Superfeet Blue Full Length Insole (blue active d) 70

Review for /superfeet blue full length insole

Price was 25. Fits my cycling shoes well, but be aware as these soles are thicker than the original inserts provided with the shoes. I had to adjust my dropper post 1 cm upwards. Very comfortable and take strain off your feet after riding 15miles/day on the desert trails.

Superfeet blue full length insole Review (blue active d)

I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis for a couple years now. I bought these for my work. I work in a factory and i'm up on my feet all day, on concrete flooring. I also have to wear very heavy steel toe shoes/boots. Pretty sure these are the reason i have p. F. In the first place but also part of the reason it hasn't improved. I have tried several different things. I'm even going to a massage therapist, which has helped out some. I'm only 30 yrs old and walk with a limp. I've had enough! i had to trim them down a bit to fit into my shoe. This is the first week i have tried them out and i love them! the pain and limp are pretty much gone. I will occasionally get a sharp pain in my foot but only b/c i turn a certain way. These have helped tremendously for me! i've even woke up with less foot pain in the morning. Anyone with pf can vouch that your foot is super stiff and hurts like hell if you step on it as soon as you wake up. I'm one happy customer! -D. Valdez

Superfeet Blue Full Length Insole Shoes

PROS
  • These insoles were recommended by a physical therapist to help alleviate foot pain caused by collapsed arches. They have helped a lot, although i still get cramping in my foot after (but not during) exercise walks over a mile.
  • I find these to be a bit pricey, but i must admit that they work wonderfully. I have to pairs; one of which i bought some years ago and use everyday, and another that i just bought a month ago so i don't have to switch them from one pair of shoes to another. They provide very good support and are comfortable. The shoes that i've been using lately are on the cheaper side and don't provide much support. After a while of using these particular shoes, my right foot started to really hurt in the arch area. Shortly after sticking these in and using them, my foot pain just went away. . I also have the yellow insoles that i use in my ice hockey skates, which are great.
CONS
  • Reasonable support and blue is just right for low arches but beware the sizing. If your shoe size is in the low end of the sizing range then you're ok. If you wear a 9 and the size is 7. 5-9, then buy the next size up and cut back the excess material. The arch will be too far back for a size 9 otherwise.
  • Cheap hard plastic with no cushioning. My ankle pain went from bad to worse with these. Although they state it has support for a moderate arch, there is hardly any noticeable support at all. . I have tried the powerstep pinnacle maxx, sof sole airr, profoot vita-foam, spenco total support original, the doctor scholls custom fit orthotics, and many cheaper brands. . I would rate the powerstep the best i've tried in terms of support and comfort. Like the superfeet, it doesn't have much cushioning, but you can add profoot 2oz. Miracle custom molding insoles which adds a little cushion and forms nicely to your foot without taking up much room. . The profoot is pretty good too. It has decent support, plenty cushion in the arch area, but none in the heel. . The sof sole would be best all around insert for comfort, as long as you don't already have problems. They are well cushioned and have a cushioned heel. If your feet are just sore, aching, tired, they would probably work great. If you have plantar fasciitis or other issues, something else may work better for you. . The spenco are pretty good. More cushioning than the powerstep but less than the sof sole. A good amount of support, but not as rigid as the powerstep and superfeet. . The dr. Scholls custom fit orthotics are very comfortable, but i don't think they offer a rigid enough support to help in the long run. . Nothing i've found has been able to actually correct the problem i'm having, and everyone's feet are different, but the superfeet are the only ones that made my pain considerably worse, and i believe most of them are seriously overpriced for the material and quality.
  • I have bad feet. I mean, they do not hurt when i walk, but when i stand still. I have 9 different pair of insoles and this is just another one that doesn't do it for me. It doesn't hurt my feet, but it didn't help either. There is nothing wrong with them, they do offer support, but i am looking for more "cushion" and a deeper heel cup. For the price, i figured i'd give this one a try. I know the high arch version was too uncomfortable for me.

These insoles gave nearly cured my plantar fasciitis. I am extremely please and have purchased for all shoes and sneakers. I forgot to install them in a pair of shoes and my foot hurt the next day. That's when i purchased additional ones.

I primarily use these in sneakers. I use separate inserts for dress shoes and boots. Recommend replacing every six months or so as the padding for the front part of the foot will become flat."

The F.A.Q. for Superfeet Blue Full Length Insole (blue active d)

I bought these for my husbands issued military boots. I have not heard him complain of his knee pain since he's put them in! . They were a little bit large, but i just took out the old insert and use it as a trace, and cut the superfeet insert around it. I've also received a few calls from him at work asking me what they were called because his coworkers wanted to know. He's got super flat feet, and is on his feet over 10 hours a day. Before buying these, he would come home and immediately take off his boots, and now he'll sit around relaxing for a while. So, as objective perspective, i've gotta say these work like a charm!

A number of questions have been asked here.

T. Sarah, South Dakota says

So far so good, i did not get any pain on my right foot which i always get after 2 hours of delivering mail. Surprisingly it fits my shoes perfectly without trimming it. Well today was just the first day so i will do another review after a week. I'm just happy right now not having to deal with the pain all day long.

J. McCarthy, Dudley

I heard some doctor from you tube recommended superfeet. So i tried out. I hurt my heel and got plantar fascisis mainly from being cheap and did not replace my working shoes more often, . I think when the shoe started to worn, it tends to tilt to one side, and your foot would also tend to tilt. To prevent plantar fascisis, i think beside comfort also focus on keep your feet and especially the heel straight is very important.

L. Cunningham, Nevada says

These have made a very positive difference. The only thing i have to make sure of is that i tie my shoes fairly tightly. Otherwise, my foot does not stay put in the proper place of my shoe-this is no fault of the product, just something i figured out. If the insert does not seem to help, make sure you are tying your shoes very snugly.

. Lara, Kentucky

I was ready to throw out a pair of boots. I put these in and it saved them from the dump. These are far better than the inserts you get at the big box store that have their own machine to help you get the "right" one. These don't wear out either like the others do.

P. Sharon, City of Bristol says

I'm in disaster recovery(think katrina) and spend days at a time in my steel toe combat boots which are not known for their pillow soft foot beds. These are a lifesaver and they last longer than those other brands. I have these in my danber rat boots for my recovery work as well as my echo dress shoes for my paying job. These are amazing. . Now one thing you need to keep in mind, you need to know what kind of arch and foot volume you have before you pick the right insert.

F. June, Wakefield

I am shocked at the comfort these brought to my back and hips. I have been suffering with back and hip pain ever since a major injury to my right leg. A year ago physical therapy accomplished little to nothing. The pain became severe and a new doctor sent me back to pt but with new orders. This time a senior therapist evaluated me and determined that my right ankle was weak and twisting inward. He send me to the store for superfeet. I had no idea they existed. In about 10 days the pain in the back was completely gone and the hip has little or no pain. (what pain that is left is attributed to mild arthritis. )

M. Yvette, Enfield says

I've only had these for a little over a week, so i will post a longer term update in the future. At the moment though, i must say that i really like these insoles. I switched over to a standing desk about 2 years ago, and within the past year, i started experiencing pain in my feet - possibly because of just the amount of time that i've now spent standing pretty much every working day. I didn't change my shoes, which are rather old now (more than 5 years), and simply putting in these insoles seems to have made a difference. I agree with the other reviewers that choosing the right fit is likely critical - i have pretty average feet with average arches, so the blue ones seem to work pretty well for me. . I generally now feel a healthy amount of cushioning around the heel as well as the outer edge of my feet, so this has definitely helped with the pain i was feeling - i usually wear low profile sneakers that have very little sole cushioning, and what was there in my shoes has worn down over years of use. . I am happy with this purchase overall, and will post an update in the near future, but for now, i am comfortably able to make it through the entire day on my feet, and boy is that a nice feeling!

V. Watson, Champagne-Ardenne

I've been in this insole for about 6 years; at rei, a salesperson helped me secure the right size for where my arch lies in my foot, and that helped immensely, otherwise i would not have picked the right size for me. I don't go for a walk in any shoe unless this insole is in it! better to go to shop first and try this on to select the best size for your foot.

. Elanor, Prince Edward Island says

So i bought these to fix my gait and combat shin splints. . This product did both. . I never realized i was walking improperly until i put these into my shoes. Suddenly my gait transformed pretty dramatically. I primarily use these when i run or play basketball or tennis. I noticed that my new gait helps me transfer the impact more appropriately. I can feel new parts of my feet and legs absorbing impact instead of the same parts. This reduces strain on the outsides of my feet and my upper calves. . As for fit, i got the 9. 5-11 mens and wear a size 11 for most shoes. I didn't need to cut these. They fit perfectly into every shoe that i put them in. (size 11 asics running shoes and tennis shoes, size 11 nike basketball shoes). . One turnoff as i researched this product was the price. After wearing these for several weeks, i can easily say that the price is justified. 30 something bucks to give your feet comfort and to possibly fix or prevent any injuries or health problems? no brainer. . Your feet take a beating. Treat them nicely and they'll do the same for you.

U. Allen, Mississippi

I have a very hard time finding shoes that are comfortable to walk in all day. I was originally sold these by a store clerk and, at the time, i thought he was just trying to rack up a higher dollar sale as they weren't cheap. After wearing them for six months in my shoes however, i was sold. Just bought this second pair from online store so i can replace insoles in my other shoes.

. Imelda, North East Lincolnshire says

I feel rather well after my 'sore back' walk (3 miles) with these inserts in my regular sneakers. Surprised since they are so much thinner and lighter than the inserts i have been using. My back does not hurt any more than it did before. Will continue to use these inserts!

. Newell, New Mexico says

I did research for the various superfeet insoles. I have low arches and found that the blue and black ones work best for me. Both needed some "break-in" time since it feels really hard when you first start wearing it. . I generally can't wear heels and even flats start hurting after a short time. I've found this is the perfect pairing with my crocs(and superga) canvas slip-ons. (crocs have removable insoles. ). . For reference, i have size 6 shoes and cutting the insoles was not an issue.

I. Lorenz, Cambridgeshire

I replaced an old pair which i had bought locally for $50 - same ones on online store much cheaper! i wear these in my hiking shoes and they are very comfortable - provide good arch support. I wear a size us7. 5 shoes and they are perfect. I had tried the pink ones but they were not as great.

W. Anonymous, Maine says

Before i got these, i had excruciating pain in my left foot every time it touched the floor. Now, i hardly think about it. My doctor recommended them for plantar fasciitis.

K. Elizabeth, Croydon

Need these at this stage in my life. When the feet work, the knees don't hurt and the hips stay in place. Don't assume the inserts in shoes are enough for your feet. Been wearing these for over 3 years and will not have a pair of shoes without superfeet.

X. Kelly, Iowa says

Substantial improvement over the flimsy insoles that sidi provides in their bike shoes. The arch support ended up being a little forward of what i expected after first cutting and positioning (the heel cup limits moving the arch support) but they have settled somewhat after using for a while and now are comfortable.

N. Veronica, Maryland

I really did not expect these insoles to work. My foot hurt most of the time , i had a falling arch due to a weak tendon . I felt i had tried everything. It took about two days and i was already forgetting about my foot hurting. I just wish i had found these sooner.

R. Zelda, Baden-Wuerttemberg says

I used to use custom orthotic arch supports i had made while i was in high school. Those things tore up my shoe and caused my. Ankles to roll as i got older. I had a partial knee replacement and my surgeon recommended these or powerstep pinnacles. I tried both. The pinnacles didn't fit me well (arch was in wrong spot). The superfeet blues fit well enough. I'm not sure if they have enough arch support for me, but overall, i'm pretty happy. These are my 2nd pair. The first pair lasted about 6 months. The old ones were getting pretty worn down so i use them in my yard shoes now.

. Lewis, Gloucestershire

I have heel problems and these help with the pain. Put them in my asics running shoes and went for a walk and was able to go 30 minutes with no increase in pain. They are expensive but when you are hurting you will pay for what comfort you can get.

C. Bullock, Ile-de-France says

I was skeptical and concerned about how these insoles would work for me. I have low arches and have been suffering from a bout of plantar fasciitis in one foot. I decided to give the superfeet insoles a try after reading a number of good reviews. I started with the black version which is the thinnest style. They fit perfectly in my size 12 shoes and felt supportive and comfortable. I wore them daily in all my various shoes and activities. I was able to spend more time on my feet without pain, but they didn't completely eliminate the pain. After about a month, i decided to move up to the next level of support, the mid-level blue version. These also feel great and comfortable and supportive. I've been wearing these for about three weeks now and barely feel the plantar fasciitis, it's not a problem despite being on my feet four to six hours a day. I'm really happy with these and i believe they will help prevent future foot problems.

B. Neva, Redbridge

I benefited a great deal from reviews. So i want to contribute this feedback to help people who suffer the same heel pain. . I suffered from heel pain and didn't know what it was. I kept buying jell shoe insert to no avail. I finally went to my family doctor who quickly diagnosed it to be plantar fasciitis and prescribed superfeet. (i am not a podiatrist, so take it as it is worth: the telltale of plantar fasciitis is that it hurt a lot when i got up in the morning - then it became better after a few steps. ) i took a look at superfeet and didn't believe it because superfeet was simply a "piece of very hard plastic" for close to $40 while other inserts were only $10. . Furthermore, when i gave superfeet a try, buying exactly my shoe size, selecting a random arch, it hurt even more. Through trials and errors, i found a method that will help. . Some other reviewers wrote about ignoring the shoe size and going for the right fit of the foot arch. I cannot emphasize this enough. It doesn't matter what the size of superfeet is, when you have the right one, the contour of superfeet should fit the curve under your foot arch perfectly. The rest of superfeet could be trimmed. . There are two critical factors: 1) the right arch (flat, low, medium, or high arch) and 2) the right fit of the foot from the heel forward. Superfeet has different colors for different arches. It is too much trouble to define whether you have a low, or medium or high arch. Just try on several superfeet sizes and several colors (for the arch) until you find the superfeet that fits your heel and your arch perfectly. The rest of the insert can be trimmed. This is difficult if you buy online. So find a store that sells superfeet to try out, and if they have a good price, give them the business. If not, there are online store. Com and other online stores. . There are a few more conditions to make it a success and no pain: when you trim the inserts, trim slowly. You cannot untrim what you cut too short. The right way is to trim it so that superfeet is about 1/16" to 1/8" *smaller* than your inner sole toward the front/toes. After inserting superfeet, you can put your hand and fingers into the shoe to feel the gap around the insert toward the front. In other words, superfeet will need to be able to move a little - not a lot - while you walk, so that it fits perfectly under your foot. You can experiment the exact size of the insole to find out for yourself. You can always trim it smaller. Also, please remember to remove the removable insole. Believe me. I thought leaving the insole i would get some cushioning to assist this hard plastic. Not true. Superfeet needs to rest on hard sole to provide the balance you need to relieve the pain. . Hope your experience is as pleasant as mine and that you won't have to pay a lot for customed orthotics.

G. Moore, Coventry says

Ok, like a lot of people here it seems, i've been dealing with heel pain that is probably plantar fasciitis for a while. These things make a huge difference, better than anything else i've tried. They're a little pricey, but it's worth it. They now go in every pair of shoes i buy. . These inserts seem to make the shoe a little stiffer, meaning they distribute pressure across your whole foot rather than letting any particular point get too focused. I've found that helps more than any amount of cushioning (gel, foam, whatever) from cheaper products. . (all that said, the best thing for plantar fasciitis is to remember to stretch your feet, calves, and hamstrings often. In my case, stretching my hamstrings regularly was the first thing that made a noticeable impact on the long term presence of pain. )

S. Edith, Blackburn with Darwen

I purchased the superfeet green and loved them at first. I am a neutral runner with a medium/normal arch. I put the superfeet green in my running sneakers and after using them for a couple weeks i started to get the feeling that they were causing me more pain than good. I was getting pain in my arch, heel and achilles more than usual (i am recovering from achilles injuries). I decided to take them out and put in the inserts that came with my running sneakers and sure enough, the pain went away. Since i do feel i still need a little arch support i did some research on the superfeet website and decided to purchase the superfeet blue, which are more low profile. Not as much arch support and the heel cup is not as deep. They definitely feel more natural than the green did and i hardly notice them. They also don't give me the same pain i was experiencing with the green's. If you are someone who is new to insoles and don't have a high arch or only need a little arch support, you may want to start out trying these superfeet blue. Everyone raves about the green's but it really depends on how much support you need on which color insole you should get.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Y. Courtney, Bournemouth says

I ordered size d and received size c - too small. Had to issue a refund and will need to order and wait again. Plus, it looked like the package was already opened when i received it which was a little unnerving.

. Kelly, Stockton-on-Tees

I should have ordered the orange ones. I have high arches and the arch isn't high enough in these. I'm going to try to exchange these through superfeet since i can't exchange them through online store.

O. Amanda, Northamptonshire says

I cut the shoe pad to fit my foot but once i put it in my shoe, i could not fit my foot in the shoe. Its almost as if its too high for the inside of the shoe. I have tried using it in various shoes such as gym shoes and boots and so far i have not been able to fit my foot in any shoe with this pad. I also have pretty thin/flat feet so not sure why im having this problem. Although stepping on the pad itself without a shoe seems very comfortable

L. Theola, Poitou-Charentes

Bought these after reading all the reviews. There are more than two thousand reviews and mostly positive. Can't go wrong rite? . I have plantar fasciitis after starting to walk daily. I wanted something to prevent further damage and perhaps provide some relief. I decided gave them one week trial. After a week, my plantar fasciitis worsen. The plastic layer of the insole was hard and the foam layer was thin. I felt pain in my heels throughout the day and my left knee was starting to hurt. I took them out and went on another search another pair of insoles. Avoid.

W. Gilmore, Kentucky says

I like the product. I have typically bought mine at running stores. This was the first time buying these online and the way they were packaged and how i received them were horrible. The product was good, but for the money these cost, you would think they would protect their products a bit better.

C. Edna, Yukon Territory

Not any better than dr schols in my humble opinion . Perhaps worse in that the material on top for the foot to rest on is a bit slidey and did not feel secure. My plantar fascitis was so tender i needed something softer

. Carolyn, Languedoc-Roussillon says

Average arch/heal support. Not cushioning at all. Honestly, my dr. Scholl's orthotic arthritic tri-support insoles (with heel/ball of foot cushion, arch support, joints) are nicer and cheaper. I think i'll stick with dr. Scholl's until i find something better.

T. Melissa, Minnesota

I think these insoles have really helped with the comfort level of some of my shoes (one pair they will not fit in at all) but they have not noticeably decreased any of the arch and heel pain i've recently been having. I had high hopes for these, considering they are so well reviewed. But i feel the price was not really justified. They are just okay for me.

A. Mathis, Reading says

Maybe it's my feet but these things are uncomfortable after 4 hours of walking. For the price i was hoping they would be comfortable but they are not again maybe it's my feet.

Z. Mable, Arizona

I bought these insoles because they were supposed to fit shoes that were tighter than running shoes. When i tried them in the shoes for which i bought them, they made the shoes too tight to wear. So the verdict is out on these insoles until i can test them in a pair of looser fitting shoes with removable insoles.

Q. Ruby, Luton says

I've have gone through the "break-in" process and it is now day five, the questions above don't allow choices for what i am currently experiencing. The insoles actually matched the length and width of the removed insole from the shoes being tested. The problem i am experiencing is the arch doesn't feel good, it feels like it is not located directly under my arch but toward the heal and that's what's making these insoles not perfect; don t care for the lump toward the backend of my arch. I was hoping my feet would be accommodated by now, but each day that goes by i m feeling less sure about the fit. I will continue testing for next two days and then call superfeet customer service to see if they have any suggestions.

I. Nellie, City of Kingston upon Hull

Unlike most insoles which have extra material to trim down if you have narrow feet, these insoles just assume your feet are narrow. For wide feet they don't fill out the shoe, meaning you're stepping on the hard edge of the insole unless you're standing perfectly square. On top of that, they are poorly cushioned and uncomfortable. A total waste of money.

S. Ophelia, Gateshead says

I ordered these for a new pair of shoes i purchased. I have used blues many times before, to much success. I have flat feet, and these have helped me in the past to correct my arch and straighten out my knee. . But, this order of blues didn't fit in my shoes. Not because it was too big, but because it was too small! the insole wiggled around side to side and creeked all the time. . I thought the shoe was just a wide one, so i returned the shows and purchased nikes at size 10. 5 (which is theoreticaly should have been to big for). The insoles were too small again! the last time i used blues, i put them in nikes that were the same size and they worked perfectly. . I don't know if it's money saving or something, but you would think that it would be smarter to overshoot your target size, so consumers can cut them back like you show on the box. . Now i have a pair of expensive insoles that i can't use, and my knees will go on hurting. Apparently the seller i got it from doesn't abide by the 60 day return policy, so i'm over it.

B. Irene, Massachusetts

I haven't noticed any serious benefits over any of the cheaper alternatives out there. In fact, the heel on these rides up in a funny way and i can just feel the edge of it. It reminds me that i'm wearing inserts and although not uncomfortable, it's not totally comfortable either. I tried in different pairs of shoes and get the same feeling. I think the heel edge should sink better into the shoe, and maybe round off a little more. I'll probably stick with the cheaper options

R. Adrienne, Newcastle upon Tyne says

Unlike the green line, i've found the blue insoles to be more hit and miss. When i can't remove the factory insole, they're usually the only choice, but i do wish they were offered in wide like the green series. This last pair of insoles was somewhat thin and a little narrow for the size 13 shoes i bought them for, so they haven't held up as well as previous pairs. If you only need a little support and have a shoe width they fit in, they're worth a try, but green is the better route for me most of the time.

. Josephine, Warrington

Good support, but a bit stiff. I walk on concrete for 40+ hours a week and put my feet through hell. I purchased these based off the good reviews, but i was left disappointed. . Initially, i liked these as it makes standing more comfortable, but they're a bit rigid and don't flex well with my feet. They might be ok for someone who doesn't have a lot of heel-to-toe roll in their stride, but they weren't worth the cost for me.

. Hannah, Trafford says

I am real disappointed in the blue superfeet, i wished i order the berry instead, now i am stuck with them . They are too hard, they do not feel comfortable, and they cause my legs to ache.

P. Guest, Rheinland-Pfalz

I got these to help with knee problems and stabilize my foot. However, they have way too much arch support, which i don't think i need. I tried to stick with them and wear them consistently but they just didn't do anything for me. Perhaps they help someone with other types of problems, but they weren't what i needed.

E. Julia, Worcestershire says

I am disappointed these did not work as well as the rave reviews. I figured if i was spending nearly $40 on inserts, the price of new shoes even, they would be worth it. I work 10-12 hours a day, and these do not relieve the pangs in my feet from standing on the concrete. I would give anything to find a pair of inserts that actually helps. These are just flimsy little pieces of foam. I didn't notice any difference when wearing them at work, my feet might start hurting an hour or so later than usual, but that is about it. If i still had the packaging i would return them.

D. Pearce, Hawaii

Pro - quality product that is well made and comfortable. Good support for arch and heel. . Cons - i am an avid runner and do not recommend these for running. They do not provide the additional cushion i was looking for during distance runs. In addition, i have been plagued with foot and knee pain since i started using this insert. I do not know if it is directly a result of the insert or something else, but i never suffered from any issues prior to use. I put these inserts in my asics gel nimbus. These were a new pair, but i have used the same running shoe for years. . In conclusion, this product may work for some, but was not good for me.

. Wimbish, Somerset says

I have used these over the past few years. I get a new pair every year when i purchase new running shoes. The shoes i get are great for cushioning but the insoles are thin and don't really support your foot in the shoe. These insoles make up the difference as they hug your foot inside the shoe and provide better stability. This year though i purchased the newest version of my style running shoe and noticed that the company i purchase my shoes from had completely re-engineered their insoles. I walked and ran in my shoes with the stock insoles and they felt great. When i received my superfeet insoles in the mail i went ahead and put them in my new running shoes and walked around and ran with them and they felt similar but not better than my stock running shoe insoles. In the past the superfeet insoles have helped really well but this year it doesn't look like i'll need them. . I give these 3 stars for a few reasons. I have been purchasing the superfeet insoles for 8 years now. They have helped me year after year but there are some flaws. The first flaw is durability. The front of the insoles, or from the balls of your feet to your toes, flatten out and wear out fairly quick. Mine usually flatten out within 4 to 6 months depending on my activity. I will jog 1. 5 miles 3 to 5 days a week depending on how busy i am. Physically i am in good shape and not at all overweight so i figured these insoles would last a little longer. Having the front portion of the insole flatten / wear out so soon, with what i feel is no where near excessive use, is nothing to be confident with. However the heel portion of the insoles most definitely can stand up to the wear and tear. They flatten out a little but maintain over a year. At the one year mark you definitely need to replace your insoles though as they will be worn out like a pair of dr. Scholl's from your local drug store. . Next is the shipping issues. When i can i go to the local running store and purchase the insoles. However, if the price is better online i will order them. If you order these insoles online don't be surprised when the package is destroyed when you receive it. The insoles are never harmed but they are sent in a plastic shipping bag and by the time they get to your house the box the insoles are in within the shipping bag will be destroyed and the insoles will be floating around in the shipping bag. I figured this was just a one time thing but this is how i have received all of my online superfeet purchases. . Lastly is the value. Years ago i had figured that paying $40 for insoles was worth it as shoe companies were still making garbage insoles for their shoes. Having had purchased these insoles over the past several years i have been more reluctant each year to purchase superfeet insoles (due to the quality issues) but i continued to purchase as the stock shoe insoles were not doing it for me. However, this year i did as i always do and ordered the shoes and insoles at the same time assuming that my new running shoe insoles would not be of the quality i require. Boy was i ever wrong. When i tried my new shoes on and put them through their paces i was very pleased with the results. I then tried the shoes with the superfeet insoles and came to the conclusion that shoe companies are finally producing quality insoles. When i did a side by side comparison of the supereet insoles and my new running shoe insoles it was easy to see why the running shoe insoles were so much better. So, in my opinion, there was no point in spending $40 on lesser quality insoles that would wear out in 4 to 6 months (especially on my light running schedule) when i have quality insoles already in my running shoes that will last me well beyond a year. . Do yourself a favor and try your new running shoes on and put them through their paces before you dump $40 on some insoles that will wear out in 4 to 6 months. You might be surprised. I know i was. I don't plan on purchasing these again as long as new running shoes continue to uphold the insole standard they have set.

N. Carmen, Kansas

I've used this type of insert for years in my hiking boots and they're great, but i got them for my formal shoes, and they're hurting the sides of my heels. I think it's because the sides of the shoe are not sturdy enough, so my heel sort of squishes out over the sides of the heel cup, which is hard and so digs in. I already returned one set and got them a size larger than my shoes, and this time i cut them to size so i can't return them. Like i said, in my hiking boots they're great, but i recommend getting them only in a store where you can try them out.

. Hurst, Arkansas says

Everyone's feet and how we treat them are very different. I bought these because my feet are fairly flat. I do a lot of hiking/backpacking and generally wear asics running shoes or merrell trail shoes. I tried the blue superfeet in both on various terrain. They just made my feet ache. No pain, just an overall ache and tiredness i have never felt before . If you have a fairly low arch ii'd suggest going to a local store to fit and purchase first. Get someone to fit you and make suggestion. Superfeet are well respected but getting a proper fit is crucial. Treat your feet well and you will benefit greatly. Stick the wrong orthotic in your shoe and you could end up with a variety of aches and pains.

F. Anderson, Alaska

Much firmer than expected, bought along with the "berry" superfeet insoles expecting to be able to return either one based on the advertisement for "free returns" on the listings. Be advised there are no returns for these insoles. The bottoms are so firm my foot hurt just trying them on. Superfeet insoles are great, but pick a type based on your preference for comfort.

M. Lawrence, Northumberland says

I wear a 9. 5 in women's, and according to the website it was "e" that i should buy, however i actually should have purchased a "d" thankfully i was able to cut it to the correct size.

V. Olga, Alberta

I bought these orthodics on the recommendation of my physician, as a remedy for running-induced plantar faciatis. They seemed to reduce the pain, but after two cortisone shots and the cessation of strenuous activity, the pain still persisted. I went to a chiropractor who specializes in sports-related injuries, and he told me that the rigid structure under the arch actually serves to weaken the arch because it allows those muscles to get "lazy. " makes sense. He recommended that i remove them from my shoes and go back to the original lining. One other thing: these insoles don't fit in all shoes. Sometimes the shoe becomes too tight, even when the entire sole lining is replaced, so the consistency with which you can wear the product may be compromised.

X. Eleanor, Brent says

These were referred to me by a podiatrist. I gave a three star because they fit my shoes just ok and after inserted my feet were too high (make sense? ) once i put the shoes on so they really didn't work well. That being said i only tried them with the shoes i use most so i'm keeping them.

G. Shawna, Wokingham

The support is there for my feet. I have flat feet. There is not enough cushion though. Lower-priced brand inserts offer more cushion.

K. Glenda, Kansas says

I worked with them for many days but ended up in so much pain i had to take tylenol for three days. The orthotic took up too much room in my shoes, both in width and in height. I wear a 7 1/2 medium width shoe and ordered the c style. It was hard to even get in and out of my shoes. It was apparently the wrong arch curve for my foot also. I tried the green ones and they are only for people with very high arches. I could not walk in them. Next, i will give the black ones a shot. I have plantar fasciitis. The orthotic made a bad situation much worse. You can't tell by simply trying them on in a store. You have to actually walk around in them a few hours a day for several days for you to adjust. I imagine once you find the right one you can buy several pairs for your shoes. The rest of my life may be spent in either sneakers or mary jane shoes with the strap so i do not walk out of them. Life gets complicated. No more sexy shoes again. My arch although not completely flat is low.

U. Sheila, Camden

Maybe it's just me, but i expected these to be better, seeing that they were also selling these inserts at kaiser i figured it must be a good product. I tried both the green and blue versions and they do not offer the support i thought they would and even worse for me is that they sme after usell! the original inserts that came with my ecco shows were more comfortable and did not harbour smells like these inserts do after a long day of work. While i really wanted to like them, after over a month i have to say it's just not worth it.
