Review for /superfeet black premium u premium insoles

Price was 34. An ex-football player past his prime (6'3", 360 lbs, size 13d, medium arch), i was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. My orthopedist recommended daily stretching exercises and orthoheel slippers to wear indoors (no more walking around in socks). What a difference! the slippers and exercises lessened my symptoms from the start and, over time, eliminated most of my discomfort, so i decided to find some orthotic inserts to improve my street shoes. . So far, i've tested:. 1. Dr. Scholl's massaging gel extra support. 2. Aetrex copper medium arch. 3. Spenco polysorb total support. 4. Superfeet orange, copper, black. 5. Powerstep pinnacle. 6. Powerstep pinnacle pro. . Each for two hours' total walking time over a few days in two pairs of my favorite shoes: new balance 606 hikers and cole haan loafers with nike air. . Dr. Scholl's massaging gel extra support: advertised for big & tall men, they didn't do much for me. While the extra cushioning helped at first, it helped less and less the longer i walked on them. I mentioned this to my orthopod and he told me the key to managing pf is not cushioning, it's support. Grade: d. . Spenco polysorb total support: remembering my doc's advice, i chose these for the rigid heel cup and arch support. Though quite comfortable overall, the arch support was a bit too low for my medium-high arches and the heel cup was insufficient support for weight. While they worked reasonably well for me, i believe they would a be better choice for lighter individuals with lower arches. Grade: b. . Aetrex copper medium arch: promising better arch support, these felt very similar to the spenco insoles even after walking around the block. I then swapped one of the aetrex insoles for one of the spenco insoles and walked around again. Only then could i tell them apart. The spenco offered a little better support for the mid- and fore-parts of my foot, the aetrex offered a little better support for my arch. Grade: b. . Superfeet: i was in an allen edmonds store and noticed the superfeet insoles. The clerk said many men my size have good success with them. I tried the orange and the copper dmp versions in the store. Finding the orange too high for my arches, i got a pair of the copper dmp. These are easily the most rigid of the insoles i've tried. And easily the best. Superfeet arch support sits farther back on the insole than other brands. This made a real difference in the support and comfort i felt walking long distances. I also found the medial post support in the heel did a better job than other insoles in combatting over-pronation. Neither the orange nor the copper are thin enough to work inside my allen edmonds dress shoes, so i tried a pair of the black. They work very well though obviously cannot provide the same level of support i get from the orange. Grade: a. . Powerstep pinnacle: while it seems well-made and offered good support, it simply did not work for me. The gel-based arch support sits too far forward and in the middle of the insole. The insoles felt like i had lumps of clay underfoot. After a few blocks of brisk walking, my feet began to fatigue as if i were walking barefoot in sand. Again, these may work for some people but they didn't for me. Grade: c. . Powerstep pinnacle pro: other wearers commented that the pinnacle pro differs markedly from the pinnacle, so i tried a pair. I barely made it a block before heading back home. Though more rigid than the pinnacle and with a better heel cup, the pinnacle pro was too inflexible through the arch and ball of my foot. These were the only insoles i tried that truly caused me pain. Of course, it could just be the contours of my feet, and for others the pinnacle pro might be great. Grade: f

The original factory insoles in my work boots (red wing) were getting worn out and this was starting to make my feet hurt after walking around on concrete all day long in our shop so i bought these as replacements because my boots are otherwise good. They arrived in a few days and at first i didn't know what to think when i took them out of their box. They are much thinner and much harder to the touch than i had anticipated and when compared to the old ones. But once i installed them and gave them a try i think they are awesome and very comfortable. They are made/intended to be trimmed to fit but no trimming was needed in my application. I think they feel better under my feet than the original insoles did when they were new and they were very good. Superfeet Black Premium Insoles Review (3400)

Great insoles, really helped me fit into my florsheim dress shoes a lot better with my collapsing arch, low-volume feet! price wasn't bad either, much better value than many other high-price insoles i've tried and unlike the cheapies like dr. Scholl's this actually has a truly supportive shape. I didn't have to cut these down at all although your mileage may vary depending on your shoe. -Y. Alba

  • These immediately made a difference for me. I am on my feet all day as a teacher and i was beginning to have severe pain in the backs of my legs/knees. I had no idea what was going on but it was seriously impacting me. Someone suggested to wear tennis shoes vs dress shoes. That made a little difference but not enough. My father recommended these to me and raved about them from his own experience. I wore them the first day and was pain free! incredible! i kept waiting for the pain to return day after day but i felt completely back to normal. I have since purchased another pair and only wear shoes with these inside them.
  • I love my new superfeet in black. I wear them everyday to work with my sneakers in the morning walking to and from the metro train. Then i put them in my work shoes at my desk. I wear them with all types of shoes for walking. I need to buy another pair so i don't have to switch them out every time i change my shoes. I have a pair i bought about 3 or 4 years ago, and i need to replace them. I have plantar fasciitis in both of my feet, and i have orthotics in my house slippers too, and i always wear my superfeet.
  • I've not been able to use these. I purchased them to put in my boots, but the bottom layer is so stiff, it won't fit. Unfortunately, there is a no return policy with superfeet insoles. The box was a little squashed because they shipped in a flexible not protected bag. So, it's not good for re-gifting. It's sitting on my shelf. A waste of $. . I have liked the pink ones for women.
  • I had mild foot pain from standing for a living - chef. I thought these might help. What ended up happening is that because i wore these for a day and a half i threw out my lower back big time! i was out for three days, unable to really move, let alone go to work. I guess a slight change to the mechanics of your feet can really screw up your lower back. I've gone back to my regular flat shoes and i'll deal with the mild food discomfort. . I tried both the blue ones, black ones and copper ones. Returned all three of them.
  • These insoles are just okay. They're quite hard so there's no shock absorption whatsoever. I put em in a pair of red wing boots that have a slim leather footbed for an insole, and they provide slight support but the prices of the superfeet brand appear wildly unjustified. I'm not sure i would recommend them or buy them again.

Superfeet Black Premium Insoles
Click to see NoticeSuperfeet Black Premium Insoles (3400)"Superfeet are constructed of a hard plastic shell in their back portion that is covered on top by a cloth-covered foam pad of varying degrees of thickness. I have tried three (black, blue and green) so far and found all three wound up being perfect in a different kind of shoe. Since they are rather pricey i thought i'd detail my experience and with any luck it'll help you decide which version you should start with. . I have been buying gel insoles for years and have always been a big fan of that luxurious cushion. However i am spending more and more of my time in outdoor activities and, having high arches, i know whats in store for me if i don't address arch support. Gel insoles do not do this well. Superfeet are not cushy thick gel insoles. You won't get that kind of short term comfort but you will get the long term benefits of arch support. If transitioning from gel insoles. Don't freak out and give these a chance before you run in the other direction. They're comfortable, but in a different way. . My experience has been that the effectiveness of a pair of superfeet varies depending on the shoe you are working with. I wear 10. 5 d shoes and weigh 245 lbs. The e size works without any trimming in all of my shoes. I just slip them in. . I originally added a pair of green superfeet (high arch, thick-for-superfeet cushion) to my lowa zephyr 8" boots to replace the thin-but-reasonably effective insole that came with that boot. After two full days i decided green was too much arch for me, and the cushioning, while nice, was just a hair too much for my feet to have a roomy fit in the toe box. I moved the green soles to a pair of bass casual lace-up shoes that my feet sit pretty deep into. The green soles were perfect there. They have stayed in those shoes, which i often wear all day. The arch support has broken in a little, being a bit over the top for the first day but not noticeable after day 2. After this break-in i tried moving them back to the lowas and no dice. Still not right for them. . The lowas had some arch support built into their structure already so the green added too much. To try again i went in the other direction and purchased a set of black superfeet in e (low arch, almost no cushion) and plugged them in. This time, they fit perfectly in the boot and provided a very modest amount of arch support. In fact, in those boots i was basically doing only a little better than the factory insoles. The point of the exercise was to improve support, so i tried the blacks in a few other shoes and they were the perfect addition to my more or less flatfooted leather dress loafers. . My third and last pair (so far) was a set of blue superfeet (medium arch, medium cushion), again in e. I plugged these first into some tennis shoes and - very comfortable. The arch this time nicely hugged my feet and gave good support. Put them into the boots and that finally squared them away. Nice and snug against my arch without feeling like i have a baseball stuffed in my shoe."

Superfeet BLUE Full Length Insole

I have a very hard time finding shoes that are comfortable to walk in all day. I was originally sold these by a store clerk and, at the time, i thought he was just trying to rack up a higher dollar sale as they weren't cheap. After wearing them for six months in my shoes however, i was sold. Just bought this second pair from online store so i can replace insoles in my other shoes.

Superfeet blue were designed to deliver long-lasting arch support and comfort to a wide range of footwear.

Superfeet Blue Full Length Insole (blue active d) FAQ.

I really did not expect these insoles to work. My foot hurt most of the time , i had a falling arch due to a weak tendon . I felt i had tried everything. It took about two days and i was already forgetting about my foot hurting. I just wish i had found these sooner. -Notice from N. Veronica, Maryland

I feel rather well after my 'sore back' walk (3 miles) with these inserts in my regular sneakers. Surprised since they are so much thinner and lighter than the inserts i have been using. My back does not hurt any more than it did before. Will continue to use these inserts!

- R. ZeldaI used to use custom orthotic arch supports i had made while i was in high school. Those things tore up my shoe and caused my. Ankles to roll as i got older. I had a partial knee replacement and my surgeon recommended these or powerstep pinnacles. I tried both. The pinnacles didn't fit me well (arch was in wrong spot). The superfeet blues fit well enough. I'm not sure if they have enough arch support for me, but overall, i'm pretty happy. These are my 2nd pair. The first pair lasted about 6 months. The old ones were getting pretty worn down so i use them in my yard shoes now.

I've only had these for a little over a week, so i will post a longer term update in the future. At the moment though, i must say that i really like these insoles. I switched over to a standing desk about 2 years ago, and within the past year, i started experiencing pain in my feet - possibly because of just the amount of time that i've now spent standing pretty much every working day. I didn't change my shoes, which are rather old now (more than 5 years), and simply putting in these insoles seems to have made a difference. I agree with the other reviewers that choosing the right fit is likely critical - i have pretty average feet with average arches, so the blue ones seem to work pretty well for me. . I generally now feel a healthy amount of cushioning around the heel as well as the outer edge of my feet, so this has definitely helped with the pain i was feeling - i usually wear low profile sneakers that have very little sole cushioning, and what was there in my shoes has worn down over years of use. . I am happy with this purchase overall, and will post an update in the near future, but for now, i am comfortably able to make it through the entire day on my feet, and boy is that a nice feeling!

Superfeet GREEN Full Length Insole

I wear a women's size 11. I have this product in 3 different pairs & they are very comfortable. I originally had a d & the fit was a little too short for my shoes, so i bought the e's. My pt therapist & other rehab that i have been to, every single one said not to go to the 'better feet' store & to use these. In addition, i did some research & i spoke with my foot & ankle surgeon said that you should feel the arch support towards the heel of your foot. It may sound crazy but for me it works well. This is another reason i bought e's as it fits just as my doctor had said. . I have found this product in a few stores & i sized them first, then i came home & did some price comparison on line & found online store, like the last pair i bought, i waited here & they went on sale & i saved $7 + tax + free shipping. This may not be the case in your neck of the woods. . I recommend & i will always purchase this item.

The green offer affordable, professional-grade orthotic support, performance and comfort for anyone who wants their footwear to fit and feel better.

Superfeet Green Full Length Insole (performance) FAQ.

These inserts were actually shorter than the inserts in my size 12 timberland boots. They are advertised as size men's 11. 5 - 13. . If they were any shorter i would have sent them back. I trimmed a small amount off the curves on the sides. Despite being a little shorter they fit just fine and are extremely comfortable. I love the arch support and like how stiff they are on the heel. Great product that will hopefully last 1 year or 500 miles of walking as advertised. -Notice from Z. Connie, Darlington

Try these for at least a week, if nothing else. . Last year i went to edc in vegas, stood/danced for about 30 hours over the course of 3 days. When i finally got home, i found that i had lost sensation at the tip of both big toes and had noticeable back pain. . So this year i decided to try these. Wow. My back and feet never 'broke a sweat. ' it was kind of unbelievable that i didn't feel any pain. In fact, i'm considering getting a few more pairs for my other shoes. As a test, the following weekend i went without them to a festival where after about 1-2 hours of standing i had to start stretching and sit down and my back was very very unhappy. . Bottom line is if this worked in the blistering vegas desert where i pounded the pavement for extremely unusual stretches of time, this'll work pretty much anywhere. I will suggest that you wear them for a few days before really committing, because it changed my gait slightly and it took a few days of getting used to it.

- . HakalaGreat product. I have flat feet along with several other issues and these are great (have ordered 4 sets to date). I can wear superfeet all day with no issues. I also have a pair of custom made foot supports that cost over $200, and while i am sure there are some differences, for the cost difference, my feet are just as "happy" at the end of the day with these as the custom built. Have tried a couple of other products over the years and they didn't measure up to superfeet. These were recommended by my foot doc a couple of years ago for aching arches and feet as an option to the high cost for custom's (since my insurance wouldn't cover) . When buying be sure you get the proper product as they have several colors for specific foot issues unlike a lot of the other retail options available where one "fits" all.

Can't believe how well these fit. I've worn custom made orthotics for decades and couldn't believe when my podiatrist said i could order them on online store. They were easy to adjust to so must have been similar to my custom ones which cost many times more than these did. So far they're doing good. Will be interesting to see how well they hold up. And of course being from seattle the bright green color is perfect. Got them in 2 days and they were just as described.

I wear steel toe (safety) boots for more than 8 hours a day walking for almost 6 hours of those 8+ hours and standing for the rest, i went through several dr. Scholl's inserts from the gel, massaging, active series and so on. Although the dr. Scholl's we're ok, my feet would ache when i got home and when i would wake up the following morning. . After purchasing superfeet, i was immediately relieved of the aches and pain i was having. I can literally pull a double shift if i have to wearing these because they really are that comfortable.

I bought my orange superfeet for hiking and they make a huge difference, making my feet feel less tired after a long day's walk and offering good arch support that helps my posture. Before using these, i had never used orthotic insoles, but now i wouldn't hike without them. The orange superfeet are, in my experience, much the same as the green except with thicker padding for the forefoot. Orange superfeet have a high arch. Do not buy these if you have flat feet or the arches will dig into your feet, and these are made with very hard plastic. Superfeet have a whole range of options to match the style of your foot, and each different colour is a different shape. . You have to be very careful to get just the right fit with superfeet. If at all possible i recommend going to a store and testing out the different sizes. The key is to buy superfeet to fit your arch length, *not* your shoe size. I am a shoe size 9, so if i went by superfeet sizing then i would need the "d" (7. 5-9). Yet i have long arches so i actually use the "f" (11. 5-13). I went to an outdoor store, tried all the different sizes and the salesperson helped me figure out that the larger superfeet fit perfectly to my arch with no space between the sole and my foot. The smaller insoles left a small gap in my arch and would, over time, become quite uncomfortable. Superfeet are easy to trim with scissors (you simply cut them to match the regular insole of your shoes) so don't be afraid to buy a much larger size if that's what fits your arch. . It's also important to make sure your heels fit well - if the heel cup is too small for your heel, the hard plastic will dig into your feet and you won't be wearing them for long! conversely if the heel is too big, there won't be the support you're looking for. When you stand on the superfeet, your heel should fit snugly in the cup and you'll know when it looks and feels right. . Superfeet can be hugely beneficial but only if you take the time to research and get the right fit. Ordering these purely based on your shoe size may prove to be a painful mistake. I wouldn't order these online unless you are able to either try them in a store first, or you are able to order several sizes and then return the ones that don't work for you.

Superfeet-orange-premium-insole-(orange-men) set picture

- . BethanyWorth the price paid. I've been using it for 6 months now for work. I use cheap non-slip new balances working in a kitchen standing, walking, and running 8-10 hours a day. I bought these because the original insoles have become permanently squished and didn't give any arch support. This lasts a long time, gives useful cushions, and excellent arch support. My legs don't get sore at all after work. I also have another pair on my training shoes, which i use to work out. I do a lot of jumping and a little running, and exercises which requires me to be on my toes a lot. I also do a lot of side to side and forward - back movements. These, again, help keep my legs and back supported.

Skiing in vail, i encountered real problems with what i thought were my boots. At the end of the day i realized i wasn't going to be able to continue the next day. Went to a ski shop with the intention of buying new boots (certainly not an inexpensive proposition in vail). Sales person suggested i try superfeet before buying new boots. I used them the next day and was absolutely amazed at the difference. Still using the same boots and skiing comfortably.

The F.A.Q. for Superfeet Black Premium Insoles (3400)

These help a lot. Initially i had doubts due to numerous attempts with no success in finding comfortable shoes and inserts that would reduce discomfort on my feet. I will never wear shoes without super feet again.

These are awesome. I've thrown them in place of my doc marten inserts (both rainboots and leather ones) as well as my winter boots. I've also transferred to my chucks and they are great! very thin and did not have a tight squeeze feeling when they have been placed in shoes (removing original inserts). In addition to a few exercises (fasciitis) and on/off night time splint wearing; i have had no problems with huge flair ups. . When i purchased these, they were roughly 25$, guess it was a typo as they are not 40+$. . These are for everyday wear!

I had bought a pair of the green superfeet, and though they said to try them gradually, i had no problem wearing them all day. The only problem i had was that they were high volume, so they worked fine in most of my tennis shoes, especially the ones i could take the in situ arch support out of, but they didn't work at all in my nicer work shoes, like ballet flats (which are horrible for feet but just practical for the outfits i have to wear to work in the warmer weathers). My shoes just fell right off with the green ones in those kinds. So i got the black ones for the low volume and they work in most of my flatter, non-athletic shoes. Not all but oh well. They feel fine all day too. In fact, the only times i haven't found them to be comfortable is if i'm standing on my feet. When i'm walking, they feel great and i don't feel any signs of my plantar fasciitis. If i'm just standing in place for a while, the inner arch does feel like it's pressing up and then it begins to feel sore. Has it cured it? don't think so, but i rarely feel it anymore, especially not when i have them in. I wish superfeet made flip flops.

I love these insoles. I was turned on to these after i was experiencing some planter fasciitis problems. I just finished the book born to run and started to think about my feet. On theory in the book is that contemporary shoes have to much cushion and our feet have lost the appropriate muscles to support our bodies. Superfeet attempts to correct this problem with their insoles. The first time i tried these out, i almost gave up on them. My feet hurt so much, i could barely walk. I decided to give them another day. The next night i saturday down and started to rub my feet (mainly my arches) and i noticed that my feet had some small muscles that weren't there (or at least i didn't notice them) before. I thought this was a little strange but remembered born to run. I thought (and still do) that there might be something to this book. I started to examine this insoles and realized that these are only offering enough support in the heel cup to properly align my foot, while forcing my feet to create new muscles to better support my body. I have a pair of these in every pair of foot wear i own. That includes running shoes, hiking shoes, soccer cleats, snow boots, dress shoes and loafers. Every new pair of shoes i purchase, i also purchase a new pair of these insoles. These black insoles work great for low arches.

J. Mable, Thueringen

I'm flat footed and these insoles pretty much changed my life. My doctor recommended them after i came to him with chronic ankle pain and found out my flat feet were causing an impingement in my ankle. Long story short, after athletic activity i would barely be able to walk due to the pain. . I tried these out and felt instant relief. I was shocked because i thought i'd have to get expensive, custom insoles, but these did the trick. Now i can play sports and work out with no pain, ever. . I'd recommend changing these guys out when they wear out. They go faster than the shoe usually, so i usually change them when i wear through the ball of the foot.

V. Sarah, Kirklees says

I wear a running shoe that is size 11 2e. I purchased size 11 of this insole and they were to short in the length. I thought that was weird. I then put them in my casual shoes and size 11 of these insoles were perfect in them. So, if you find these insoles are not the right length, its because of your shoe. I purchased this size about for my 11 shoe and fits perfect without trimming them. Don't blame this insole company if insole is too short in length. I purchased the black, as i am totally flat footed. Highly recommend these. I have happy feet now!

X. Bertie, Rhode Island

I don't understand how these work so well. I have metatarsalgia (ball of foot pain) and have tried a few different gel pads to relieve the pain, to no avail. Superfeet have eased the pain greatly, despite the ball of the foot part of the pad being only millimeters thick and not particularly padded. I really get it, but who cares? . . Note: the kaiser pharmacy was charging over $60 for these. I got them for less than $50 from online store (they are discounted to about $28 right now on online store. Think i'll buy another pair! )

. Powell, Ohio says

There is no better insole, despite what you may read on online store, or in the drug store. I have 3 pairs of superfeet (blue, green, and black), and these are by far the most comfortable. They just fit my feet perfectly, and they fit into almost all my shoes, including sandals! my plantar fasciitis doesn't bother me at all when i'm wearing these, and the black color hides in shoes well.

. Wilson, Saarland

I got these due to the fact that my fallen arches had begun to clearly cause pain on the soles of my feet. This really affected me when i played soccer and it led to shin splints which are extremely painful to play or even walk through. I eventually found these and they work great for soccer. I use these in a pair of nike tiempo legend 6s and these fit wonderfully. Obviously these take up more space than the relatively thin insoles provided by nike but the cleat still fits me albeit snugly, which might be a positive depending on how you prefer to wear your soccer cleats. As a result you won't be able to use these insoles in smaller boots, so if you own a pair of mercurials or puma evospeeds prepare yourself to spend on a roomier boot. A leather cleat will work more easily when you consider the fact that leather can expand while a synthetic material will keep its shape until it stops working. . Long story short, these are good for soccer but only in a roomier cleat.

R. Whiteman, Oklahoma says

Just what hubby needed for plantar faciitis - doctor recommended and much cheaper on here than rei or other stores. Hubby cut them a bit before realizing he didn't need to, so try them in your shoes first. Can remove and use in different shoes daily. Will order more for his two main pairs.

C. Stacey, Herefordshire

I had plantar fasciitis. My feet were killing me. I decided to give superfeet a try. To my delight, i was completely pain free after about two weeks of wearing superfeet in my shoes daily. I started with the superfeet blue, but they made my dress shoes too tight. Then i switched to these low profile superfeet black and they were perfect for my dress shoes. Now i have about 5 pairs of the superfeet black and i keep them in all my shoes. I've had them for about two years and they don't look like they need replacing anytime soon. . I was not accustomed to having proper arch support in my shoes. It was an unusual sensation at first - i felt like i was walking around with lumps of clay under my arches - but, my feet will quickly adjusted and after a few days i did not even notice them.

K. Cindy, Washington says

After trying out yellow superfeet, dr scholls, shock doctor and gel inserts, i can finally say i have found a winner. I used this 3 times already for both ice and roller hockey. Perfect fit in my skate. 6. 5 alkali and 6. 5 graf. And perfect fit in ccm jetspeed. No foot pain after playing anymore. . I did the dr schools foot analyzer and saw i have flat feet. (320 or 420 for insole). The hockey shop only had yellow superfeet. And that was terrible for me. Shock doctor left me with pain after playing, gel inserts were just too heavy. Definitely buying these from now on for hockey.

B. Olga, Utah

My mom randomly gave me a set of these a few weeks ago and i loved them so much i looked them up on online store and bought a second pair. I've had "bad feet" since i was a teenager with plantar fasciitis, foot pain, etc, and i've had all kinds of orthotics and custom inserts made with little-to-no success. I was skeptical about these, and waited a few days until i threw them in my shoes. Boy am i glad i did. They give me a sense of having good feet positioning and strong "anchors" when i'm lifting weights in the gym and the foot pain i would usually get on long walks has all but gone away. These things are great for me. I have only used them in running cross trainer type shoes; i haven't used them in work/dress shoes. I'm glad i stumbled on them.

I. Theola, Louisiana says

I have a slight seemingly normal arch but my right medial sole has been giving me issues and i suspected plantar fasciitis. I tried rolling massaging it and rolling tennis balls on my arch but nothing really seems to help. I bought these insoles and placed them in my sneakers for running since i get the most pain in the area during my runs and they have helped tremendously! although when i'm not wearing them and walking around the house barefoot the pain comes back, but since i can't be wearing the insoles 24/7 i'm thankful that when i have the insoles they relieve it somewhat. On a side note though when i bought new sneakers at roadrunners after my purchase i discovered that they do custom insoles for 30bucks more and i've noticed that they actually relieve my pain even more (not immediately at first but after couple uses), i kept both pairs since i have two running shoes that i rotate through so this way i don't have to keep switching the insoles. But just wanted to mention it in case this didn't work for everyone, i still don't regret this purchase!

F. Juliana, Tennessee says

These insoles are the greatest shoe hack ever! . When a friend told me about them i decided to give the greens a shot for my running/athletic shoes. I wear a 10 2e new balance and the green are absolutely perfect for me. Turned a comfortable shoe into the most comfortable shoe i've ever worn. When i finally wore out the first pair of shoes i just transferred the greens to the new pair and they are still fine. So they can last for multiple years of daily wear. I'd assume less time if you get them wet, sweat excessively or otherwise abuse the shoes. . When i got a new pair of vans old school i would come home from work and my feet were sore. By the third day i was in agony and decided i simply couldn't wear those shoes. Turns out the new vans have easily removable insoles (unlike older models) so i dropped in a pair of black superfeet because they were said to be lower profile and work well in dress shoes. Vans don't have a lot of vertical room so this seemed like a good choice. It was. Now this great looking pair of shoes is so comfortable i can walk all day in them and not even a hint of pain. . Yes they are a bit expensive but they last for years and the health and comfort of my feet is more important to me than trying to save a few dollars.

D. Edna, District of Columbia

I have flat feet, so i've been trying to take it upon myself to follow my doctor's advice and walk with insoles. These do work - the arches are strong, and you can feel them on your feet. It can get a bit painful though, when you first try it, so you do need to ease yourself into them (although this seems to be a normal part of the process, and not a problem with the product itself. ) your feet are getting used to relying on parts of the foot that it doesn't normally use so much, and by lifting up your arch, it's giving it a work out. . If i were to buy again, i would buy the green superfeet instead. I think these are good if you have only mildly flat feet. I actually ordered these because i tend to wear low flat shoes (like vans and keds) and was concerned that a green superfeet would not fit, because it is a medium sized heel. Actually, you can take out the gum insole that the shoe comes with - that's right, rip it out- and the shoe should happily fit either a black insole or green one. . Looks great inside the shoe - can't even tell it's an insole. The material feels sturdy too (much sturdier than a gel insole), and have no complaints!

L. Jacqueline, Bretagne says

Inasmuch as they almost always have to be trimmed to fit , it is not clear why you ask how they fit out of the box. With regard to selection, i have always bought the black insoles because that is what what was recommended to me at a sporting good store. I am not sure how qualified the clerk was. The black insoles have worked quite well but i really don't know for sure if that is the right choice. At another time, when i went through the online q & a, the answer came up to use the blue insoles. I have now ordered a set of blue insoles just to try them out too. It is difficult to know which color is correct because i don't know if i have what is considered a high or moderate arch. I guess trying several colors is the way to find out, but that gets kind of expensive. How will i know when i hit the the 'eureka' color?

G. Elanor, Camden

I have something called " posterior tibial tendon dysfunction" in both feet. The symptoms are pain in the ankles, swelling, flattening of the arch and an inward rolling of the ankles. If nothing is done it progresses over time, painfully. After dealing with chronic pain for years, i decided i could tolerate it no longer, and saw a podiatrist. He diagnosed my dilemma as pttd. He suggested i try superfeet insoles before buying rx insoles at $425. 00. He said if my feet felt even 20% improvement i should seriously consider getting orthotics made. I do and i did. It will take a month for the orthotics to be ready but in the mean-time i have less pain. The superfeet will be my back-up when the orthotics come in. My condition is fairly advanced, should have done something about it 10 years ago.

Z. Elizabeth, Hawaii says

I walk on concrete every day 5 to 6 miles a day. I have been fighting foot pain for about 6 years. I have tried about 15 different kinds of shoes. And know with these insoles after 2 weeks all of the pain is gone and now just a numbing feeling still there but i hope that to will go away to.

M. Sandra, Norfolk

Packaging was damaged when shipped. I returned the product. The insoles were very nice though. I had just bought two new pairs of reeboks within the last year and the insoles were worn down but the actual shoes were still in great shape. I have flat feet and i am on my feet for 12 hours, three times a week. These insoles make a huge difference when i am at work and my feet aren't as nearly tired as they used to be. I would highly recommend these!

O. Paige, Cheshire says

These insoles greatly reduce the pain from my motron's neuroma. I've used them for about 9 months and the pain is almost completely gone. I have used them in danners and other boots and are low-profile enough to work with converse ii (not regular chucks) and other slip-on sneakers. They are easy to switch between shoes, just be sure you buy shoes with removable insoles. I have a couple of pairs to switch out. For reference, i have a high-volume foot with a high arch an wide forefoot. I wear a size 9 and the d fit well in my boots and needed a little trim to fit the sneakers.

N. Diana, Hounslow

The 'f' black was the proper size and and arc support elevation for my needs. I purchased several pair for use in shoes and sandler with and without insoles as originall supplied in the shoes. Where possible i removed and replaced with the superfeet insoles. Since my sandler were open in the back i used velcro strips to maintain location. I also trimmed the fronts to 3/4 for use in the sandler and boat shoes. Full insoles also required minor trimming for certain other shoes. I was fortunate to select a arch height with minimal trial and error. I began with a set of less costly, off the shelf from cvs and finding comfort measured arch height. After watching a you tube video describing and measuring the entire superfeet line, i compared the cvs arch height to those described on you tube. Although less than 2 weeks wearing, i believe they have helped alleviate foot, ankle and lower back discomfort.

. Joanne, Wakefield says

I got these to put inside my belleville 102 tactical minimalist boots, the boots are naturally wide, but since they seem to only have men's size they were extra wide for me, cuz i'm a girl. The insoles are so hard to the touch i didn't think i spent my money wisely, but i did! just enough extra stuff to make the boot fit better, without changing the fit and purpose of the boot. Very happy with these.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

N. Gilmore, Colorado says

I thought these would help provide comfort with high heels and prevent my foot from slipping forward to the front of the shoes. I could only use them in one pair of boots that were wide on me, but they didn't seem to make the boots any more comfortable, just a bit tighter. Unfortunate because they are so expensive. I have used similar insoles in running shoes to help with pronation, and perhaps that is what these are designed to do. I will continue my quest for insoles that cushion heels and hold my foot in place. If i could return them, i would.

G. Alberta, Suffolk

The size was perfect but these are absolutely horrible. It's like a plasticized cardboard and provides zero comfort. I had them in my shoes for a total of 5 minutes before i ripped them out. I also am not able to return them so far. I've email returned support since there's noting in the return policy indicating these are non-returnable. The page itself said prime & free returns but that's a lie. What a complete waste.

J. Campbell, Limousin says

I used to be a superfeet devotee, but i've since found greener pastures. Superfeet do certainly offer benefits; they are very firm, can last about a year of daily use while still providing integral arch support, and can be cut to fit the precise shape of your shoe. However, i simply cannot validate the cost anymore. I currently use powerstep insoles as a replacement and find them just as impressive in terms of arch support, but they are nearly half the cost of superfeet. They also offer a firm base of support for your arch, come in a variety of arch heights, and last for about a year of daily use. Even better, in my opinion, is the fact that they have a thin layer of cushioning that superfeet does not, making them just that much more comfortable. . Perhaps superfeet have their own time and place and work better under certain conditions, but for daily use of walking and running, i would choose powerstep any day.

T. Anonymous, Massachusetts

I have flat feet and tried these out. The fit was horrible! extremely uncomfortable. Then online store had free returns, with no questions asked and the return would not process. It kept saying the product was not eligible for return. I had to call online store and push it that way.

P. Rebecca, Surrey says

My chiropractor suggested these superfeet shoe inserts for my metatarsal issue in my left foot. They did not work at all for me-plus be really careful when cutting these to fit your shoes! if you cut too much then they will not work-it's an expensive lesson to learn at $40 per pair-and then not to have them help the original issue on top of that made it really frustrating. I'm sure they work fine for many others that have other foot issues.

Z. Valdez, Brandenburg

These are advertised as being good for dress shoes. When i put these into my dress shoes, they became far too tight and pushed my instep up against the tongue of the shoe in a painful way. I bought them because i have flat feet and need arch support. The problem with this is that the insole is thick throughout your foot and not just at the arch, which makes the shoe too tight. Instead i am going to try to use pedag balance insert, which seems to be better for arch support in dress shoes. . Also, you can t return these after you have purchased them. So now i m left with something i can t use!

. Wade, Peterborough says

I can't really give a review of these, because the ones i ordered didn't fit me. I am a size 10. 5, and ordered the "e" size insole (which covers 9. 5 - 11 men's shoes), but it was too narrow in the heel and the arch wasn't long enough. I probably need the "f" size, just for a wider heel cup and extended arch. . Accordingly, don't think that you can just order your shoe size and be set - either try them on in a store first (recommended) or order two sizes at once. But, trying on in a store, you'll also be able to try all the different colors - they are very different from each other. . One other note - i don't think superfeet are right for all shoes. I was going to use these in some hiking boots, but the added height of the insole under my feet messed up the ankle support (my ankle was lifted above the boot's area of maximum support. )

I. Alice, Oregon

They're okay. I was just looking for a tiny bit of filler for some nice shoes that were a little loose, but the next size down was much too small. These have some stiffness that i didn't need/want. Ended up getting some non-reinforced inserts at allen edmond's.

L. Mahood, Arkansas says

I have flat feet (zero arch). This arch is nearly perfect because it doesn't press into my sole like the green version. The insole is thin and narrow so its best suited for dress shoes. Takes up noticeably less space than the green. I guess the technical term is it has a lower profile. The ideal insole for flat feet in casual or athletic shoes would be a thicker-sturdier version of this insole. I don't know why insoles with arches are marketed for those with flat feet.

H. Marguerite, Stockport

The size was fine, just super uncomfortable. I expected them to be a little cushy, but they aren t. I have very flat feet and my podiatrist recommended these specifically and said i d either like them or hate them. Giving it three stars because i honestly think the fit and comfort is different for everyone and i don t think it s a bad product, just wasn t the product for me.

V. Alma, Shropshire says

I had higher expectations for these. For the money, the quality and comfort of these insoles was underwhelming. There's little or no padding over the orthotic heel cup. I tried them for several weeks before pulling the plug.

. Peggy, New Hampshire

First, the good. They seem very well-constructed. Now, the bad. They are incredibly uncomfortable (at least for me they were). I am suffering from plantar fasciitis, and though the support of these insoles is helpful, they are rock hard and offer no cushioning whatsoever. Also, they changed the geometry of my legs, apparently, and after using them for a very short time, my knees and shins were incredibly painful.

E. Lindsey, Hillingdon says

These are okay. I'm not convinced they are worth the price. The green ones are much better, but were not available on online store for some reason. These feel good in the heel, but nothing special in the toe. I would not buy this again.

M. Mary, Kingston upon Thames

I wanted to like these and i did before i switched them into a small shoe. I end up ruining them from cutting it but that's my fault. I did not like how the arch felt in the middle of my foot. Upset i can't get a refund. Would reconsidered purchasing these if i knew it was not refundable.

S. Lynette, Saskatchewan says

Caused a squeaking in my nike running shoes i could not resolve. Tried patience and tweaking to no solution. Went back to original equipment insole.

W. Cathy, Idaho

Gives good arch support but uncomfortable all day. They have no cushion at all. Insole is hard not flexible. I am on my feet 14+ hours a day as a exc chef at a luxury property that has me running all over this bldg . I have worn them regardless for the past 4 days. Thinking i needed to break them in. But today half way thru my shift i ended up putting in my old insoles till i find a better replacement, i cannot handle the foot, knees and back pain that has started with these in.

Y. Candy, Louisiana says

Definitely improved the fit of my casual lacoste sneakers, which have no heel support for my flat feet. These seem very durable, and that's why i'm paying $45 for an insole. Before i could only wear those shoes for a couple of hours maybe, now i can wear them for several. But after that, i wanna take them off. I was expecting a lot more comfort for the price, but they are a significant improvement and will definitely last longer than cheap dr. Scholl's. . Edit: a few months in, these are starting to cause problems. They initially improved support in the shoe, but they're basically hard pieces of plastic. After a few hours of wearing, my feet (especially my heels) are in extreme pain. Zero cushioning in these insoles. These are not for everyone. Had to take off 2 stars.

U. Valencia, Haute-Normandie

I wear a size 9 with medium width for hiking boots. These insoles size d for men's size 7. 5 to 9, but the toes box of these insoles are very narrow that my big toe and little toe were hanging on the edge of the insole. Very uncomfortable when hiking with these insoles. I tried to exchange for a bigger size, but online store didn't allow me. Very disappointed. I do not recommend these insoles to my family and friends to buy them from online store.

F. Kathlene, Brighton and Hove says

I need to clarify. These are decent, though a bit overpriced, compared to some similar models that are similar at walmart and such. I got them due to reviews showing great relief for plantar fasciitis, which i have. The arch support is less than i'd hoped for (i know, everyone is different); i needed a bit more for full support, but i'll make them work. Most arch supports feel hot since they don't absorb moisture, and reflect heat back; these are no different. Be sure you have shoes that ventilate from the top or sides, if you can.

X. Pamela, Utah

Insole is well made and fit as expected. I did buy these for dress shoes and they do work with the original insole removed. Not as comfortable as my powerstep originals but they are more padded and did not fit the dress shoes. Heel was ok but forefoot not well padded/supported. All in all they are helpful ( flat feet) but not ideal for me.

A. Audrey, Luton says

All of my shoes are "low profile". Most women's styles are, so i was really looking forward to adding some much needed comfort to the majority of my shoes. These superfeet do not fit into most of my shoes and the ones they do fit into make them almost too snug to wear. I'm really disappointed. I'm on a tight budget and they're not cheap, so i regret buying them.

R. Wilson, Devon

I used this insole for my clinical rotation. Which means i stand for 10+ hours a day. After a few hours, it actually starts hurting and does not provide much support after an hour or so. It's not very cushioned for your feet. And my heel actually started hurting. The product overall, was not up to my standard. I thought this would provide me comfort for the whole day, unfortunately, it did not.

K. Delgado, Stockton-on-Tees says

I purchased this product to support flat feet. I was told by my massage therapist that unattended use of flat feet leads to calcium deposits near joints. This ultimately leads to painful conditions that typically needs surgical intervention. I bought superfeet after reading great reviews about it. It does fit well for my feet but i haven't seen any difference in knee pain or lower back pain with continued use. One of the reason i waited a week to write a review. For folks who aren't aware of flat feet implications, flat feet puts an additional pressure on knee and lower back joints as the arch is unable to support the load of day-to-day activities. While the product is good, i am rating it 3 stars for no effect in what the product is supposed to do - support the arch.

Tried this in a couple of pair of shoes that are low profile and fit snug. I give this product an extra star because it does indeed fit well inside shoes that are low profile and tighter fitting. Other than that, there are no pros for me. The heel cup is awkward and its like there's a firm edge where the plastic cup attaches to the rest of the insert. I can feel it on every single step and the longer i wear them, the more they irritate my feet. They also don't provide any noticeable support, so there pretty much useless. I realize they are supposed to be the thinnest and least supportive version of superfeet, but really, other than the firm edge irritating my heel, its like i have nothing else in my shoe. I have the superfeet green and they are not bad, but i would not recommend the black version to anyone.

I ordered a pair of the (7. 5-9). It fits well with my 8. 5 converse. I can walk comfortably for a couple of hours easily. . But, be careful when you choose the size from the drop down. There are 2 options that are exactly the same, but with different pricing:. $36. 13 - "d 8. 5 - 10 us womens / 7. 5 - 9 us mens": (as of 7/26/2014). $47. 81 - "d7. 5 - 9m / 8. 5 - 10w" (as of 7/26/2014). . Those two options are exactly the same size, just the size info is reversed (women/men vs. Men/women). Not sure if that is an data entry error or some some sort. Don't be a fool like me and pick the expensive one. :p. . Other than that, i highly recommend this product. I've owned 2 pairs by now.

I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and my doctor recommended "super feet" to help. After looking high and low i found these as the least expensive ones and now i know why. This actually made my foot hurt more. I wore them most days for about a month before i gave up. I did end up purchasing a more expensive version that does seem to help a little with my pain.
