry with these.

I. Carolyn, Champagne-Ardenne says

On paper, these boots were exactly what i wanted and i've had really good luck with timberland pro boots (i'm on my 4th pair now), but the pitboss boots have a seam that rubbed on the outside of my ankles and made them unwearable.

. Garner, York

In less than two months one of the top hooks poped off. I still carried on, as they were some what comfortable. If you work days longer then six hours i highly advise you getting an insole, other wise your feet will hurt. Also within the third month the anti slip wore through, so these can't be used as work boots anymore, they look nice though. I've used timberland boots since i was 12, i think these will be my last pair of work boots from this company, sadly.

. Sherry, Swindon says

First off, the boot runs small. I wear a 10. 5m boot in every other work boot i've ever purchased, including a pair of steel toe work sneakers from timberland. Harley, irish setter, and caterpillar boots i've always worn a 10. 5. . This, however is not the reason for 3 stars. The stitching looks like poor quality garbage, the boot scuffs easily with a fingernail, and the seam in the back that a lot of people have complained about, is also a complaint here. Would not buy again. Would not recommend. Printed a return label as soon as i could

I am in the construction industry and have bought many different kind of boots - i bought these less then a year ago and they are already ripping. I plan on reaching out to the seller in hopes to get a new pair. Very disappointed in the quality.

W. Cageen, Wisconsin says

Horrible quality! hardware started to pop off the boot within the first week! completely surprised with the lack of quality of this product. I've always trusted this brand and never would have thought i'd have an experience like this. Definitely not worth the money! deeply dissatisfaction with this one

B. Mays, Lewisham

I didn't even try these on. These were advertised as new but they clearly had been used. The outside leather was noticeably scuffed up and the inside of the shoes were full of animal hair.

S. Cunningham, Solihull says

I bought these boots for work because i am required to wear steel toe shoes in industrial area. I usually buy the 6" direct attach pro steel toe timberlands, but they are $50 more than these so i thought i would give these a shot. Turns out. I hate these! they are okay on fit, but they have something inside the heel wrap that constantly scrapes the back of my ankle. It is very annoying and sometimes even hurts. When i first put them on and wore them around the house to see if they were okay, they felt fine, but the more i wear them to work, the more my ankle hurts.

G. Anonymous, Darlington

After years of buying cheap walmart boots, i had high hopes for a pair of genuine timberland boots with timberland anti fatigue inserts, especially for what they cost all told. Boy, i don't know what happened but the ball was dropped. I've been wearing these things 7days a week for walking on hard concrete in a warehouse environment, and i understand that there's a break in period for boots and whatnot, but the first time i laced them up i noticed the right boot rubbed a bit on the knuckle of my big toe. After some examination i determined that it was the corner of the toe cap, as it it had been misshapen during manufacturing. I initially shrugged it off and wore them anyway, then noticed they trapped heat like nobody's business. After investing in some better ventilating socks i wore them through a couple of days, only to find out i had a heck of a blister on the bottom of my left toes. Now a few days later i've given up on the super duper insoles and replaced them with some from my last pair of boots that i know work fine. Already my right foot aches as if there's something wrong with the boot itself, though the left one seems alright, tolerable enough. How you screw up just the right boot, i have no idea. I'd send them back but something tells me online store and the seller would pitch a fit about them being worn and put through their paces during my work day. Long story short, if you're looking for comfortable steel toed boots for walking on hard concrete, keep looking. Timberland, you may look good but your product quality just isn't enough.

U. Shirley, Minnesota says

After wearing caterpillar boots for years i decided to try timberland. One of the tabs one one boot came out when i went to tighten the lace. Poor workmanship. Unfortunately i didn t attempt to put them on for 2-1/2 months after i received them so i couldn t return them. I am too used to online store and reliability of what i buy and i became a lazy consumer. The other boot looks like a great product though. I have since ordered two pair of caterpillar boots, looked at and tried on both pair day i received them. I gave two stars because one boot was fine.

T. Meghan, Herefordshire

Just for some back ground i'm a heavy duty truck and trailer mechanic i bought 2 pairs one for work and another for wearing when not at work. I've had these boots for about a month now, and i think these boots are one of the most comfortable pair of boots i've ever owned and i go through a pair of boots about every 6 months, plus have had some pretty expensive top of the line boots before these pair. The only problem i see of these boots is the soles on mine squeak very loudly every time i move my feet or take a step, hence the reason i gave these a 3 star, mainly because it can get pretty annoying, and that started right out of box when i wore them for the first time. One pair of boots i have aren't as bad as the other but they still are not quiet either. I don't know if everyone has had the same issue or not with theirs but that's my experience. I would probably buy again as they were a good investment for the money and the pain in my feet are nearly relieved if i can find a pair that don't squeak so bad when i walk.

E. Moore, Bedfordshire says

I have owned timberland boots for more than 29 years. I recently bought the soft toe variety of this boot and love it. But this is the second time i have bought steel toes from timberland and they are both too narrow in the front of the boot. This boot in particular is very narrow and i will be returning them and looking for other boots.

P. Fabian, Languedoc-Roussillon

Why do manufacturers keep redesigning flawless products? . . Something happened in the production transition from 'then' to 'now' where the heel and toe have been modified to irritate me. . These don't sit right. . And now that i've worn them, i'm not going to return them. . I'll just deal with the feet that turn white.

C. Donna, Bury says

I've worn timberland pro steel toe boots for at least 10 years. Last 2 pairs were brown. Ordered black same size as i always wear. I paid extra for overnight delivery as soles had fallen off of my last pair. Received these on time. Laced them up and stuck both feet in. One seemed a little tight. Thought to myself maybe it's just because they are new. I started looking closer at them and one was visibly more narrow than the other. I took them off and put heel to heel toe to toe. Sure enough one is about 1/2" off the other at toe width. Looked at size inside and both are the same 11m. Promptly got back on online store to replace. We'll see when the others come if it was just a fluke. Otherwise these are great boots for working.
