Review for /orient faa02004b9 display japanese automatic

Price was 130. A truly exceptional watch! fit, finish, accuracy, durability incredible. I am not the casual watch guy, 20+ years of watch enthusiasm! on a star rating comparison i read compared to a $7800 rolex submariner had only a 7 point variance out of a 100. If it s too good to be true? . It s true! one of the very few watches with an in-house movement ( most swiss watches are owned by one company, and share the same movement eta by swatchgroup). Orient is owned by seiko who btw also has in house movements. Swap out the band(they skimp with band)and you have a beautiful heirloom to hand down-go with the blue!

Introduction

This watch is everything it should be. Worth absolutely every cent, it raises the bar for bang for your buck. Nice weight, feels great on my wrist, the listed size if 41. 5mm, this is as small as i would go unless you prefer smaller vintage sizes. I stand at six feet tall, average built / fit and it looks just perfect on my wrist. Bracelet is well made, buckle is good quality, bezel turns to perfection, comes in a handsome box (wish they included a cleaning cloth). I can't say enough about this piece, i purchased two other watches on online store and returned them because they didn't meet standards, this piece made my day. At this pricepoint, i can't imagine finding a better deal or a better watch. Orient ray ii gets my full support and customer loyalty. . P. S. - it should be mentioned that this piece is the second generation orient ray. Packing many upgrades including a new movement. The Best mens ray ii analog display japanese ( Oct 2019 ) | Orient-Watch Review Items Orient Men's FAA02004B9 Ray II Analog Display Japanese Automatic Silver Watch 41mm case diameter. Orient Men's Faa02004b9 Ray Ii Analog Display Japanese Automatic Silver Watch Review (fa002004b9)

While owned by seiko, orient operates independently and manufactures its own automatic movements. The blue-faced ray 2 is an excellent value that looks, wears and performs as well as - or better than - some swiss watches. It takes a lot of design cues from them, certainly. The bracelet is trying very hard to look like an omega speedmaster - it's close, but not quite as heavy, the links not as nicely rounded, the polished bits a little too wide, the end links hollow. The watch head and bezel have some striking similarities to some of the seamasters, as well (i'm an omega fan). . The ray 2 is its own animal, though, and it looks very nice and understated. The metallic blue face is gorgeous and catches the light very nicely. The red/orange outline on the second hand is also very striking. One thing i wasn't expecting, however, was the quality of the lumes - they glow very brightly after only a little sun exposure, and will glow all night if they get a good charge. . My only complaint is related to the screw-down crown, which is fairly small. If you've got larger fingers like me, it'll sometimes prove difficult to re-mesh the threads to lock the crown back down. This is a very, very minor issue, and partly due to my lack of manual dexterity (and probably my over-40 eyes. Too). . This is a great watch you can dress up or dress down. It's good, as is, but i'd recommend swapping out the stock bracelet with something that does it more justice. You can find several good options here on online store, so do a search. Be prepared, though: the best options'll run you $80-$100. . I bought the ray 2 out of curiosity. The brand gets a lot of praise in the watch blogs, so i wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Turns out, orient makes a really solid product, and this ray 2 is now in my rotation. If i didn't have multiples, the ray 2 would be a great candidate for my only watch. I think it was a good purchase and, unless you turn your nose up at any watch that doesn't command four figures, i think you'll be happy with it, too. . Btw, i put it on the timegrapher, and it came up +8-11 seconds/day in all six positions. Impressive. I don't mind a mechanical that runs a little fast, and the hacking movement of the ray 2 makes it easy to re-sync it with the usn observatory when needed. Buy one, and wear it in good health. -E. Noguera

Orient Faa02004b9 Display Japanese Automatic Watch

PROS
  • I am a big fan of orient and so far this watch upon initial review does not disappoint. Nice heft without being too heavy or big and a great look. As for timekeeping an durability, i will update if i receive any negative issues with the watch. One thing i did not like, was i bought the watch on the april 28 and the seller and/or online store estimated the watch would arrive may 5-12th. I almost cancelled the order due to this. The watch arrived the next day. Not really a problem but in today's world of mail thefts, i like to have better insight so i know what i can be home and i will sometimes make my purchases around that info. But back to the watch, i love that it is a "black" watch but it isn't a deep black and everything is very visible and legible on it. It is great looking!
  • This is an extraordinarily beautiful and well made product and perhaps the best quality, prestige and beauty for the price in the entire watch industry. I understand that's saying a lot but certainly this is a lot of watch for an unreal price! this model orient was terrific even before they made the improvements on these models in 2016. But now, w/ the omission of the independent date button, the addition of a sapphire crystal, a flat finished bezel and improved steel bracelet it is truly remarkable - and a remarkable value for this japanese made watch w/ orient's terrific in-house automatic movement. I wish they would have beefed up the clasp on the bracelet - wish it were a bit hardier, but that minor deficiency is overwhelmed by the overall quality of this exquisitely executed time piece. Its truly a winner. I could not be more pleased.
CONS
  • Advances about a minute every two days. But looks nice.
  • I think it is a nice watch, just seems kind of noisey. I can hear it rattling every time i move my wrist. I thought it was the bracelet at first, but the actual case and movement may be what was rattling. Maybe it is standard for this brand. I sent a mako 2 back for the same reason.
  • I have several other orient watches. They all keep time well; especially the mako usa. This one doesn't. It runs 33 seconds fast per day despite being arriving magnetized and then being demagnetized. I do like the overall look, but don't like having to regulate a brand new watch. Opening the case back to regulate the movement may interfere with the water resistance. I feel the quality control may severely be lacking here. I had the watch regulated professionally and the watchmaker indicated many of the parts were from china and not japan. In fact, on the back of the case, there is a large stamp indicating the movement is made in japan and the rest of the watch is made in china. . With this said, the watch is light and the 120 click bezel does not have any play. The dial lume is outstanding and lasts for several hours in the dark. The dark coating on the watch and the black watch band does not seem to scratch easily. If it weren't for the movement running fast out of the box, i'd rate this four stars.

mens ray ii analog display japanese Orient Men's FAA02004B9 Ray II Analog Display Japanese Automatic Silver Watch (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

Purchased for $172. 32 from online store itself on 3/24/17. The orient ray ii has a good price to quality ratio. I find the bracelet to be perfectly acceptable and comfortable. I resized it for my 7-inch wrist. The blue dial is quite attractive and catches the sunlight nicely. The lume on the hands and markers is bright and long lasting, equal to a seiko's. This watch has turned out to be more accurate than 5 other more expensive automatic+hand-wind watches i own: 2 seikos (6r15c movement) and 3 hamiltons (intra-matic, viewmatic, and pan-europ). The ray ii was more accurate by a few seconds than the next closest, the viewmatic.

(0) Question: What are some of the differences between the ray ii and the mako ii?

(1) Question: How can you adjust the length of the watch? is there a way to do it without removing links?

(2) Question: What is the actual lug width on this watch? thank you

BARTON Jetson NATO Style Watch Strap - 18mm 20mm 22mm 24mm - Black/Green/Red Classic Bond 22mm Nylon Watch Band

Barton's jetson nylon nato style watch straps are custom designed and fabricated from premium seat belt weave waterpoof nylon and 316l surgical grade stainless steel hardware to meet our high standards for fashion, function and fit. The nylon measures 1. 4mm thick, making for the perfect combination of durability and comfot. Buy multiple watch and swap in seconds to compliment your wardrobe. Selecting width: straps are available in 18mm, 20mm, 22mm and 24mm widths. To determine the proper width for your watch, use a metric ruler to measure the 'lug width' (the space between the points on the watch head where the band attaches). Lug widths for most common watches are also available by searching online. Adjusting length: all widths (18mm, 20mm, 22mm & 24mm) measure approximately 270mm (10. 5 inches) in total length and fit wrists from 5" to 8" in circumference. However, watch size and geometry also impacts fit. If band is longer than desired, fold free end neatly back into the keeper loop or cut to desired length. If trimmed, expose cut end to match or lighter flame to avoid fraying. Full money back guarantee for anyone that does encounter a fit issue. Attaching the band: refer to diagram in picture above. First, remove original band and reinsert spring bars into watch head (replacement spring bars sold separately on online store if needed). Then, simply feed strap between the spring bar and watch casing, behind watch head and up through the other spring bar. Run through stainless steel ring on short strap to secure watch head. No need to remove spring bars (pins) to swap between different colors.

The F.A.Q. for Orient Faa02004b9 Display Japanese Automatic (fa002004b9)

I ordered both the ray ii and mako ii so i can see the differences in person. They are basically the same watch with different markers on the bezel and dial, and a different design on the bracelet. This is probably one of best deals in watches. The automatic movement is very accurate and +5/6 sec between the two watches out of the box. The shade of blue is perfect: very dark and nice looking, but has just enough color that people can see it's blue from any angle. I'm so glad they got this right, and isn't the common bright gaudy shade of blue that looks nice on it's own but weird and plastic toy-like when you wear it. The design is classy but also has a rugged tool watch appearance. The wide chunky case, lugs, and rounded inward curve of the end links give it a semi-cushion case appearance. In pics and videos the ray looked better, but the mako is a lot nicer looking in person than i expected and i actually prefer it. The only downside to the mako is that thinner markers means the lume isn't as bright and visible, and there is no lume on the seconds hand. The short lugs are a good design approach and fit well even on smaller wrists, but the lugs and bracelet are wide and chunky. It looks a little too big on my 6. 75 in wrists, mostly what pushed it past how big of a watch i'd like to wear was the wide lugs. I'd buy one again if they made a 38-39mm version. I have smaller wrists but the size should work well for a lot of people. . Some very minor cons are: the texture on the dial looks platicky up close, and the crown is a bit too small in use but is otherwise fine. I guess i'll take a smaller, less comfortable to use crown if it looks better. I think the overall look would be more refined if the lugs were 20mm instead, and i would have probably kept it in that case. The bracelet would also look better and more refined if it tapered more. The bezel looks great and isn't too reflective around the edges, but is hard to get a good grip on and turn. If the case were smaller and at least flush with the bezel it would be easier to use.

I'll get this out of the way first: the orient ray (black) is my daily-wear watch, and i love it. I say it's in the non-pro category only because, for a number of reasons, including water resistance rating of 20atm (200 meters) it is not suitable for deep diving. Now, let me tell you why i love it, giving you the high points and low points. *important: my evaluation is based on my personal preferences in watch styling and mechanics. The only hard & fast rule in watch preferences is that there are no hard & fast rules in watch preferences, so take my points in that context. If you see watches in the same way i do, you may find them helpful. 1. Dive styling: 41. 5" case size turns out to be my sweet spot, and the black bezel with larger marked 10 second increments is clear, easy to read. The face is black, and it's a deep dark black, as is the bezel, contrasting well with the hour markings. The hour & minute hands are modified "sword styling", the second hand a long, slim pointer tipped with a bright red spear. It's a little thing, but the detail finish on all three hands is the quality of a much more expensive timepiece. All three are lumed, and it's a bright, long lasting lume - i can easily read mine in the dark after eight hours of sleep. Ditto on the hour markers and bezel pip. Which brings me to a personal preference - the ray's hour markers are either round or rectangular, with a slightly larger wedge shape at "12" position - no "numbers". I believe this gives a dive watch a much cleaner look, but some folks like to see some numbers - if you do, consider the orient mako, with numerals at 6, 9 & 12. Personal preference. 2. Case: orient makes a heavy-feeling ss case w/screw-down back. It feels solid, and supports the 200m depth rating, and i'm guessing might actually rate considerably higher. Top surfaces are finely brushed, with side surfaces polished, for a subtly expensive look. Crown is screw-down, as a dive watch should be, with grip a little on the hard to grasp side, but still acceptable. Crown is polished, with the orient logo embossed on the end, a classy touch. Action is firm when adjusting hands & day/date. Threads engage firmly, with an appropriately sized thread tube that does not "wobble" when the crown is grasped. The ray has built-in crown guards formed as part of the case - i find this one it's most attractive cosmetic features, and of course it makes perfect sense to protect the crown. Crystal is "mineral". I would have paid more to get the same watch with a sapphire crystal, but understand the cost/benefit calculation. Having said that, i've been wearing orients with mineral crystals for about five years now, with no scratches, and i'm a clumsy oaf with my watches, so it must be a pretty hard surface. 3. Bezel: as mentioned, bezel on this model is a deep, inky black, with minute numerals crisply rendered in a ss tone. The ray's bezel is a 120 click version. Here is one if my two criticisms - the action on this bezel, like the older model ray & mako's i've owned, is really too tight for diving use - there is no possible way it could be turned under water with or without gloves, because the "teeth" around the circumference are too small & smooth considering the tight action. This actually works well if worn as i do, in a "desk diving" mode, where bumps do not dislodge it, but not underwater, if that is a consideration. 4. Movement: the new ray features a hacking house-built orient beating automatic heart, f6922. My previous orients used the older, non-hacking movement, which is one of the key reasons i fell in love with orient automatics. The older movement ran just a bit slow for me, but more importantly was always very consistent, with a very quiet winding pendulum. The new movement seems already to be just as high quality - and my particular f6922 is running consistently about 10-12 seconds fast per day, which i consider perfect for an automatic. No guarantee yours will do the same, but believe me, this movement is the equal of far more expensive engines. The day/date function is crisp & seats perfectly in the viewing windows. Thank god orient has ditched the "day" pusher located at 2 o'clock on the old ray case, with the arrival of the new movement. It was ugly, cheap looking, and another way for the watch to leak (i put up with it because i loved the rest of the watch so much). Another small orient detail - the silver day/date window "frame" is beautifully finished & perfectly seated. The second hand sweep is not as buttery smooth as a 28k or hi-beat movement would be, but perfectly acceptable, and the red tip gives that little extra "instrument panel" look to the overall analog face. While we're talking movements, personal preference 2 - automatic movements are my requirement vs quartz. I've owned lots of both, don't own any quartz's now. There are great quartz divers out there - the seiko tuna monoblock titanium quartz was one of my first "crushes", but i'm strictly an auto guy now. 5. Bracelet/band: i removed the bracelet as soon as i unboxed the watch, and placed the watch on a black 22mm ballistic nylon 2-pc. Strap. This is one of those personal preference deals - i like a light wearing watch/strap combo - and you may prefer a bracelet, no problem. It's an ok bracelet, medium weight class for a ss bracelet, although a ratcheting dive clasp replacing the deployant clasp would be cool. My least favorite features are the non-solid end link covers - they are the usual flimsy covers, and in my opinion have no place on a timepiece purporting to aspire to the name "dive watch". I left the plastic & paper wraps on mine, and will be selling it. If i ever want a bracelet for this watch, i'll go aftermarket, possibly the solid end-link model w/ ratcheting dive extension used on orient's own saturation diver, which also has a 22mm lug width. 6. Overall, i'm in love. My watch collection is down to two - this and a deep blue pro-aqua auto, for those days i feel like wearing a brick on my wrist. If one dive watch is all you want to worry about, and you don't dive for a living, some color version of the orient ray will make you a very happy desk diver.

Best orient faa02004b9 display japanese automatic (fa002004b9) in review

This is my first automatic watch and i must say i have mixed feelings about it. . The thing is that you should consider if automatics are for you, cause they are not for me. . For the uninitiated this is not your typical mall boutique watch. This is not a quartz watch which means there is no battery. It holds mechanical energy in a spring that is wound up by either wearing the watch or by manually winding it using the crown. This also means that the watch will only work for so long as the sprint has tension on it. This is referred as the power reserve. This watch has about 2 days power reserve in my experience. So you should expect to find the clock "dead" after a few days of not wearing it. This is normal every mechanical watch works like this, not matter if is an orient, citizen, omega or rolex. Of course some watches have longer power reserves, but purely mechanical watches usually only hold a few days of power. . Automatic watches such as this are also way less accurate than your $10 chinese quartz watch. Yeah you read that right a $10 chinese no brand quartz watch is way more accurate than a $9, 000 rolex submariner. This is just part of how the technology of the 2 differ. You should not expect a mechanical watch to be sure accurate. Even omega and rolex high end models are only about +/-5 seconds a day. This orient has about +/-40 seconds and is under $200 which is pretty amazing. You should also keep in mind that every watch has a slightly different deviation in accuracy so you model could be +/-8 secs a day while mine is +/-30 secs a day. You might find it almost as good as some watches worth 10 times more. . For me it's a pain to have to rewind the watch every 2 or 3 days. I have several watches and i constantly change between them in the week, but i notice i tend to use my battery quartz watches and my citizen solar way more than this specially when i'm a bit late in the morning and i notice the watch died in the middle of the night and doesn't have the correct time or date. . For those used to large watches i would say that you should first make sure the size is good for you. Coming from slightly bigger watches this feels like it needs 1 or 2 more millimeters in the diameter department for my taste. . :looks of the watch:. . The watch looks amazing, the details on the orient logo, the crown logo, the finishing in the bevel coinage, everything is spot on. I must say the logo on the dial is specially amazing. The details and size and how is applies amaze me every time i look at it. However while the dial looks nice i would say there is nothing special about it, while also nothing wrong, it just doesn't wows anyone. . The band of the watch is not bad by any stretch for this price range but nothing amazing. Everything works well, there is almost zero rotor noise unless you can hear a needle dropping this won't bother you. . It was a screwdown crown, hacking and manual winding. The crown action is very satisfying and every step is clearly defined. The bezel action is magnificent and i really meant it. The bezel has a 120 click action and is rock solid not a chance it moves by accident. Too be honest is a little hard to move but it also means it has zero and i mean zero play in either direction, the bezel action is amazing every click is very satisfactory. However the aluminium insert is a bit underwhelming since it's like a matte color it doesn't pops.

A. Ruff, Idaho says

I love this watch. Unfortunately i had to send replacing request because it came with way too many scratches and the bezzel was asymmetrical with the dial of the watch. Luckily the new one is perfect. I am very satisfied. This watch worth every single dollar. I am not sure how accurate is it cause it gives more than 15 seconds deviation a day which i guess is too much for that kind of watch. Overall i am satisfied. . Update 11. 14. 2017: i am very surprised how a little thing can make a enormous difference. So i was having a struggle with the accuracy of the watch. It was giving me about 10-15 seconds deviation a day. Then i started looking for watchmaker to adjust it. Whatever, i accidentally opened a page which was telling about the positions you leave your watch when you don't wear it (you know crown up, 12 up, 6 up, dial up, etc. ). I've seen that before too but i thought it wouldn't make so much difference. Actually, i was so wrong. I tried it and it turned out that and it was working like a charm. I was so surprised when i saw that. It turned out that "12 up" for a resting position is the best one for it. I was using a software named "watchcheck" so i can check it easier. I loved it before and now i love it even more! awesome watch!

I cannot believe the quality of this timepiece for the price. I got the blue dial (d9) and it is just something else, especially in sunlight. Feels like a much much higher priced watch. It has that quality which you can only feel once you hold it in the hand. Rock solid. And on top of that it has the new f69 in-house movement with hand-winding and hacking. In my opinion it blows my seiko skx out of the water. My grail watch was a high end swiss diver (not rolex), but after i got this, i don't feel like i will get much satisfaction per dollar amount spent. (i am not saying they have the same quality. That'd be naive. ) but, it has all the features i wanted in a dive watch of my desire (substantial lume, solid unidirectional bezel, applied markers, screw down caseback and crown) all with a japanese quality to write home about. It does not have the iso certified diver's depth rating. But i am not a diver and 200m water resistance is more than enough for day to day use for most of us. So, yes, it's that good. And trust me, being a watch and horology enthusiast i know my watches in depth. (get that? ! ; -)

T. Lara, District of Columbia says

I purchased this watch as a gift to a friend. This is a true enthusiast's watch and you just can't beat an in-house movement at a sub $200 price point. The only downside is that it doesn't have solid end links but again, at this price you can't really complain about that. The package as a whole; box/packaging, presentation, in-house movement, hacking, day/date, 200m wr etc. Greatly exceeds the price. Again, this was a gift but i did take it out for inspection. Will definitely purchase another one of these for myself.

The "blue" ray 2 orient sport and dress diver's watch is an exceptional value for its overall look, function, and build in a watch that emulates the design and quality of my rolex submariner without the fear of an investment loss if stolen or destroyed while traveling and doing everyday tasks. My rolex has become my "dress watch" due to its much higher repair and replacement cost. I first bought the black dial ray 2 for everyday wear because it also had a day date function which is far more useful for travel and as a monday to friday watch. I work around water and boats as a uscg auxiliary public affairs officer doing photography and other tasks where i need a durable water resistant divers watch and bracelet. The oreint ray 2 fits the criteria perfectly. I wear only silver and stainless jewelry name bracelet and rings with black onyx, hence the first choice of the black dial. I also liked deep blue lapis for my alternative watch hand ring and was looking for a beautiful lapis blue divers watch dial and bezel without paying the price of the rolex or omega sea-master and had no further to look than the blue dial ray 2. So for one tenth the price of and omega and or $10k less than a submariner i have 2 durable orient ray 2 automatics on a dual winder always ready to wear. . Are there things i could improve on both watches that i would pay a little bit more for? yes there are. . 1. ) one is to have a reflection free sapphire crystal instead of mineral crystal, 2. ) a crown that was slightly larger to manipulate when using to change settings, manual winding, and screwing in and out, 3. ) polished and relief logo watch back which is easier to clean, 4. ) the black dial ray 2 could use a little texture to contrast the bezel, 5. ) the blue ray has the same needs except the watch dial is nicer with its irredescent blue finish and contrasting satin finish darker blue bezel. The blue disl ray 2 would be nice to be sold with a blue leather aligator dress band and stainless bracelet, 6. ) i generally like the bracket supplied but prefer the simpler rolex submariner bracelets without the polished detail (minor preference) but for comfort would like the 22mm stainless steel band to tapor off the case to a 20mm for wrist comfort and design. . Overall the watches are almost perfect especially when factoring in the purchase prices that are just under $200 per watch. Still $150-$1, 200 less than several tissot automatic diver watches and the hamilton kahki day day watches. The fact that the company is associated with seiko did rank as positive for purchasing. I have a seiko solar divers watch i really like but the date is very unreadable - too small. The orient had excellent readability and lumen for day and night visibility. Last wish is that the logo mark 2 lions with a shield were 10% larger for design legibility and that the lumen on the bezel was also 50% larger and three dimensional. I was looking for a similar roman numeral orient dress watch with a day and date function like their divers but they only make one without the day and date function. So the two ray 2 divers watches are elegantly detailed with the blue dial having that extra blue color available to make a nice dress sport version with either the stock stainless braclet or changing out with a blue leather for a dress sport look. Either way, the orient ray 2 watches black or blue dials are winners in build and time accuracy as well as the design look - for a sold positive recommendation of 4 stars and would rate a solid 5 stars with sapphire crystals and easier to manipulate crowns.

Gains 10 seconds a day. Have read this will lessen with age. Lume lasts all night! i can easily see the time many hours (even right before getting up) after lights out in a dark room. I regularly fall asleep with it on my arm and can check the time at any time of the night. Original band works well and stays secure. Watched a youtube video by a watch school comparing it's serviceability to other watches. Much fewer parts than the comparison watch and they said it is much easier to service. Fewer parts mean fewer possibilities of failure or problems. The only thing i would like different is for the mineral glass to be sapphire. That can be changed, but it would prefer it from the factory with sapphire. I would happily pay the extra to get it if the orient folks are reading this. From my research and personal experience, it is the best mechanical watch you can buy for the money.

I already own a seiko skx and a sea urchin (fnzf17). I bought this for for two reasons. First, i like the aesthetics. I think it is a better looking watch than my two seiko's. And second, i bought it for the movement. Hacking, winding, and screw down crown. . Overall this thing deserves 5 stars. At this price point it can't be beat. I will keep my skx and this ray in my rotation, and ditch the sea urchin (not that there is anything wrong with it). . But i do want to give my 5 pros and 5 cons. . Pros:. 1) price. Worth every penny. 2) aesthetics/finishes. One of the best looking entry level dive watches available. 3) bezel. I have seen some reviews complaining of the bezel action on the ray. I disagree with those. This is so much better than the sea urchin. It is solid and has very satisfying clicks. 4) lume. Extremely bright. I also like the lume on the tip of the second hand. 5) accuracy. Gaining only a few seconds a day. . Cons:. 1) crown. My biggest complaint. It is so hard to screw in and out. Almost ruins the whole experience for me. The skx is so dang easy to operate compared to the ray. 2) date setting. The day/numbers get out of alignment way too easy. They don't snap into position quite like the seiko's do. 3) bracelet. Hard to complain about a bracelet on a sub $200 watch. Especially when most people change them out anyways. But i love the jubilee bracelet on the skx. I also prefer the bracelet on the sea urchin over the ray as well. Not a deal breaker. 4) quality control. I have seen various issues from others regarding this. First thing i did when i opened the package was take off the bracelet. One of my spring bars was bent pretty bad. I'm glad i saw it and replaced it. 5) lug width. I would prefer a 20mm width. On both the bracelet and nato the band can overpower the 41. 5mm case. Again, not a deal breaker. . As you can see i'm a huge fan. If you are considering this watch, do it. You won't regret it. However, if i had to choose between this and the skx, i might lean toward the seiko. Either way you can't go wrong.

Nice watch. Among the lower priced producers of dive style watches, this is a particularly well-executed piece. It does not have a large case. Nor does it "wear large". That is not a negative comment, only an observation. Conversely, it is not feminine in its sizing. The dial detail is impeccable. The bezel is pretty nice given the pricing. The bracelet is better than it really needs to be for the price point. My other orient watches, all with differing movements, test very well in terms of accuracy, amplitude in all positions and beat error. In fact, i own one model of orient that matches several fairly expensive luxury watches i own in terms of accuracy. Amazing quality overall.

L. Josephine, Saskatchewan

For me - it's perfect. The size is just right for my taste and wrist size, the face is gorgeous, and it keeps very accurate time. This is my first mechanical watch, and i'm loving the smooth 6-tick-per-second sweep of the seconds hand. Some people take points off for the hollow end links, but i actually think the bracelet is very nice other than the fact the two little end pieces are not solid, and you can't even tell they're hollow while you're wearing it anyway. Plus, because of the price you pay, and the quality of the movement and everything else, it remains a 5 star in my book. Only other thing to note is the rotating bezel - it is very hard to turn. I personally don't care, because i don't think i'll be using it much to time things, but if i was planning on using this feature more regularly, i would really hope it loosens up with additional use. But back to the positive - i've been wearing it every day for over a week now, and i still just keep looking at it because it's so darn good looking. :) i currently have it paired up with a blue and red nato strap, and it brings out the color of the watch even more. Love it.

N. Allen, Midi-Pyrenees says

So far, i love the watch. It has a beautiful dial and lots of features you simply don't expect for this price. The seiko skx is also a good bet but less accurate (generally speaking as it varies), no hacking/hand winding, and more expensive. The dial is a beautiful deep blue. Time keeping has been acceptable and the watch looks great. There are some downsides that are due to the low price point (mineral crystal, no solid end links) but what do you expect at this price point. My only real complaints thus far are the crown is hard to grip and the bezel is accurate and lines up well but very hard to turn. Get it you know you want one . Ahahaha. . Pros:. Great in-house movement that you can hand wind and hacks. Beautiful dial with applied logo and markers. 200m water resistant. Screw down crown. Price. 120 click bezel. . Cons:. Tight bezel. Hard to grip crown. Mineral glass. Hollow end links. Time keeping thus far is no where near what some are getting (+15) but hopefully it will get better when it breaks in.

O. Connie, Bexley

4. 75 stars on this watch, would be 5 plus if the crown and the bezel were a bit easier to manipulate. Time keeping is spot on, perhaps a few seconds off over a 24 hour period, if that. In-house movement. The fit and finish is impeccable on this watch with chapter ring, indices and bezel being in perfect alignment. Seiko, the parent company of orient might want to study/kaizen orient's manufacturing process as i have seiko diving watches costing a fair bit more than this orient that are not as impeccably finished as this watch. While the factory band is not too bad and pretty comfortable i replaced it with a strapcode/miltat super oyster which is the bracelet pictured in my pics. Lots of bang for the buck here. This is one of those watches that looks so much better in person than in pictures. I really like this one, it's a keeper and i hope you find this review helpful.

. Colleen, Arkansas says

I like this watch. Size is good, not too big for small wrist. I have 6 5 wrist. This is 4 stars for 2 reasons. . * mineral crystal very easy to get scratches. Wearing my watch under 2 weeks and already got 2 big scratches. . * this movement or at least mine is not as accurate as seiko 7s26 or 4r35 (i own both). . I would recommend this over skx(bought and returned). People praise it probably because it can be modded easily. . I see myself getting the mako usa 2 when the prices go down. Sapphire crystal is a much needed upgrade. The movement i can tolerate with, not a big deal.

Q. Monique, Sandwell says

I love my ray ii. True, it does need to be adjusted roughly once every week or so (goes a bit too fast), . And it does indeed not include a sapphire. But other than that. It's a beautifully-built, sleek, all around wonderful diver watch. Great value for the price, and you can always throw in a sapphire for $40. I'm not a big fan of the metal wristband (noisy, and gets really cold in iowa winter), so i changed mine to espresso-brown leather. And really pleased with it (see in the pics). The glow in the dark function is awesome too, beautiful and bright, and i love not having actual numbers but those. Nice circles instead. Just buy it! it's truly great.

G. Cageen, Derbyshire

I had previously owned a seiko skx007 and this watch has been compared to it due to its similar price point. I believe this watch is a better value than the skx as it is cheaper, with a movement that has more features. I was surprised that this watch had both manual wind and the seconds hand was able to be stopped during setting of the watch in order for more precise time keeping, both features that the seiko skx lacked. I loved the blue color of the dial. It is a more subdued blue which makes it more versatile. It looks great on nato straps, and its size is perfect for my 7 1/4 inch wrist. Now what i did not like about the watch that holds it back from me giving it a full 5/5 mainly the dive bezel. Trying to turn the dive bezel is one of the most difficult things. It actually hurts my fingers. Although i do not intend to use it to do any actual diving, it makes it inconvenient to use to time simple things. In addition, the bezel seems slightly misaligned.

Y. Rowe, South Carolina says

This is a very good "dress diver". It isn't a tool-tastic as an skx, but is dressier, and has great finish on the case, dial, and bezel. The sunburst effect on the glossy face of it looks amazing, and the matte bezel is a nice contrast. This watch wears a bit smaller than most 42mm, but i think the wider band and short lug-to-lug contribute. Not many watches automatics in this price range have manual wind and hacking, and their movements are in-house. I have only two complaints 1) the bracelet isn't very good, but i had planned on using a nato strap anyway. 2) the bezel is very stiff. I think the bezel wouldn't bother me so much, but i also own a citizen promaster diver ( bn0151-09l ), a seiko ssc017, and a casio mdv106-1a, and all three have smoother operating bezels, and the casio was a $50 watch.

I. Cortney, Poitou-Charentes

I've owned this watch for 5 hours and love it so far. The first diver i bought was the skx and this watch looks and feels better built and offers some features that the 007 doesn't including a hand wind option and a hacking seconds hand. The bezel is solid yet easily maneuvered. The crown, while smaller than most other watches i own, is easily unscrewed and easy to use and the blue color is wonderful. While i'll always have a special place for my skx being the iconic diver that it is, the blue ray ii is already among my favorites with my orange monster. Great buy

Clean looking automatic dive-style. I snagged one when the price dipped ($148. Xx). What a bargain! . . I really like the overall appearance - it looks & feels more expensive. A nice balance of good clean looks, design & features. The even finished deep blue dial is well done and in lighting casts a deep rich metallic blue sunburst in. An appealing way. Just a nice deep shade of blue. Under subdue lighting it looks black. I like it. . *quality/fit/finish - overall nicely done. Dive-style with a touch of class. *hacking & winding - desirable features. *lume - nice and bright charged, then i can see time through the night. Bold hour/minute hands, well done applied markers. *screw down crown - bit small and tight (new) i can manage without frustration. Nice logo touch on crown cap. Screw down threads are smooth. *bezel - firm with no slop. I have no problem turning it. Positive tactile 120-clicks. Aligns 12. *second hand - (6bps) has a red tip and a touch of lume - just nicely done. Almost a smooth sweep - no loud tick tick tick. *day/date - i can do without but its a nicely done. Framed and good contrast. *case - although i prefer all brushed, the combination of polished and brush is nicely done/finished. *screw down case back - ss back. No plate with screws or press fit. And no need to open just to change a battery because there isn't one. And good i don't see the beating guts because then i would have to wear it backwards and not know what time it is. . I find its easy to read at a glance (aging eyeballs). After checking i got a working movement and all the crown applied functions work, i put on a 22mm blushark strap (black/gray). Plenty of room. To slip in the strap. It just feels fine on my smaller wrist worn just snug (i wear watches on the inside of my wrist). I prefer a 22mm size strap. Not overly large to give me crown/crown guard pinch. I prefer a 40-44mm size watch for daily wear. I would gladly pay the extra for an orient fit sapphire over mineral but it is what it is. . Received via online store purchase in 2 days. No package or item damage. Watch came in watch box, band over pillow, orient tag, instructions & warranty info. . Full week of use i find my example gains only a couple seconds a day. I sure can't complain about that for an automatic out of the box. . I felt it was ready for another daily watch. My seiko chrono has served me well but i was ready for new & different, opt a dive-style. I really like it. Wears & looks good, my size, lume, lets me know its no plastic cheap piece and doesn't tick loudly. The orient ray ii seem to fit a lot of what i was looking for, a solid bargain of desired features. . Diving into smoked baby backs, hot wings, ice cream etc. It'll take it and beyond. . Add (3/9/18) - this watch has been holding at gaining 2 seconds per 24 hours which for me is impressive for an automatic. Just wearing it daily has kept it running. I've had an automatic some years back and it would whack out on time so i was a bit hesitant for another, but reviews and the design of this watch got me to giving another a try - very satisfied with this purchase (i would have paid more - had i known what this was really like). Got some nice compliments on the watch, some who are into any diver style watches. Still a solid bargain diver style watch.

I normally wear a omega seamaster and was looking for a less expensive mechanical watch to wear when i travel. After much searching i came across the orient ray 2. I've only had it a week but so far i'm very happy with it. I have a trip overseas next week and i plan on wearing it and leaving the omega at home. . Pros: attractive, well made and easy to read in the dark. It's actually a bit easier to read in the dark compared to omega. Water resistant to 200 meters. Day and date, self winding and a hacking movement to make it easier to set, you can also hand wind it. . Cons: no sapphire crystal but what can you expect for a sub $200 price point. The crystal tends to show fingerprints and it doesn't look like there is any kind of anti-reflective coating. It looks a little hazy if you don't keep it clean. The bezel is very hard to move, maybe it will lossen up a little with use. . Some people have commented that they do not like the watch band that comes with it. So far i'm ok with it, it's comfortable on my wrist and looks nice. . I'll try and update this review later this year to let everyone know how the watch is holding up.

F. Pete, Croydon says

This is probably the best value in a high quality, japanese made automatic watch available today. The new and improved ray ii offers improvements over previous movement designs including one that i deem essential. The ability to "hack" or stop the second hand when the stem is pulled out to the time setting position. . Two links removed and the band fit my wrist perfectly. This watch has everything it should have. A high visibility, high contrast face, date and day display and sweep second hand. It gets down to business without being distracting. Easily a watch you can classify as "sporty-stylish" and one that would fit in during a poolside party or at a board meeting where formal dress is the norm. . The ray ii is an automatic wind watch in which normal arm activity through the day keeps the mainspring wound and powers the movement. There is no need for batteries and the screw down crown ensures the time setting will be secure and not inadvertently pop out and stop the watch if hooked on clothing as i've had happen with other watches which lack that feature. A screw down crown for me is mandatory, regardless of the depth rating of the watch, which in the case of the ray ii happens to be a comfortable 200 meters. . I'm a huge fan of durable, metal bracelet mechanical watches and the orient ray ii delivers exactly what i'm looking for at a price that is astoundingly affordable. *. Update 6/24/2017. . This watch is the most accurate automatic watch i've ever owned. It has not lost or gained a single second over the past 36 hours! contrast that with a swiss made tissot automatic i have that out of the box lost 15 seconds every 24 hours. And the tissot cost more than 3x what this orient ray ii cost!

Good starter automatic diver's watch. Having owned a plethora of quartz watches - including a few eco drives, thought i'd give orient a shot and quite pleased with its design and quality, so far. I didn't want to go seiko cos seiko diver watches seem more toolish than the classier and stylish orients - besides everyone wears a seiko. It does gain time compared to my 11 yr old eco drive but i guess this may be an automatic watch thing and not so much this specific watch's caveat. But as some of the other reviewers state, this is probably within the acceptable range for automatic watches. The sun burst blue has a nice touch - not many watches have this color, and time markings on the watch face illuminate quite well under low light - much better than my citizens or my tag. The watch is also heavy enough to make you realize that you are wearing a stainless steel one. The band has a shiny tone in the middle as the illustration shows which adds a distinct look. I have a small wrist and its 40mm face seems just fine. In comparison, my 42mm tag feels larger now. Not noisy or flimsy in my opinion. Recommend a buy, if you are looking for $200 watch that can be a daily driver, to save your more expensive watches for special occasions. And this watch can figure in those occasions too.

Orient makes a great watch. So much bang for the buck. If you are thinking about this orient or the mako 2 over say a seiko skx, do it. Main reason is the upgrade automatic movement with hacking and wind. The seiko does not have hacking (the 2nd hand does not stop when you pull out the crown and you cannot manually wind the watch to power it, you must wear it or shake it side to side). On this orient or the mako 2 (not true on the regular ray or mako) you can manually wind the watch. I love the hacking as i like to keep my watches precise to the atomic clock. Hacking allows you to easily do this. All manual watches will be + or - per day and this amt varies by the watch itself, not just the brand or model. The band is comfortable and its not a "hair grabber. " i am fussy about bands and the orient bracelet is very comfy and well made. The face of the watch (blue model) is gorgeous. Photos do not do it justice. I also wanted a "pepsi" colored bezel (in addition to this blue ray 2) and almost pulled the trigger on the seiko skx. I kept thinking about the non-hacking movement and the fact that i cannot also manually wind the watch and therefore opted for a 2nd orient instead. The movement is the game changer for me with the orient over the seiko. Sure, for my collection, i'd love to own the seiko, but the non-hacking movement will drive me nuts. For other people, it may not be that big of a deal. Difference between the ray 2 and mako 2 - the hands are different, the face is different ( s on the 12, 6, and 9) on the mako 2 and indices on the ray 2. The 2nd hand is a little different between the two, compare them. Other than these, the font on the two is different on the bezel also. Larger font on the ray 2. Not a big deal for me. I do not see anything else. Same movement, band, etc. Which one do you like? it is subjective. I suggest getting them both. Lol. If i had to do it all over agan and could only own one orient i'd get the pepsi macko 2 because of the pepsi multi-colored bezel (have not seen a pepsi ray 2, though there may be one, not sure). Orient also makes models with the black face. I like the blue better. You have to see it in person. Amazing. You will not be disappointed. Hope this review helps!

Great dive watch. I just fell in love with the watch. I do have two issues with the watch though. . First is the bezel. It's functions just fine when it is dry, but if it becomes wet it becomes a real pain trying to turn the thing. I tend to cook and do dishes at the same time, and i use the bezel as the timer for cooking. So wet hand bezel issue has been a common problem for me. Also if you get the watch wet and dry the watch, the bezel will hold water for some time. This means that if you try to use the bezel the water will come out and make it very difficult to use the bezel. . Second is more of personal preference, but i use this as my main watch and i really wanted a sapphire crystal to handle the task. That and i really wanted that beautiful blue ar finish that some watches have. I have purchased a third party sapphire crystal and sent the watch and the crystal to a watch shop to have it modded, but it would have been nice to have a sapphire version. . I'm kind of nit picking with the issues though, and i really don't see major faults with the watch. As a reference i have noted that my watch gains about 6 seconds everyday, which i'm told is great for an automatic watch.

J. Mathis, Devon says

I really can't imagine getting more for the money. Also having bought a seiko skx009 for roughly the same cost, the ray 2, although lacking in some of that skx charm, is simply nicer in every regard. The features and quality are probably very unlikely to be matched without spending much, much more. . Here are my nitpicks with matching rebuttals:. . 1) the bezel is a little tight and can be difficult to turn, but it has slightly loosened up after the first several uses. Maybe it will break in nicely over time. Still, i think i prefer the tightness to the back play i find the bezel of the skx to have. . 2) screwing down the crown can be tricky. I don't know if it's because the treading isn't great, but i have learned, based on the orientation of the logo on the crown, where the threading should engage. That has helped tremendously. . 3) the bracelet has hollow end links. I knew this going in. I assumed i'd be tossing the bracelet into the box from whence it came and keeping the case on a rotating selection of nato straps. But the end links fit so nicely, there's no tinny rattling. So i've been wearing and enjoying the bracelet, which turned out to be really, really nice. . 4) the crystal isn't sapphire. Time will tell if this is an issue. So far, so good, but it's worth noting for those who may have overlooked that.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

U. Melissa, Virginia says

First of all the crown was very wobbly when you unscrew it. I understand the watch was only 180, but even at that price i think the quality is not there. Also the bezel was impossible to turn. That sealed it for me. I understand some love this watch, but i will pass.

M. Nancy, New York

Nice looking watch. Contrary to what reviewers say, the bracelet seems fine to me and is not noisy. However, it does run like 20 seconds fast per day which is why i gave it 3 stars.

. Parker, Cornwall says

Good product for the price. It runs fast though so i have to adjust it weekly.

L. Lisa, Westminster

First of all, the ray ii can be hand-winded with low price. Other watches with similar functions have higher prices. Which is a pro. Here are some cons, (1) the steel bracelet is easy to break; (2) the glass surface is very easy to get scratches; (3) the bezel is hard to rotate; (4) the watch is not that accurate, fast 20sec after i received it; then slow about 25-40sec now. It is an ok watch. If you are picky, don't buy it.

. Judith, Warwickshire says

I purchased this timepiece as a gift. I am glad that i opened it before gifting. The quality was not what i expected and would of been embarrassed to have given this as a gift. The watch band was light weight and very tinny sounding. At this price point there are . Any better choices. I ended up giving my seiko srp315 as the gift. I paid less than $175 for the seiko. At the same price point i feel the seiko is a better made timepiece. I wanted to like the orient but it could not happen.

Z. Sherry, Sefton

I've heard other reviewers calling orient to comment on their chinese cases but the company won't answer

P. Heidi, Nevada says

Great watch but i will have to return it because the crown will not move or pull.

Y. Donna, Quebec

Saw lots of great reviews online but was disappointed when actually holding it in the hand. Doesn t feel as good quality as a comparably priced seiko. Bezel looks cheap and is almost impossible to use. Almost need a pair of channellocks to turn it - really rediculous. Printing and alignment on date/days wheels is poor and mismatched. Bought an inexpensive seiko 5 (fifty five fathoms) and though the movement is less advanced, it feels like a high quality watch. The orient falls short imo.

Q. Patricia, Nordrhein-Westfalen says

- runs slow everyday. . - noisy metalic rattling sound just from moving it around

I. Alma, Walsall

Love my new orient ray ii. I also own the ray and the mako with the day pusher. Guess i am a sucker for the latest models produced! . I think the manufacturers know that people like watch "collectors" (myself included) will see the new model and have to have that one too! . I do like the ray without the day pusher a little better than the previous model. It has a more simple "classic" look to it. Other than the hacking and hand winding however, it's just like the old ray. Still an excellent watch for the money, so if you like the look, go for it fellow watch nerds! . Unexpected problem:. I still like the watch, but after having worn the it for a few weeks i found one problem that has only come up in a few of the reviews of the ray 1 and ray 2 as well as the mako 1&2. Without the solid end links of the more expensive dive watches or the extra heavy pins where the watch attaches to the band (skx 007/009), these 1. 5mm pins will bend and release the watch from the band. This will probably not be a problem for most wearers of the watch ( if you work in an office all day), but if you use the watch during moderately physical activities you have a good chance of having this happen to you. This is not a big deal ( easily fixed when it happens), but for a watch marketed as a sport model it seems that an otherwise sturdy design could have been greatly improved ( with little additional manufacturing cost) by simply using heavier spring pins!

X. Anonymous, Kansas says

It was nice looking but there were things i didn't like. The bezel didn't line up accurately. The lume marker on the bezel at 12 o'clock had a black mark on it that was basically scratched on there. I didn't keep it long enough to see how well it kept time.

F. Maria, Hackney

Junk, does not keep time. don't buy.

J. April, West Virginia says

The internal dial moved while pushing the date & time to its original position. Was very disappointed, expected more from orient. Overall the watch looks great. Will order another replacement & see.

. Broyles, Georgia

I really wanted to like this watch, but the accuracy of the one i got was lacking. The auto movement looses somewhere arounf 90 seconds a day and requires hacking on a daily basis. If i had it to do over again, i'd get an eco-drive citizen pro-diver for pretty close to the same price.

W. Wayt, Blackpool says

I received this watch and immediately sent it back. Although there are lots of great reviews on this watch, i immediately thought it was ugly and cheap looking. Like something you would find on the side of the road next to some elvis or bruce lee paintings. One youtube reviewer compared it favorably to a rolex submariner, which is absolutely ridiculous. I'll give it two stars because it's an affordable automatic watch but it really is atrocious looking for the price. From the dial design to the orient logo, i didn't really like anything about it. . But i'm in the minority. A lot of people really like this watch. I'm just one person but dang is it ever ugly.

K. Garner, East Sussex

The watch is great. Looks amazing but it gets a 3 star because the crown is terrible. It is extremely hard to pull it out for adjusting time or date. I first thought it was a defective piece but turns out it is a common issue with this model so i ended up returning it.

T. Taylor, Niedersachsen says

Pros. . - good looking watch, the watch itself is nice homage to submariner. - what works seems to work well- movement, lume, bezel (it is stiff, but doesn't bother me), all great. . Cons. . - the band is legitimately not good. The hollow end links are noisy and take away from what could be a really fine looking watch. The links themselves feel cheap. The steel feels cheap (i do not know what grade of steel the band is, but i suspect it is a cut below). The band is so cheap that i was actually very disappointed, and considered sending the whole watch back for something else. I did, however, find a solution. See below. . - the crown is a problem i would like orient to try and solve for their next ray. Because it wobbles when unscrewed for date adjustment, the threading is really hard to line back up when it is time to screw in. In my profession, i deal with misaligned threading all the time and there is only one conclusion: in will inevitably result in damage. The threading is very small you must be very careful not to force it because that will bend the threading, then all the sudden your water-resistant dive watch becomes a paperweight. . - the day/date feature does not lock in particularly precisely. You will have to fidget with it, maybe for a long time, to get it aligned properly. . About that bracelet. . I knew when i bought it that other reviewers had warned about the band. I was eyeballing several solutions to maintain the 'classic' submariner aesthetic. Most of them are proportionally pretty expensive, and the combined cost is almost as much as you would pay on a good sale day for something much better. So i had hoped i could live with the band that came with it. Alas. It really is rubbish. It is heavy, the end links are hollow and noisy and most importantly it made me feel like i'm not worth a nice watch. Nobody should feel like that, especially with a weekender out there for everybody. I have a pretty fun rotation with a weekender, a couple of bulovas, an apple watch, etc, and i knew that i would never wear it as is. . After staring at it for a while, i was ready to send it back, but as a last-ditch effort to be happy, i threw a nato strap on there. You would be amazed at how much better it looks and feels. Perfect, cheap, easy solution. The catch here is of course that it sort of undermines the 'classic' submariner look, the reason anybody would be buying this watch in the first place. I've never really seen a submariner on any other strap than its super oyster link. It's also not a particularly dressy solution. . So. There you go. Ray ii. Plan on throwing it on a nato or zulu, or throwing down for a better link bracelet.

Of the two watches i've received, they both lose time and the springbars always manage to bend

N. Hurst, East Riding of Yorkshire says

I like the watch quite a bit, however my '19' in the date window does not line up properly

. Susana, Haute-Normandie

Aesthetically this is a nice watch. It is also comfortable and has a quality appearance. However, the crown and winding mechanism are poorly made. It takes too much effort to manuallywind the watch. And even more effort to screw the crown in. I would never go diving with this watch since i believe the crown is so poorly designed water would get into the movement. Buy a seiko skx007, it is much higher quality than the orient.

E. Ross, Southend-on-Sea says

As a dive watch, you would think this watch would be durable. Well, think again. My 3 year old son dropped this watch from his hands to the floor (how high is that? one foot? ). As a result, the second hand disconnected from the other hands and hangs loose. If you're looking for a durable watch, look elsewhere.

S. Pete, Milton Keynes

Thought i made the right decision after months of studying watches. Boy was i wrong. It's +1 whole entire minute every. Single. Day. Seiko quartz watches are hands down the best inexpensive watches out there. Perfect time to a t on my sna411 flightmaster even a year later.

V. Cortney, Alsace says

The watch was very beautiful. Unfortunately, the product came with a cross-threaded crown which is obviously totally unacceptable for a diving watch. Due to this, the crown was sticking out and not flush with the case at closed position! in addition to being cross threaded, the crown is a huge pain to unscrew and screw in, requiring ridiculous amount of force.

I've been wearing this watch for 5 months now. It is consistently +28 sec/ day. Should be better. I'm sending it back for re calibration. That may take up to 6 weeks. Worse, there are many many small scratches on the glass. And, i haven't even begun to wear it outside much. I will have to send it to a third party for a sapphire glass replacement. Why am i spending so much time renovating this new watch? it's a beautiful watch. Fwiw, i wear my watches 24/7. . Ps. Well they've had the watch for 8 weeks, and still haven't send it back. No response to emails. Nice.

H. Kimberly, Yukon Territory says

Watch worked good for a couple of months. Then it started to lose time. It would stop after a few hours. Now, i wind it every morning and evening. I will have to send it back for warranty repair. Not too pleased. I should have bought one with a battery.

C. Joanne, Mississippi

It's a really cheap watch they spent on the steel but it has no great movement. Buy a seiko 5 even if it's cheaper but it will atleast keep the time correctly. This watch runs 6 minutes fast when set in 3 days. What kind of a watch is this. I took it to a service centre and even they could not do anything on the same

A. Crawford, North Carolina says

This is one of the best looking submariner style watches you can find on online store without question. . That being said, this is one of the poorest pieces of time keeping equipment i've ever used. The clock needs to be reset daily, otherwise it will run slow or fast by +-5 minutes. It's a total joke that something in this price range cant get a single thing outside of looks correct. That being said, their customer service is surprisingly excellent in dealing with my issues in a timely manner. A little bit of that human element goes a long way when dealing with faulty products but it doesn't go far enough to excuse a mediocre watch.

O. Reed, Nebraska

The watch is beautiful, solid, well made and fits very well. For the initial 3 weeks of ownership, i was surprised to see a brand new watch being about 2-3 minutes fast per week. On the 20th day, it advanced 10 minutes in a single day. The next day, it was 8 minutes advance in an 8 hour period. It would almost go fast 1 minute per hour. Totally unacceptable for a watch. Returned for full refund today. Too bad. It is gorgeous.
