Shoe Goo Repair Adhesive Fixing Worn Shoes Boots, Clear, 3.7-ounce Tube (Shoegoo) 1539

Review for /repair adhesive fixing shoes 3 7 ounce

Price was 4. I use this to patch the sole on the heels of my sneakers. I wear out heels before the rest of the shoe is done, so i get some more life out of the sneaks by smearing this stuff on the worn parts. Despite being careful to close the tube tightly, the tube is a little larger than i can use before it cures in the tube. Inevitably, a bit of the goo is wasted.

Foreword

I ordered the 3. 7 oz squeeze tube of this stuff after my work boots had split across the bottom. It has a simple opening at the end with a foil seal that you use the pointy part of the cap to initially pierce through. The first thing i noticed were strong vapors, so be sure to use it in a well-ventilated area if you get headaches from fumes. . I squeezed the goo onto a plastic knife and used it as a putty knife to fill the split at the bottom of my boots. I let it sit for 72 hours, and afterward was pleased with the results. The split sealed up nicely. I wore the boots for about two weeks before noticing i had re-split them. Be sure to use a generous amount and take into consideration how flexible the material is if using them on the bottom of boots. These boots are extremely rigid, so they don't have much give when i bend them. I think it will hold up better if i apply more into the split and let it dry while slightly apart. . I decided to give some other old shoes a new chance at life with this stuff. I used it on some other hiking shoes and tennis shoes that were splitting at the edges of the sole on the side. After letting it dry completely i was amazed! the goo adhesive had become a hard, transparent material between the two split materials. I tried separating them, and it would not budge! i am very impressed. I would advise for anyone to use a generous amount. I know i will be ordering more of this stuff because it is allowing me to get much more mileage out of shoes that i thought were done for. Shoe Goo Repair Adhesive For Fixing Worn Shoes Or Boots, Clear, 3.7-ounce Tube Review (283765)

The previous questions have nothing to do with "shoe goo' which is a plastic shoe repair glue. It works very well on all of the shoes i have tried it on (mostly gym shoes past their usable life) and i have gotten up to a couple of extra years with it. Carefully clean the surface you are going to reapair, first vwith water, and then with alcohol ands let is dry thoroughly. Apply, following the instructions on package, let dry, and you are good to go. Ramarkably durable product. . Now, as far as whether it provides good arch support, i don't know what to tell you. -T. Repair Adhesive Fixing Shoes 3 7 Ounce Shoes

PROS
  • This is a must for shoe repair. Especially in this day and age of fancy shoes with tons of factory glue keeping them together. I use it probably about once a month to fix someones shoes and keep them functional/looking good. A little bit sure goes a long ways. What i do is i put a dab on a paper towel then use a tooth pick to apply it wherever it is needed. If necessary i use wood clamps or something to hold the glued section down (if necessary). This has made some of my shoes last as long as 5-6 years of regular/heavy duty use.
  • Amazingly sticky but that is what one would want in such a produce. I had a pair of nb shoes that had one toepiece come detached. This is a pretty high-strain connection but this stuff managed to fit it back seemingly as good as new. The glue is almost clear so if a bit oozes on it won't be too visible on most shoes. If you get it on your fingers it may take some work to get it off.
CONS
  • Not sure if it was operator error, but did not keep my sole together completely. And i had shoe goo coming out the sides, so i know that i put on enough. I'm sure another round or two will do the job though.
  • We had hoped this would work to re-attach the soles of a pair of shoes that had separated. Unfortunately this did not hold and actually only left a horrible residue where applied. We were forced to go to a shoe shop to repair the shoes. Not sure what this is supposed to do, but mending soles of shoes is not one of them.
  • I have both a 1-oz and a 3. 7-oz tube of this. This bonds well depending on your prep work and the materials you re bonding. I use this to attach heel taps to shoe heels. When the shoe heel is more worn out, i also use shoe goo to build up the heel, then i position the heel tap over the built-up heel. I have a pair of boots from 2009. The uppers are in excellent condition so i just keep attaching heel taps to the bottom and will do so until the uppers eventually wear out. . What i do not like about shoe goo is how weak the plastic cap is. I used a tube in aug and dec 2016 then kept it in a drawer. I took it out feb 2017 to use again. The tube was hard. When i examined the plastic cap, it was cracked in several places exposing the adhesive to air. . People, remember to cover the opening with aluminum foil or plastic wrap before placing the cap back on so the plastic cap doesn t get overly exposed to shoe goo which would cause the plastic cap to weaken and crack. How incredibly idiotic is it to use a plastic cap that cracks in so short a time rendering the adhesive useless for more than one or two uses? i have an e6000 tube that i ve been using for more than a year the cap is still intact and the adhesive inside is still liquid. I should remember to save the stronger caps from my other used-up adhesives to replace the weak caps that are on the shoe goo tubes.

shoe goo repair adhesive fixing Shoe Goo Repair Adhesive for Fixing Worn Shoes or Boots, Clear, 3.7-Ounce Tube (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

Shoe goo is wonderful stuff - kind of a cross between model airplane cement (including the smell) and silicon rubber. Bonds to almost anything, lasts a long time, even on shoe soles which are truly tough punishment for any kind of glue, and has extended the life of many pieces of my footwear from boots to flip-flops. The only negative thing i can think of is that once you open a tube, even if you are good about replacing the cap, it doesn't seem to last as long as a "factory sealed" new tube. Nothing drastic, but i've noticed i replace an opened tube after a year, but a never opened one will be fresh and sticky even after a few years on a shelf. The real reason i wrote this review is because online store wanted to know how well this product "fit" - how long i can "wear it" - how was the "width" and "arch support" , and i just couldn't resist checking a few boxes for them. Lol

Click to see NoticeShoe Goo Repair Adhesive Fixing Worn Shoes Boots, Clear, 3.7-ounce Tube (Shoegoo)"With a name like shoe goo - the usage of this adhesive is pretty obvious. It seems to stick rubber onto a leather sole without any problems and stays on for a good 6 months before the edge starts to come lose. A simple dab on a tooth pick works well to touch up any lose soles. In hindsight, i should have gotten the black version as all my shoes have black/dark soles. One tube manages to do 3-4 sets of soles for me."

(0) Question: Sport shoes split laterally between heel and rest of sole, right where it flexes when i step. will shoe glue be flexible or will it stiffen the shoes?

(1) Question: The sole of my wifes ugg boots style came off, do you think it'll work on these?

(2) Question: Will this stop leaking in soles of less-than-top-quality boots (artificial materials)?

Boot-Fix Shoe Glue: Instant Professional Grade Shoe Repair Glue

Unbelievable how well it works. Nothing else i've tried compares. No clamping needed, dries in seconds, and the repairs i made to soles and uppers are holding up really well so far. I was going to buy this glue sooner but thought i could save a few bucks and bought another glue that was also rated well but cheaper. The repair with that one was more difficult requiring tying and clamping and after a few weeks wear it came apart again. So now that i've told you, you can save yourself the trouble and make the right choice and buy this one. Now that i know, i wouldn't use anything else. It's worth every penny i paid for it.

Boot-fix Shoe Glue: Instant Professional Grade Shoe Repair Glue (Boot Fix) FAQ.

Fixed my sandals! i really liked them and was dismayed when the sole came loose. This glue adheres and dries quickly and is flexible enough when dried to allow the sandal sole to flex normally. -Notice from U. Michele, Hartlepool

This stuff is truly amazing! . I wasn't sure how effective it would be at repairing a set of hiking boots with a separated sole but the results were much better than i had anticipated. In the past, i had used goop for similar repairs with poor results. Boot-fix, on the other hand, seems to me more like an epoxy than a rubber cement. The resulting repair is as tight as it was when the boots left the factory.

Boot-fix-shoe-glue:-instant-professional-grade-shoe-repair-glue-(boot-fix) set picture

- E. PatriciaThis glue works extremely well-and it's number one quality is that it dries quickly and that you don't have to clamp it. I needed something to reattach loose soles on some old walking shoes-and this boot glue did not disappoint. I've also been able to use it on some broken pottery-outside stuff-actual pots-as it does dry very quickly and didn't need any clamping. Good product-you can put your soles back on. I had one pair of shoes where the entire back end of a sole was flopping around-i put the glue on the exposed part of the shoe and underneath the sole and then quickly put the shoe together and got my foot in it -to make sure it dried in the right position. I put my weight on the shoe evenly and waited about a minute and it was dry.

Does keep your shoes in shape! be aware, though, his product is drippy and if you get it on your fingers allow them to dry separately and it will wear off in a couple of days. This glue has kept my cheap shoes in shape for use.

The F.A.Q. for Shoe Goo Repair Adhesive Fixing Worn Shoes Boots, Clear, 3.7-ounce Tube (Shoegoo)

I like how online store makes you answer the shoe fit/comfortable/width/arch support questions for this glue, as if it were a shoe. Hah! shoe goo is amazing, and does what it's supposed to do. I originally purchased this to repai a sole that was coming off of my tennis shoe. The shoe i repaired lasted another year, before the rest of it fell apart. Shoe goo was still going strong. I just used it again today, after it's been sitting in my drawer for over 2 years. Cap came right off, and the goo came out as if it were new. I highly recommend this for any shoe repair.

This stuff is a miracle for your old sneakers/trainers. I have a old pair that have at least three additional years of life on them due to shoe goo. Online store insists that i comment about how this product fits, so i said it was "too small" since you could always use more!

Best shoe goo repair adhesive fixing worn shoes boots, clear, 3.7-ounce tube (shoegoo) in review

I think the word shoe in the description ellicited this weird question. It doesn't really fit, but it is a great shoe glue. I reglued my work boots to the soles where they had come unattached. It has been months now and they are still sealed perfectly. This glue gets 100% thumbs up! i caked it on 1/4" thick to seal all the edges and it is holding up great.

So online store is making me answer multiple questions about shoe fitment before it let's me finish this review, let me be clear this is not a pair of shoes and i do not recommend wearing it on your bare feet (or socks for that matter). I've used this product several times over the years (often to save my sports shoes from my skating and it's never failed. The product comes out translucent and sticky, dries in a hard shell binding solidly to whatever you put it on (provided it's not smooth). . I used this tube to repair a pair of boots i'd relegated to yard work. The soles had begun to separate but the boot leather was still in great shape so i dusted them off, peeled the sole back and squeezed in the tube and smooshed them back together. So far so good and honestly at this price point if i get another season in the yard with these boots then this tube will more than have paid for itself.

I. Whiteman, Pays de la Loire

Used this product many years ago, and had forgotten about it. Noticed the sole of my running shoes was separating. Got this, applied it, and i am all set. I reckon it will hold until the shoes are worn out. This is the good stuff. It is a challenge to apply, but the fix is worth the mess.

P. Aldana, Birmingham says

Miracle glue- this repaired a tiny strap that holds my high heel sandals on- there's just one strap 1/2 wide over the front to the toe- so there is a lot of pressure pulling on this little strap. And it came loose from in between the inner and outer sole. I peeled it open a bit, used a toothpick to spread some of this in, clamped it shut tight, wiped off excess, waited 48 hours and they are better than new. The first time i wore them, i was scared, brought emergency flip flops in case they fell apart, now i don't bother-. . And that's not all it does- i've used it to fix holes and big tears in pvc pool floats- works great, and finally to patch a hole in my weedwhackers gas tank! i have no idea why some rodent chewed a hole in my gas tank- who could think that tastes good? ! but they did- and craftsman doesn't make the replacement part anymore - so i glued a piece of plastic over the hole- this lasted a lot longer than the 2 part epoxy repairs in the past, and its still going strong. . Finally- i opened the tube 6 months ago- put vaseline on the threads so the cap won't stick as per the instructions and sealed it in a zip lock bag for storage. When i opened it again today it's like brand new, hasn't changed consistency at all. . Shoe goo is the new hot sauce- i put this $ % on everything, lol!

I brought a pair of ugg's 'lesley' waterproof suede wedge knee high boots and the insoles are actually removable (not sure if it's supposed to be like this). After about 1 month of wear, the insoles kept moving upwards whenever i walk in them and they were also stretching out of shape, like it'll mold to the shape of my heels instead of staying flat. This glue helped so much, and a little goes a long way. I was initially worried that 3 oz won't be enough, but you really just need a little dab of this stuff around the heels and let it set overnight. The key here is to put something heavy on top of the glued materials to keep them in place overnight (at least 24 hours) and it'll stay glued well! i just used 2 bottles of fully filled shampoo bottles, 1 in each boot to put pressure on the glued area. And the best part is i can't feel anything solid underneath my insoles afterwards, the glue spread quite evenly underneath and i believe the pressure from the heaveu object definitely helped )

This stuff is messy but effective. I had tried to repair a pair of shoes with epoxy and it worked for about a day. Shoe goo cures to a much more pliable and soft bond which works really well. . The only downsides are that this stuff is very messy and the tube it comes in is leaky. I would like to see it offered in a syringe type applicator so that it's both easier to apply and easier to store.

X. Rowe, Indiana

This stuff is amazing. If you have a favorite pair of shoes, this is worth having on hand to make a repair. It is clear, easy to use, and holds like cement. If you have kids, you definitely need this! kids are rough on shoes, and it can be expensive to keep replacing them. This will hold fabric, leather, rubber, you name it. I've saved a ton, just patching up play shoes where the rubber has come pulled away from the rest of the shoe. Not just a money saver, but also a safety issue. I didn't want my son running around with loose anything on his shoes. After shoe goo, the shoe is better than new. The hold is that amazing.

S. Wells, Basse-Normandie says

This review is being done after i waited 48-50+ hours on one sneaker to repair a small . Quarter sized hole in the bottom of the sneaker with two layers, and just applied another two layers (about 3 hours to 4 hours apart each time) to an even older pair with the same problem but over a half-dollar sized hole . Maybe even two 1/2 dollars side by side. An extreme case). . Pros:. - this stuff is sticky but it doesn't burn like some super glues (still have another pair that i need to see if i can do anything with that i may have ruined due to glue hardening to a point and hard as a rock). - this comes out . Eh . I have only seen something like this once and it was something to patch up an old roof . Not saying this is bad . Just . . Think of a really thick icing on a cake i guess. I did get a little on my hands and i have to say its easier to get it off right away then if you say wait 2 to 5 minutes . Still easy though but its easier to try not to get it on you, and if you notice a little bit just use a napkin or something to get it off and it comes off pretty easy that way. - i have only tested (i will come back and edit this review) on the one pair (repair done on one sneaker). I obviously did not put any weight on it from application until i put the sneaker on today . Afterwards it did get dirty (to be expected) but it so far . Held together well . I do have a repair i hope i can do (hope due to an issue i will get to later) and really that is just one area around the hole that i'd like to add a little more . Goo too (sorry really not trying to make puns ). Its holding but i guess i wiped a little too much off . Possibly my fault. . - the second pair that i just tried to fix hours ago (aka it will be a few days before i even wear them to test) . Things came out alot smoother. I really didn't have to smooth anything out really with the way i applied the goo . When i did do it alot i think i messed it up, so i put more on . I should have just left it . No big deal though. . The point is if i just left it with how i put it on the hole (with a few layers of thin cardboard that i will put a thick shoe insole over when i wear them . For support where the whole was) and a good amount around the hole (sort of "a bead or two . As some youtube reviews would say"). It would have been good without me doing anything to really smooth it out myself. . - it dries like rubber (close enough anyway) and not like super glue and hard as a rock . I have another sneaker i'd shoe goo where i had super glued but so far i have to figure out how to remove the hard as stone super glue that. Lets just say hurt my feet (i will leave that there) really bad when i wear that formerly super comfortable pair of 4 year old (decent shape) skecher sneaker. To repair a tiny hole shoe goo would have handled no problem i may have screwed up that one sneaker . . My fault in the way i "repaired" something so small but "i just wanted to fix it before it became a much bigger issue" type of thing. The point is that its not hard as a rock when it's fully dry from what i can tell . It is flexable to mold itself to how and what you shoe goo-ed . But (again so far) not flexing right off the thing your trying to hold together. . Cons. - the smell/odor - there is a smell of a . Maybe paint or primer kind of smell the first day or so (that even went away before the 48 hour time was up ). I would put the footwear your putting this on . . Or whatever your trying this on outside or in a well vented area (i have it on a porch since its the rainy season at the moment). Some people may have a big problem with this . If you have a breathing issue . Just be aware . I could smell it when i was doing the repairs but nothing bad since i was in a well vented room one time and outside the other time . Again just be aware. . - while i was careful not to push the goo to the bottom causing a rupture in the tube . When i was trying to get the goo from the bottom of the tube to the top . Somehow where there was no goo at the time . A finger punctured the tube . This was right at the end too . I have a few layers of duct tape over it pressed down hard . Is this good enough to keep say 40% left of the goo (another pro of the 4oz tube . You can get a few repairs . Even a few layers depending on the repair . If its a small hole then you will have way more than enough ) inside and normal . If the air is getting to the goo anyway and the rest will just turn solid . I may not even know for a few days. Only time will tell if i just lost part of a tube due to this. . Tips i found from other reviewers. - i did not once use an ice cube to smooth the goo out though in many different places even people that used pieces of cardboard like me said they repaired a different pair of sneakers with shoe goo and "the ice cube vs other methods makes things even easier ". I dont have first hand experience with it but i saw that in a number of places . The ice slides over the goo vs sticking to it. . - using a lubricant such as vaseline or something over the top area of the tube does seem to help (not that the cap got stuck on me) prevent getting the cap glued/shoe gooed shut on you. . My experience. - note this is the part i will try to update. - after a few mile walk in south florida summer heat and humidity . - it looks dirtier (to be expected . I care if it hold up . Not how pretty the bottom of my sneaker is . The non-gooed parts dont look super clean after all) . Also. - the goo looks a bit flatter . Not like its going to come apart of something . Just flatter . Though this is the first time any weight (me . ) has been on it since the repair 4 days prior . Hard to say if it will last . (i know alot of people want to know this . Hence i will try to update either way what happened). But so far it's not flaking on anything . Other than the fact its clear (i choose clear over the all black goo) . It looks like a somewhat . Rubbery part of the bottom of the shoe. . For now . I cant say if it will last without experience one way or the other but . I'd say "take a look at this". If this holds up . I will be very happy with it . I cant say it looks like a complete waste so far and from what i read of other reviews . The big con is the tube rupturing and not that the goo didn't work . Justsaying on that last part . . (removed last "update"). Update after about 30miles on the pair of four-year-old sketchers that had a decent (half dollar coin. Maybe . A tad bigger? ) hole in the right sneaker . I cant tell if the shoe goo is wearing down on the fact that it is clear is messing with my head (since i can see the cardboard piece i put in where the hole was . So far . It is still holding up . And many of the walks were in the south florida heat in the middle of the summer . Not counting were i got things messy (far from the hole, but all "one piece of shoe goo") i still can run my hand across it and it just feels like part of shoe (where that big hole use to be) . Between that hole fix and a goofup with some super glue turning hard as a rock ( repairfail) on the same pair only the left sneaker . . It has turned a pair of sneakers that have been used for four years ( and while not in the best shape . They really are not bad for sneakers that old) and were unwearable back into sneakers i wear regularly . Funny thing is today is the first day i wore my white skechers (same "model" but bought say 2 years later) that i put a third coat on a hole that was going to start forming in the same spot . This pair i put the third coat on just to use the shoe goo up before that hole in the tube caused the goo to turn hard as a rock in the tube. ( ironic . That it never happened anyway) . I had been using that four-year-old pair to go for walks and it never really hit me until today how i couldn't use that old beat-up but in good shape, pair of sneakers . But between wanting to test the shoe goo as much as i can . It didn't hit me that i have been using the pair i couldn't wear anymore. I still cant find one of the sandals i need to repair but when i do . I am likely going to order another tube . Sure 4oz will probably be overkill but . Eh . I like having it on hand. . Added an extra star to my review. . Late review addition - pictures showing a) my year and 1/2 year old skechers that was starting to get the same hole my 4 year old pair had already . This is what it looks like after a few walks in the hot florida sun in july . . It doesn't look pretty but the patch is holding great and showing no signs of failing in any way b) my very worn four-year-old pair and the patch on the hole (i should have taken a pre-shoe goo picture) . This was an extreme case and this sneaker made the pair unwearable due to that hole. The brown you see is pieces of this cardboard (so the shoe goo wouldn't just shot into the shoe . I also have a few pieces of old but still good shoe insules for just such an ocastion) . It does look dirty but after . I dont want to oversstate it but . Maybe 35-50 miles over the course of a few weeks walking in the hot florida sun . It is holding just fine and just like the sneaker in picture a . Showing no signs of coming apart. . In a and b i put "two coats" of shoe goo on . The second after at least 24 hours to 48 hours before i did . Then even after the second coat i let it "setup" for at least another 48 hours. Some people say they wear the repaired sneaker out in less than 24 hours and the shoe goo doesn't hold under stress. . C) is the front view (yes its uneven and i may get more shoe goo to try to even this and the back out . Thats coming in another photo) . I could have been neater but this is a four year old sneaker i want to keep for when i am likely going to have to possibly step in mud, sand, flooded yards (heavy rains here), puddles or even just when i am likely to get caught outside in a downpour . Fit wise they still feel great. . D) back part of the four-year old pair i mentioned in the comments for c/third picture . That brown in the center is shoe good that iwas going to drip too much out of the tube so i decided to put it there . It doesn't do anything and there was no hole there but if i get another tube i can fill that out and make it even again. . E/f (fourth and fifth picture) are the repairs i just did a few days ago . If you look close you can see black where it was starting to peal apart . This i did as a preventative fix . The black is because i did not push anything together . If i did when i was applying the shoe goo, it probably would have looked even better . Went out for two, 3+ mile walks in the south fl heat . Everything is holding fine . Not that this issue was an "issue" . Not yet anyway

I am getting this clear shoe goo glue to repair my daughter's casual sandals. It works as expected. The glue has very strong bonding power. The transparent (or clear) color is nice not to stain the area where the glue gets squeezed out (well. I put too much glue. ). . I also use it to repair the broken plastic blind of the my window blinds. It does the job well as the clear color does not leave mark to show repair sign. . I just feel each house should have one of this shoe goo glue around.

Z. Kimberly, New Brunswick says

As the old lady says "i use this s. T on everything. Beyond shoes, it is a great replacement for silicone, as it will not only seal, . But sets up much, much faster. I have only found one clean dry surface that this stuff will not adhere to, and that is. Clear vinyl tubing which will (i assume) outgas over a period of months, and release.

What's funny is i was asked some questions about how these shoes fit when i did this review. This is not for shoes. Anyway, i love this product! this is my favorite. Initially i bought it because my rain boots had cracked on the sides and were not functioning at all. I love these rain boots and i wasn't willing to throw them away so i thought i'd give shoe goo a shot. I'd heard about it in college in an rei setting from some outdoorsy friends. It was amazing! i spread the goo in layers over the cracks and i let the boots sit for a couple days. They definitely keep the water out now. I've also used them to repair other shoes with astounding results. Something to keep in mind is if you're using the goo in a visible area, it's going to be visible. This is not invisible, magic, disappearing goo. There are layers of clear plastic on the sides of my boots now where i applied the product, but i am totally fine with it because the shoes work again. If you are caring a lot about what your shoes look like and you don't want plastic gobs or plastic layers to be seen, you might just want to buy some new shoes.

A. Yvette, Tennessee says

Great product! i had these pair of black timberlands that i have had since 2002. They been through everything from hunting, fishing to major storms. They started separating in the heals on both boots last year and after a snow storm this year the split almost made it halfway down the boot. I applied this all around the seams and pressed the fabric down on the inside to remove any lumps, let it sit for 2 days with some weights on it and let it dry. These boots feel stronger then they did new. I started wearing them to work (im on my feet all day) and they still feel great. Wore them in the rain walking through deep water and no leaks!

This clear shoe goo adhesive worked great for repairing a pair of my wife's switch flop sandals. The soles on both were separating at the toes where the original bond between the layers had let go. I cleaned the area between the top and bottom layers out with isopropyl alcohol and used a plumber's acid/flux brush to apply the shoe goo and held the two pieces apart for a couple of minutes to allow the adhesive to partially dry, then clamped the two halves together overnight with spring clamps and some pieces of 1/2" plywood. The next day i trimmed off as much of the excess glue as i could with a razor utility knife and used a belt/disc sander to cleanup and reshape the toes of the sandals. They came out looking great, like they had never been repaired at all, and are also holding together very well.

D. Carol, Warrington

I bought a tube of shoe goo to repair my favorite croc flip flops. I accidentally pulled the toe post out and they aren't the kind that comes out the bottom of the shoe. (anyway, that is another story) so, before tossing them, i decided to order some shoe goo from online store. It arrived quickly. Using an old screwdriver to assist, i squirted a little down the toe post hole and spread it around with the screwdriver. Then put some goo on the toe post flaps and waited about 2 minutes. Then using the screwdriver again, i forced the toe post flaps down into the hole. Waited 24 hours and bam, success! i have been wearing my favorite flip-flops again now for 3 days straight. Saved my croc flops. New loyal fan!

J. Rita, Shropshire says

I used it to glue back together some heels where the sole had separated from the heel portion. I'd only worn them 2-3 times over the course of 10 years, so the glue on them aged and it seemed like a waste to throw them out. I figured 4 bucks was better than 20+ to replace them. . Pros. - it's really strong stuff. - the excess dry glue is really easy to remove without destroying the adhesion between the targets. - for this type of glue, it's quick-drying. (you don't have to hold it for an hour. . Cons:. - as with most glues of this type it has really strong fumes. You might need a fan, unless you plan to leave them out for 24 hours. - the tube is difficult to squeeze. - the tube is made of metal, so you need to be careful of how you squeeze it. - the glue doesn't spread evenly from the tube. (i recommend a palate knife, or an extra paring knife to spread it/get into hard to reach places. ). . Some tips:. . - the tube is hard to squeeze. It comes in a metal tube container. I'm not sure if this is because they are afraid plastic would stick to the glue, or if it's another design problem, but because of this, squeeze from the bottom, not the middle. It'll make your life easier. . - also, i'd use gloves to apply it-such as latex or something similar gloves. Doesn't say that on the tube, but it can get messy and it's not supposed to be on your skin. . - it's also not easy to apply, so a thin palate knife, or some such would have helped tremendously to spread thin and evenly. . -it says to not breathe in the fumes and use a well ventilated area, but even with a mask the fumes are pretty strong and you have to hold the thing together for at least 5 minutes with heels (because of how the heels are not flat). I kinda wish i had a clamp, or had done the front first and then the back. . - you might want to invest in petroleum jelly so you can get the cap off again. The instructions say to do this.

G. Dorothy, Merton

It is basically a multipurpose glue that you can slather on your shoes to stick things back together. It's waterproof, so you can use it on a lot of other repairs like furniture, or add grip to surfaces like the foot of a hiking stick, or on a skateboard. It's very flexible, but for shoe repairs i'd expect 1-week to a month at most if you're fixing soles with this. People usually recommend cement for that kind of application, as it can last up to 7 months. If you're creative you could probably get a lot of use out of just one tube. I'd estimate maybe 4 medium projects before it's used up. It's toxic until dry, so make sure you're not touching it without protection and you're in a ventilated area. I recommend using an ice cube to smooth it out because it won't stick to that (don't use the ice cube in your drink afterwards).

R. Reed, Hawaii says

Very strong and effective - my old sole separated almost completely from the base of my old but expensive boots, and this glue saved them. The sole is re-attached as good and strong as new! the glue itself is more of a clear thick gel, very much like silicone joint sealant. If you have a large area for it to cover, i recommend using something like a popsicle stick to spread it where it's needed. A very handy product, and a strong adhesive.

B. Anonymous, Ohio

The shoe goo is a good product. I used it on many of my shoe heels that were falling off, and it worked for awhile. And then the heel would start falling off and i would have to reapply a little bit more. Be careful when applying it, because if you apply too much, the goo look will dry as is, and you will be able to see the goo holding the shoe together. It also has a very strong smell, so make sure you don't sniff it too much and give yourself a headache.

M. Jessica, Quebec says

Hilarious that online store asks me how this fits. . This stuff extends the life of your soles, but be sure to layer it on in thin layers. New layers bond with the old, making something stronger than one huge layer. Also, just because it is dry to the touch doesn't mean it has hardened, and if you walk on it too soon, it may peel off. Give it a full day to cure, and best to do it outside because there's a strong smell of what i think is toluene. Whatever it is, it smells like old time model airplane glue.

O. Nellie, Manitoba

This glue fixes shoes! i use this to fix the rubber soles that are coming undone from the shoe itself. Its durable and long lastings. This sutff stands the tast and sticks tight! i use it all the time! i have boys that are hard on their shoes and this makes those outdoor shoes used for running. Aroud outside last much longer when the factory glue gives.

Top /repair adhesive fixing shoes 3 7 ounce Review

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

N. Claudia, Knowsley says

There are 2 things that should be changed with this product. It should come with a spreader like the type that is used with autobody filler but only 2 inches wide in order to coat the soles and heels evenly. The glue tends to glob on coming out of the tube. The only other thing that i would change to improve this product is adding about another ounce to glue to the tube. I barely had enough glue to do both soles and heels. My suggestion would be to purchase 2 tubes of this if you're going to be replacing soles and heels on 2 shoes. The glue has other uses besides shoes.

. Walsh, Yukon Territory

Didn't work for me on a pair of ugg slippers. Tried to reattach sole after it came off in the dryer. Wound up having to scrap them cause couldn't reattach sole with shoe goo.

U. Guest, Haute-Normandie says

This is not what its cracked up to be. Some of the reviewers say it holds anything and you can never get it off once you use it. Wrong, i've used this in conjuction with nails to put cleats on 2 pair of shoes and they didn't even last a day on the shoes before they came off. I've had stronger epoxy's than this, gorilla glue is stronger than this, soooo no i'm not a fan of this shoe goo.

. Ophelia, Waltham Forest

This is okay, it doesn't stick to my shoe's sole as well as i anticipated but that could just be the type of rubber used on it. I was hopping for something that was a bit more durable than hotglue but i'd say this fell into about the same tier, which is fine, but i know i'd have to make frequent reapplications, even after letting it set for a few days, verses once every so often. I think this really just works best on flat shoes with really flexible rubber soles and not boots?

E. Hannah, Merton says

It worked great for repairing my heel that was falling apart but unfortunately couldn't use it again a year later. I put the lid back on tightly and stored it in my coat closet which is room temperature. I wish they would come in smaller amounts, perhaps 1 oz, so you can just use it once.

Z. Cageen, Wisconsin

I've gotten a couple more weeks out of several pairs of shoes with this stuff, but it's not going to extend the life of your broken shoes much more than that. Stuffing newspaper inside the shoe while it's drying helps keep the shape, and wrapping your shoe in plastic wrap can help hold the two things you're trying to glue together. But after all is said and done, if your shoes are falling apart, you just need new ones.

I. Meredith, New York says

Even though i called the company, and was told that it would work well with sbr, a couple of test samples didn't hold at all. I coated both surfaces, and applied pressure overnight. The pieces pulled apart with less than 1 pound of pull. The shoe-goo "skin" pulled right off, cleanly, leaving no residue on either piece. Utterly unusable. . The product probably works well with some types of rubber (or there would be no positive reviews at all), but obviously not with all types. And the manufacturer hasn't bothered to test and document which ones, so if you still plan to try this product, plan also on doing your own testing.

This product is very hard to squeeze out the glue and very messy. Need to find a better glue. Also, why online store asked about how this product fit (small, fit as expected, large etc). This is glue not shoe.

It probably works fine, but be careful of the packaging. The end of the tube had not been properly sealed so as soon as i squeezed the tube, goo poured out the back and went absolutely everywhere. Definitely check the tube for defects before using.

I used some on my shoe then i lost it when i moved. After a couple wears my shoes came apart again. If you're trying to repair a tear in the upper of your shoe as i was this probably won't last long.

This stuff is okay but a bit difficult to work with. It's kind of boogery when you try to apply it and almost impossible to apply it to small places or where precision is needed. I bought as a replacement to this canoe glue that someone had gave me and i loved that stuff but it ran out and someone suggested shoe goo as a suitable replacement. I think this would be okay to use as intended to fix shoes though. I'm giving it 3 stars based on my usage so take that with a grain of salt as it may work wonderfully for repairing shoes.

The idea is good and it works, but for a short term. Over time, the material looks dirty and starts peeling off (at least partly). It is possible, i may not have applied it in the best possible way. But, if that is the case, i probably need a different product that is easier to apply.

Worked on some shoe issues & not on others. Strong odor. Don't get it on your skin. . I was able to re adhere fabric on a pair of my favorite wedges so that was a + for me. It also fixed a pair of sandals that were coming undone from the sole, but when i used it to fix the bottom of my tennis shoe which had a piece of heel tread/ flap coming off the bottom it didn't really hold. I tried with two pairs: on the first one it just ripped off in the middle of my workout and the other i had to reinforce with the glue on the outside as a seal, so it wouldn't undone and it looks horrible, but it held. Let your shoe sit for 48 hours to set. I think this helps. . The actual shoe goo bottle is pretty large so you get multiple uses out of it which is a plus. Just use the vaseline on the cap so it doesn't seal shut. Stuff is thick when it comes out of the bottle and comes out really quick i made sure to set it upright when open and using so it didn't ooze everywhere while i was trying to repair my shoes. I like the product, but i wouldn't say i am in love with it. I will try to fix myself before sending off to the cobbler or just getting rid of a pair of shoe so it does the job.

Bought to repair a set of women's dress shoes, the soles were coming off. First attempt failed, sole came completely off again. Second attempt i prepped the soles first and completely covered the area of adhesion on both shoes. Still wouldn't hold. It's not adhering to the hard "rubber" soles. That said i also used it to fix a couple of shoes that the soft rubber treads were coming apart, that seems to be holding so far. So, might just be that material they used on the shoes, and might be why they failed to begin with. Fyi, this is the same stuff that is sold in hardware stores for clear flexible pvc adhesion. Works well as a sealant.

Does not hold on leather! used glue to adhere a strap that had pulled out of my boot. Glue held for less than 24 hours. Had to tape the strap to my boot to get through the rest of my work day, which does not look professional. Will not buy again.

It sounds funny, but at the end i have used this product for everything but for shoe repair, because as a shoe repair glue it just simply does not last long enough. I applied the product and wait 48h to use the shoes as directed. The "repair" last like three days before i have to reapply the glue again. At the, this works like pvc glue, nothing else, so i have used in some home improvements task i am carrying at home.

Doesn't work the best, will last for a little while depending on how much you wear your shoes, but isn't a permanent fix, better off buying new shoes

Serves it's purpose, however the application process always creates a mess. It would be helpful if it came with a reusable brush or some type of application tool that would keep the goo from getting all over the place.

Bought this to repair the sole on my sneakers, but did not meet my expectations. I followed the directions and was initially pleased with the results, but the bond did not hold after repeated use. The sneaker i was attempting to repair is used for exercise.

It made me answer questions about shoes, but this was shoe goo, not shoes! so my initial answers above were senseless to get to the review part. I was hoping this would work better than it did. I had a couple of shoes with dehiscent soles and on none of them did the shoe goo really provide a good seal. They are better than they were, but overall i am disappointed.

S. Jacqueline, Lambeth says

It kinda worked. The sole on my boots was partially coming off and this kinda did the trick. The sole is sticking but the edges are not as flat as i would like them to lay and i am afraid i will have to fix again.

This is holding well enough on my shoes. The only problem i have seen so far is that the packaging is poor. Ideally, the opening where the glue comes out should be a tapered nozzle rather than the blunt opening that it is now. It s very difficult to get the glue onto the exact place that needs repairs unless the two pieces are completely separate. Skip this and go with the stuff with the correct nozzle.

Bought this to repair a pair of nike slides that i'd had for years and that were falling apart. The strap came loose on one side. I was excited to find something that would keep them going because they are almost impossible to find anymore - i think they have stopped making them for women. I glued them and clamped them and left them to dry for longer than the directions recommended. It held for about 6 months. So it works fair, but is not a permanent fix.

L. Theola, Oklahoma

It should have proper nozzle for spreading the glue. While, using it , some of it sticked to my fingers and also some of it to the part of shoes where i did not want it. Now, i cannot use my shoes.

K. Colleen, Portsmouth says

The worst glue i have ever used. Does not bind a rubber sole to a leather boot if you follow the instructions, or if you try waiting longer or shorter than instructed before bonding. I ended up with a ruined pair of boots.

We have used this on two pairs of shoes recently. We found you have to hold the shoe together for awhile to give the glue time to dry, otherwise the shoe just pulls apart. Time will tell how long the shoe glue works.
