First Aid 298 Piece All-purpose First Aid Kit, Soft Case (First Aid Only) 1984

Review for /first aid only piece all purpose

Price was 11. Ok so i needed a cheap kit to build on for long term travel (primarily on foot but also possibly bicycle and train, sometimes in the city, sometimes in wilderness) and this one had the lowest price/highest rating/greatest number of items. . The case itself is a soft but sturdy zip up, somewhat translucent so you can see whatever is in the back pockets. I expect it is water resistant, if left in moderate rain the contents probably wouldn't get soaked, but if it fell out of your boat water would be able to get in around the fabic of the zipper. It is bigger than a dvd case but smaller than a composition book, but thicker than both put together. . It claims 299 pieces so here are the contents, or at least what i got in mine:. . - 50 tiny bandaids, like doll sized. Maybe 1/4 an inch wide and less than 1 1/2 inches long. Good for toddler sized wounds, minor pinpricks, paper cuts you can't actually see but can feel, and pinky fingers. However they could possibly act as butterfly stitches (which are included in the kit but you only get a few) if needed, with the gauze patch of the bandage going directly over the cut and the adhesive parts holding the skin together. - 4 fingertip bandaids. - 1 single use pack of burn gel. - 3 2-packs (6 tablets in all) of 200mg ibuprofen. - 3 2-packs of non-aspirin 500mg. - 3 2-packs of aspirin 325mg. - 1 square bandaid. Yeah, just one. *shrug*. - 3 small gauze pads. - 2 large gauze pads. - 1 large rectangle bandaid. Again, just one. - 1 sterile eye pad. - 3 butterfly stitches. - 4 knuckle bandaids. - 1 trauma pad. - 1 xl gauze pad. - 135 regular sized bandaids. There were technically 2 sizes, but they did not differ by more than 1/4 of an inch, and they would both be adequate for a minor scrape or cut. Some were labeled fabric, others i'm assuming are either latex or plastic, but the packaging did not specifically say. 135 seems like overkill, especially when they skimped on other sizes and shapes, but if this was to be a home or office kit ordinary bandaids are probably what people would need the most. - 2 sting relief pads. - 14 alcohol cleansing pads. - 6 single use packs of neomycin cream. - 2 single use packs of first aid cream. - 1 mylar blanket. - 1 pair of nitrile gloves, size large. - 1 gauze roll. - 3 pre-cut moleskin pads, each about 1 square inch. - a small pair of trauma shears, obviously cheap but sturdy enough for an emergency. - several (i'm sorry i didn't count but i'm pretty sure it was less than ten) cotton tipped swabs, presumably for application of ointment. I really don't know why else you would need them. - plastic tweezers which would work in a pinch, but are probably worth about 3 pennies in all. - 1 single use thermometer. - 15 bzk towelettes. I don't really know why they went with these instead of more alcohol pads, as benzalkonium chloride can be irritating if it gets inside the body, but as long as you don't jam these up your nose you should be fine. - 2 popsicle sticks. Whoever put the kit together probably referred to them as tongue depressors or budget toe splints (which i guess they could be if you cut them up), but yeah, they're extra large popsicle sticks. - 2 small, as in 1/4 inch wide, rolls of medical tape. - 1 instant cold pack. - 1 emergency guide made of magazine type paper. . Overall the contents seem to be well-made, and most minor incidents that you would encounter at home are covered to a degree. This kit will definitely need some supplements, but it is a nice start. . There was one whole pocket free on the left size of my kit and more space could be created for additional supplies with some tweaking of the current contents. Some suggestions for a better kit: toss out the "emergency guide" (if you're buying this kit, you hopefully know basic first aid), it takes up space and won't last long outside of the case. Remove at least half the bandaids (stick them in your glove compartment, your desk at work, your purse, your wallet or your pocket) and add more medications (there was nothing included for gastrointestinal issues, allergies, or cold relief and everybody can always use more pain relievers), more gloves, another roll of tape, another roll of gauze, a few more large (like kneecap road rash size) bandaids and some of the other various shapes depending on personal preference, a tube of general first aid cream, and more burn and sting care items if you mean to travel with it. Dump the tongue depressors unless you're really attached to them, and the same goes for the q-tips. If you wanted a more serious kit, you would probably want a cheap triangle bandage, a sam splint (which will not fit in the kit but would be good to have), an ace bandage, and some quickclot. And. Yeah ok that's about it. *shrug*

I am taking a six-week trip hiking through rough trails. The contents of this kit will take care of cuts, bruises, mosquito bites. Basically everything except medical events that require surgery or medics! so, what is actually included: 1) adhesive bandages including the fabric type for fingertips; 2) gauze dressing pads including one really big one labeled trauma pad (hope i am near a hospital if i ever need that one): 3) aluminized "rescue blanket" (again if i need it hope the hospital or paramedics are very close): 4) exam gloves for when you need to attend to bleeding people; 5) antiseptic towelettes; 6) non-aspirin and aspirin and ibuprofen pain relievers; 7) antibiotic ointment; 8) scissors, tweezers, cotton swabs and tape; 8) alcohol antiseptic pads; 9) single-use instant cold pack; 10) burn gel; 11) eye pads (again, want that hospital or medics nearby) 12) two tongue depressors; 13) paper thermometer; and 14) an emergency first aid guide booklet by the american red cross. . The guide is actually very extensive dealing with minor burns to tick and spider bites. The kit is very complete. However, i added a digital thermometer and covers, allergy medication and a travel size bottle of tylenol. First Aid Only 298 Piece All-purpose First Aid Kit, Soft Case Review (fao 442)

I got this kit before a trip to my cabin deep in the woods. We have no power or phone so until we can get help, we need to have some decent first aid for the just in case. . There are many many bandaids, so if you cut yourself, you're covered. You can cover your entire body with the amount of bandages in this kit. . The way i split wood and filet fish, that's a good thing. . The kit is pretty decent on its own, gauze and bandages, but i decided to add a few extra items. Individual antibiotic ointment packs in order to not infect the entire tube. I also found a packet of four small tubes of a blood clotting agent that claims to stop heavy bleeding. With chainsaws, machetes, knives, fishing hooks and every other object in the wilderness that slices through skin like a hot knife through butter, i figured this to be a good addition. . I added some tampons incase there is a deep wound. Just push the cotton into the wound and it may stop the bleeding if no major arteries were cut. . A few sanitary napkins for open wounds plus i unrolled some duct tape then re rolled it around a wooden match. About five feet took up about the size of a pencil. I added a better scissor that i could use to cut the duct tape into strips so there could be a hundred uses with that length. Making butterfly stitches or taping a gauze in place. . I added a few dozen more alcohol pads and some benadryl pills and bug bite pads. As well as aspirin and other o. T. C. Pain relief meds. I added a few packs of sutures incase we have to close a deeper wound, as well as iodine pads and a cheap but decent metal tweezer. . Yes i added a lot to the pack and it barely closes, but for the price of this kit and the quality contents, i felt it was a perfect starter for me to add my own touch to. . I will purchase several more, one for each vehicle and one to add to the basic kit in my house. . I may remove the contents and place them into another larger bag that i can attach to my back pack in order to add more items. . I highly recommend this kit, it didn't make the five star mark due to the abundance of certain items and absence of basic items that should be in every kit. Be sure to add a small but decent flash light, because it's no fun to fi fix an injury without seeing what you're doing. -X. Emma

First Aid Only Piece All Purpose Biss Basic

  • I solid start of what can become a solid first aid kit. My bit critique of this is that is a lot of band-aids not shy on stuff like disinfecting wipes, gauze and trauma pads. So it needs a bit of fortifying to be ready to properly treat a more than 1 wound more serious than a small cut. But gauze rolls and pads are stupid cheap at the local store. Still for the price its a nice start, and it comes in a soft carrying case meaning it will waste no room your pack.
  • Firstly, everything that was listed was in my kit. It was complete. . But it is stretching it a bit to say this has 299 pieces though. You have to count every aspirin, ibuprofen and non-aspirin separately. The gloves are counted as two separate gloves, not one pair. Even the gauze sponges (absorbent pads) have to have their layers separated to be able to count them as two separate sponges, even though it looks like just one pad per sterile sealed paper packet. You get the idea, technically it's 299 pieces, but few would count it as such. . The wallet is cheap, as are the scissors, but both work ok, at least in mine they did. Really, i am happy to give it four stars, because it is excellent value for money. The cold pack and the thermal "space blanket" for hypothermia / shock, are not cheap items on their own. So don't expect operating room quality items, but no where have i seen this comprehensive a kit, for this low a price. It is a good buy at this price, and i am happy with it! . . There is room for you to add small tubes of anti-itch cream for insect bites, more antiseptic / antibiotic creams, etc. With a few of your own special additions, it is wonderful for throwing in your "go" bag. The moleskin might puzzle some, but you cut pads out of it to protect blisters, or doughnuts to pad sore areas on your feet when walking. Things like that. It is actually a very thoughtful addition to a kit that can be put in a backpack for example. . The smallest "sticking plasters" (generic "band-aids") are really too small to be much use, as they come off very easily, they are perhaps best used for insect bites or stings.
  • Well designed kit for the money. Biggest drawback is an expiration date of less than two years. I would have been willing to pay more for couple extras - good sized roll of medical adhesive tape and some anti-cloting gauze.
  • I purchased mulitple kits and they are all different inside. One kit had the metal scissors seen in the picture and another had really cheap plastic ones. Also, one kit was stuffed more with bandaids while another actually had gauze and tape. All of them had a mylar blanket, instant cold pack, set of gloves and alcohol prep pads. One kit included medicines while the others did not and only one kit contained the burn gel and sting relief. All the kits where blue and from the outside looked exactly the same. . I could make a $1 store kit for about the same about of money! and that's what these kits really are. The scissors are rusty and some of the bandaids are brittle from age. I think these kits are worth a shot in your park bag or office desk drawer, an ifak they are not!
  • Bought two for cars. Planned to make some changes but wasn't ready for two different contents. Dumped the latex bandages (some family members have allergies), added some large gauze, put in additional aspirin, added larger antiseptic tube, added burn cream, anti-itch cream, and some antiacid. Should handle anything i am ready to deal with. Different contents in two kits bought on the same day really causes a quality control concern.

I bought this kit for my work desk. I'm pretty much the go-to girl for medical needs, and i don't count on the receptionist staff to keep the company's own hard first-aid kit well-stocked. This is kit is inexpensive enough that i don't mind sharing when something is needed. . There are a few things of my own that i added, nothing expensive, but to round out the kit. I share what i added to help anyone out w/ setting up their "ideal" kit, because no matter how good a kit is that you buy, inevitably something is lacking. Everything i added is easily found otc. I added a packet of dayquil (for allergies & colds coming on), a small box of anti-diarrheal medicine, 2 naproxen sodium pills (pain relief), a digital thermometer, a tube of orajel (tooth/gum/mouth pain), a packet of pepto-bismol chewables (gas, bloating, acid reflux, etc. ), a large waterproof adhesive bandage & an ace wrap. . This is the kit i chose to buy for my grandmother, my aunt & uncle & my best friend, as well- that is how helpful & great i think that the kit is. For very little money spent, i have piece of mind that people i love will also have a lot of important first-aid pieces (which would cost far more if bought separately) readily available to them now. You can't put a price on peace of mind, knowing that what's needed in an emergency (or even just for a minor cut or burn) is readily at hand. . Below is a complete listing of what's in this first-aid kit:. . Medicine, antiseptics. *6 - ibuprofen tablets. *6 - extra-strength non-aspirin tablets. *6 - aspirin tablets. *3 - insect sting relief pads. *6 - antibiotic ointment packs. *14 - alcohol cleansing pads. *15 - antiseptic cleansing wipes (sting free). *2 - first aid/burn cream packs. *1 - burn relief pack. . Especially if you don t own any bandaids or neosporin, just in case of an accident, this wouldn t be a bad investment. I took this with me on a week trip and i got blisters from hiking, paper cuts, random scratches. I never thought i was ever going to end up opening this thing until an apocalypse or some sort of natural disaster but nope. I ended up using it from a paper cut, which saved me a trip to the store so i can spend my time being present in the experience! we re definitely purchasing at least 2 more of these to have in our car and emergency backpack. You ll be surprised to see the stuff in there, like eye patches, little scissors. Super well thought out with everything being a pleasant surprise for how much i paid. . As for organization, i have slight ocd so i had to take everything out and count if i received it all. Which i did! the kit doesn t come in a particular order, if you don t want to waste your time checking everything, i promise you ll still be good to go."

The F.A.Q. for First Aid 298 Piece All-purpose First Aid Kit, Soft Case (First Aid Only)

I have bought four of these, and given two away. I don't play the "numbers game" of giving big praise for 150 inexpensive band-aids; but this has a number of other features, like single-serve otc medicines and salves, which are ideal. The pouch is sturdy and capacious. I add a few gauze rolls, a couple of neosporin type antibiotics bought from the dollar store, a few other things i want, and, voila, i've got a meaningful first aid kit. When i remove some of the cheap band-aids, there's space for much more in the pouch. . Gift recipients really, really like the idea of having a home-car-travel bag kit which can deal with all the "little emergencies" of life. Surprisingly, many of my friends have a box of band aids in their bathroom cabinet and that's all. "don't be like them"

A number of questions have been asked here.

I was looking for a good (affordable) first aid kit for my car for 'just in case' and to supplement my home supplies. I got this one for $11. 59 in blue and it was a steal. It's missing a couple things according to the red cross list. Triangle bandages can be picked up on online store for less than dollar (add-on item). Cpr face shields can be picked up cheap as well. I wish it had fewer band-aids and more first aid cream and burn packets, maybe add a couple missing items. Like someone else mentioned, the scissors and tweezers are cheap. I'd replace the tweezers at least, they're pretty useless. The one time thermometer is better than nothing but perhaps should be replaced by a cheap oral thermometer. The storage bag is thin plastic but seems durable enough for sitting around, allows for some expansion. I'm not sure how well it would hold up if in a rough environment. I think a less durable bag is a fine trade-off for more supplies for intended use. It has some room for more stuff if you want to add. The inside is pretty well organized with pockets and such. I think this a good 'start-off' kit that can easily be fit to your personal needs. Check dollar stores for any needed additional/replacement supplies. . Overall, it comes down to personal preference. Some of the other more expensive kits have (potentially) a more durable storage bag and come with some of the missing supplies. They have fewer supplies overall but it's probably mostly band-aids/pads. With the additional/replacement supplies the cost will probably be $20-25 depending on what you add. Most kits at that price are 150-200 pieces. It just depends on what you want and if you intend on adding/replacing items. . List of things to consider adding (red cross):. Triangle bandages (2). Cpr face mask/breathing barrier. Oral thermometer (non glass/non mercury). Amounts of bandages vary but i think you're probably fine. . Personal ideas depending on intended storage and level of anxiety:. Hand sanitizer. Safety pins. Glow stick(s)/small flashlight. Poncho(s). Maybe even a small pocket knife if you don't normally carry one (which you should). Emergency whistle. Aloe gel for sunburns. Hydrocortisone cream. Tourniquet. . Another kit to consider: first aid kit in red fabric bag with reflective strip (104 pieces) for emergency and survival situations. Ideal for the car, camping, hiking, travel, office, sports, pets, hunting, home

Best first aid 298 piece all-purpose first aid kit, soft case (first aid only) in review

I moved over the summer and stocked up on some home essentials for the new place, including replacing my old medicine cabinet with its random assortment of first aid sundries acquired on and off over a decade. . This kit literally has everything. Honestly, i just ordered it because it seemed to have most of what i needed and was on a good sale. For the price of two boxes of bandaids i found literally everything that one could need for minor household incidents. It comes with a vareity of adhesive bandages, a bunch of different pain killer single does options (critical when i realized my ibprofen bottle was empty and i had a terrible headache), and even small scissors so i would not have to look for a pair in an emergency. . Very pleasantly surprised with the utility.

I bought this to keep in the car on family trips. This is one of the most thorough first aid kits at this price that i have come across. It has plenty of items (including several types of non-aspirin pain relievers) and they are well-organized. I love that it includes things like antibiotic ointment, sting relief, alcohol prep pads and antiseptic towelettes (and plenty of each of these) that most other kits don't have (or don't give you enough of). . I was surprised by the number of fabric and plastic bandages of various sizes that came in the kit. There must have been at least 40 of each different size and type (so more than 150 total). There are enough that i could probably re-attach a severed limb with them, if the need arose. Since i could not anticipate ever needing that many all at once, i kept some in the kit and used the rest to re-stock the other first-aid kits in other vehicles as well as the supply of bandages we keep in the house. . I was originally disappointed that it did not come with an instant cold pack (the kind you squeeze and shake), until i opened one of the other first aid kits i own to find that the cold pack had leaked and ruined all of the other items. So if you decide to purchase a cold pack to add to the kit, i suggest that you double-bag that before putting it in. . Overall, a great product at a great price.

I really like this kit, and for the price, you can't beat it. It's perfect for regular use - cuts, scrapes, burns etc. , but i really bought this in case of a different scenario. If we ever needed to get out of the house in a hurry, i wanted to have something that's small and easy to grab but something that also has some extra things in it aside from the usual. I love that it comes with a bunch of medicine packets for pain relief, headaches and diarrhea. This also has 2 thermal rescue blankets, cold pack and a thermometer - all of which i was looking for in a first aid kit. It all comes neatly packed in a good quality case with a good quality zipper.

So we live in california and we know that an earthquake is inevitable at any moment in time. We are starting our emergency kit and a first aid kit was on the list. I searched low and high to find the right first aid kit. I didn't want something that was $50 and had things i would never use. This was the perfect kit. It is compact and small and fits amazing in the space i needed it to fit. I found other first aid kits to be bulky and pricey. I would highly recommend this kit if they are looking for something simple.

A. Newell, Wandsworth

Sweet deal from this particular seller at twelve bux. I removed it all and separated into ziplock bags and it fits way better in my olive bag. I bought a military bag for a few bux from china, and a medic patch for a couple more bux. Room to add some of my own stuff too like snake bite kit, sunscreen and bug repellent. Pic of my hiking kit:

B. Wade, Saarland says

Really amazing all the stuff you get in this small pack for such a low price. I took the advice of some other reviewers and added some allergy medicine, gauze wrap, and better quality metal needle nose tweezers to the kit. I plan to take this with me on hikes, so i also removed most of the bandages (they seriously give you a huge amount - enough bandages to last me for years) and some of the other duplicate items like painkillers to lighten the load a little bit.

F. Erickson, Michigan

The great thing about this kit is that it gives you an idea of what you should include if you were creating a kit on your own. Yeah, you could get a list off the net but if you bought everything separately it would probably cost a lot more for something you may not use very often except for minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. If you're anticipating some other injuries like a major emergency, look elsewhere. Like other people have pointed out there's a lot of bandages included. Combining these with the ones i already had, i probably have enough bandages to sustain an army. Even if you have a large family you're not likely to ever use all of these. But, they include several odd shaped bandages which are good to have around until you can get to a store. . This is a good starter kit if you're traveling or hiking but i wouldn't rely on it solely for the home especially if you have kids. . Not really cons but something to think about. . - i took the cold pack out and put it in a foodsaver bag and then shoved it under the seat of my car. Not sure how it will hold up to the heat in my area but at least if it leaks the bag should keep it sealed. . - i wish they had provided more of the odd shaped bandages. . - no eye wash. . - only 1 pair of nitrile gloves. Um, no. . - 1 survival blanket. Hopefully i'll never use this but if i ever did, i wouldn't want to have just 1. . - the expiration date on mine was 9/18 - good enough. . - the tweezers, scissors and tape are pretty mickey mouse for a major cut but it's not likely you will be using these very often. . - the most important item for me is antiseptic cream. There are only a few packets and there's only 1 burn gel pack. . - no sunscreen which is surprising. . - i wish they had included a list of items in the pack. There's four adhesive square felt strips included. I haven't got a clue what they're for except perhaps holding gauze together.

I. Debra, Hartlepool says

Extremely impressed with the quality of this product. What i have received far exceeded my expectations and i am ordering another two sets as gifts and another two sets for our family vehicles. I have looked at a lot of first aid kits and i will have to say with all honesty this by far is the best bang for the buck.

K. Angela, Maryland

Of course this is something that no one ever wants to use but its there in case you need it. I bought mine for my emergency bag/rucksack. I have a small family which includes animals. Granted most of the items in here would and could not be used on animals but in an emergency you use whatever you have. Pros and cons of this kit:. . Pro. Small enough to tuck away in your pack but large enough not to loose. While i did not see a picture of the reflective strip in the pictures this could be beneficial when someone needs to find the location. Also easy to see the pack at night. The scissors pictured online are not what came with my pack. To me this is a good thing as the ones i received would be more efficient at cutting close to the skin. Quick guide to first aid and cpr. While it would be good to familiarize oneself with the basics it is always good to have on hand as a reference. Soft shell and easy to fit in small areas. Cons. . I would like to be able to organize this better as in an emergency time can be crucial. . All i all i give it 5 stars the con to me is not crucial enough to knock it down. This is a first aid kit, not and emt bag. Also this is light weight so as to keep my pack easy to move with. I am by no means a prepper but have lived through my fair share of natural disasters. I will be getting one for my car and my wife's car to put in the glove box it might be a little snug to fit but it does not have a hard shell and can be molded within reason to fit tight spaces.

W. Guest, Kensington and Chelsea says

Love this handy dandy emergency kit. It comes with everything you could ask for in a compact zipper-close, take with you wherever you go kit. I bought one for my sisters going on a roadtrip- and i felt safer that they had it with them, because you just never know. It comes with instructions- but everything in it is pretty self-explanatory. Will be ordering more so everyone in my family has one. As a healthcare professional- im prepared for the worst, and this little kit gives my piece of mind.

J. Lynette, Idaho

For the price it's a decent small injury kit - cuts and scrapes only. I keep a bunch of these around in places like the car and garage/workshop. This kit has enough bandaids to last a while without refilling. I also use these kits as the basis for a larger kit to handle longer term use. For example, there are only enough pills/gloves/gauze for 1 use. I throw in several more pairs of nitrile gloves, more rolled gauze, and a bunch more pills and ointments (just buy the 100 count packs available elsewhere on online store and put 20 in each kit). This also will not be any good for any kind of major trauma. Add in trauma pads, quickclot, tourniquet, zfold, chest seal, israeli bandage and good medical/duct tape, etc. And you'll be a lot better prepared for a real emergency. . For the price of $13 this is a lot better than most of the plastic box kits i see in big box and corner drugstores for double the price.

. Gloria, Portsmouth says

This is a really good basic medkit. I bought this because it was a smaller size, compact, but still looked to be full enough to take with me on a camping trip for emergency medical supplies. The kit comes with all of the basic supplies that you would need in general situations such as adhesive bandages (latex and fabric), gauze, pain medication, sterilization pads (multiple types), burn gel, and a few cold compresses. That being said, it's definitely not a perfect medkit. It's one that's great for having around the house. My biggest issue is simply the lack of different types and greater amounts of gauze, as well as some sort of respiration mask. That being said, it's also limited on its gloves, because if you're using it to doctor someone else, you may use it more than once for minor things, and you're going to need more than the two pairs that mine had in it. Overall, it's a good buy for the price, but it's definitely not the best choice for more serious emergency situations.

T. Melissa, Blackburn with Darwen says

Only missing one small pack of antibiotic ointment. I received blue bag and red scissors. The gauze pads say 2 etc. But it is really 2 inside one package. The pills are 2 per package so not 6 packages of each. Just 3 packs for each type. Kit packaged similar to picture but not exactly. Not as organized as picture but all is included except the one thing of ointment. I should have gotten 6 and i received 5. Lots of bandaids to last a long time! i wish more than one burn gel but i will supplement. And yes the roll of gauze is very small. But i would buy again so far.

Q. Anonymous, Saskatchewan

The first aid only all-purpose first aid kit is a bargain for the price. I keep one of these in all of my family's cars in case of emergency, and it has come in handy more than a couple of times. It has so many items included and pretty much whatever you would need for most minor first aid needs is in here, plus some. We've never seen anything with quite so many items included in a price even close to this. How many times have you been out somewhere for the day and had a headache and needed a pain killer, or gotten a paper cut and needed a bandaid (but didn't have one in the right size)? from about 100 bandages of different sizes and types, to antiseptic wipes, antibiotic pouches, anti-itch and anti-sting relief, burn relief, moleskin, gloves, and emergency blanket, a cold compress, and one time use thermometer, scissors, and tweezers it really has a solution for about every kind of minor first aid situation that could come up in a given day or even on a camping trip. . We've actually purchased these as gifts for other family members as well, and they have all loved how small and convenient these are and how many things are packed into this great case that can stow away so easily in the car. . It includes a few small packs of acetaminophen, aspirin, and ibuprofen, and we noticed these had an expiration date of about a year after our purchase, and these can be easily replaced by putting a few of each of these pills in a plastic bag when the other packs need to be replaced. . The plastic tweezers are the only thing i might replace in the kit with metal ones, only because if someone got a splinter out camping or hiking, i'm not sure the plastic ones would be very helpful. Otherwise, totally great kit. . If you don't want to spend significantly more money but want a great all purpose first aid kit, this one is fantastic.

S. Taylor, Virginia says

It came equipped with just about everything i need. It obviously wasn't organized because it just has so much in it but if you need a first aid kit of any sort, i'd recommend this one and the price is decent.

H. Benton, Nord-Pas-de-Calais

For the price you pay, there is so much in here! i've dropped this in my car as an emergency aid kit and i've already used it twice for my friends who have had some minor cuts and bruises as well as someone who had a larger scrape. There's pair reliever tablets, burn relief patches, band aids of all sizes in here. If you need something for your day to day first aid use, it can likely be found in here. It even comes in a handy carrying case that you can toss anywhere. At 13 dollars, this is an absolute steal!

O. Laura, Kingston upon Thames says

For the price, how could you not be satisfied with this kit? this kit comes loaded and almost busting at the seams with a lot of practical items that will be great for first aid - exactly what this kit is intended for. As an emt, i bought this to have in my car in case i come across the scene with someone that needs medical attention - i can provide first aid while i'm waiting on the others in the ambulance. A couple years ago, i happened to stumble across a rather scary single-vehicle car accident before anyone else had come across it or even reported it - this would've been a great kit to have - at minimum, for the gloves and gauze. I did, however, throw in a couple other items of my own like a pair of decent trauma shears and a few extra pair of some quality nitrile gloves. The bag is rather light duty but the zipper feels pretty tough so i'm not too concerned about longevity. Overall, a great kit for the price!

P. Nees, West Berkshire

I like to have a well stocked first aid kit nearby as much as possible, especially in my car. I bought a larger first aid kit with a hard plastic case to keep in my suv, but i wanted another kit that was smaller to keep in my backpack wherever i go. . I bought this based on reviews, and i must say that for $15 this kit deserves a 4. 5 - 5 rating. With that said, i not used most of the products in this bag yet, with the exception of band aids and whatnot. They stick just fine, and theres lots of them. Keep in mind, this bag is packed for its size, yet still has a little room left for a couple extras if you so desire. Also keep in mind i wouldn't expect this kit to be all inclusive for a traumatic injury of course - but then again if you're expecting to deal with traumatic injuries, you probably shouldn't be looking at $15 first aid kits. So for what it is, this is a very well stocked kit for a great price. . Some additions i would recommend would include a set of nice tweezers and scissors. The included tweezers are plastic, and the shears that are included are very small and are in a sealed bag to keep them clean (i included a picture of these items to show what comes in the kit). . All in all, if you're looking for a portable first aid kit that is easily accessible, this is a great choice. It fits nicely in a large compartment of a backpack (where i keep mine), a large purse, or you could fit it in the glove box of most vehicles. I would also add that this is about the threshold of a widely portable kit; if you get a more advanced kit, you will often start to lose portability as the kits typically start getting pretty large. So this is about the best price/portability/product combination for the price, in my opinion.

C. Gladys, Medway says

This kit is well thought-out as far as the different items that are in it. Although 299 pieces is a little deceptive. . There are 196 band-aids, 50 of which are the tiny "junior" band-aids. I suppose those junior band-aids can come in handy if you have small kids. Not necessarily for using as band-aids but to give them something that makes them feel better. A small badge of honor, a trophy to show that they've been wounded, even though it's superficial at best. . Also the ibuprofen aspirin and tylenol which are listed at 6 each is really just 3 packages of 2 each. It should also be noted that some of the medication expires in a little more than a year. That doesn't really worry me too much though because contrary to common belief over the counter medication does not get dangerous with age, it just loses potency. . What i wish this kit had is less band-aids and was better stocked with the other items. The kit only has 1 trauma pad, 1 4x4 sterile gauze, 1 gauze roll, one burn gel, one set of gloves, and on. I mean if i'm really in a situation where i need a 4x4 gauze, only one is not going to do much for me. I guess i could always put 20 band-aids on it and hope it holds. . For the price i paid (under $12) being that it was on sale, i do suppose i got my money's worth. It's a good starting point for someone to build a kit. In order for it to be an excellent kit it will need to be fortified.

G. Florence, Nova Scotia

I am always looking for first aid supplies. My boyfriend and i go camping quite often, and having a comprehensive first-aid kit is essential when hiking and even car camping! i am also one of those people who likes to plan ahead, so i have several emergency kits (one in case we are stuck in the house, one for each of us in case we have to evacuate, one for each of our cars, and one for traveling and camping). This is the most comprehensive first-aid kit i have come across for the price point. I've seen similar kits cost way more, and i've even tried compiling my own kits from $1 store items, and this is the best value i have found for the money. It has all of the essentials, and no skimping on quality!

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Z. Brenda, City of Kingston upon Hull says

It s not often you need bandages and had them have just arrived but i found myself with an abrasions from a battle with an angle grinder. The kit has a great assortment of items. That being said, the bandaids adhesive is like tar making the adhesion great but removal very painful. It also left behind the glue that took a lot of effort to get off. Considering the adhesive on the bandaids, it was surprising to have only 1/4 tape that barely stuck to anything. I ended up buying a different kit at the corner of happy and healthy .

H. Cortney, Washington

The first-aid kit would have been okay if only it had a longer shelf life. I purchased two in march, 2017, and the both have expiration dates of august, 2018. That is only a year and a half before the kit expires. I would expect any first-aid kit to have a shelf-live of at least 3-5 years. Yes, the price was low, but no where in the product description was the expiration date mentioned.

G. Colleen, Greenwich says

I got this thinking that i was saving so much money and getting so much product, so far 10 of the bandaids didn't have any stick to them at all, and 6 of the others didn't stay on for long.

W. Monique, Surrey

I purchased 2 of these first aid kits back in late dec 2016 (3 months ago). Today, i opened the cold compress for my son and the entire bag just exploded as soon as i opened it. . See attached.

N. Clara, Poitou-Charentes says

I always have a trama kit in my car and at my home. These have been a great basic first aid kit to add into my supplies. Have already used it when coming upon two unfortunate accidents and a couple cuts at home. Perfect for a nurse or even a grad gift for a college student. Only con is i ran into two products that were expired already. But it was something i already had plenty of so no big deal. Just go through the packs when you get them.

A. Sally, North Carolina

I was a bit disappointed in this first aid kit which boasted about its contents and functionality. As a nurse i found it lacking on multiple levels. It is very basic, not unlike the local ers give to patents for free as a promotional item. I would have preferred a bit sturdier case with thought put into the kit. Would not purchase again.

C. Smith, Mississippi says

Decent general first aid pack. Only issue is it doesn't come with the full-metal scissors pictured. It instead comes with some really cheap plastic handled scissors. For that lapse in as-advertised accuracy i only give it 3 stars.

O. Kristen, Salford

Did not get everything listed check your case when you get it, they must be hoping nobody will check to see if everything they list will be in it. So disappointing. Where you see open spots in the pictures those items i didn t receive and there were quite a few . The pills i didn t get enough. No thermometer etc.

X. Jacqueline, East Riding of Yorkshire says

I got cheated with the missing pieces that were supposed to be in the bag. I counted them 3 times and were still missing these items:. Missing 3 insect sting relief pads. Missing emergency blanket. Missing 3 of 6 gauze pads (2" x 2"). Missing 2 of 4 gauze pads (3" x 3"). Missing 1 of 2 gauze pads (4" x 4"). Missing 1 of 2 nitrile exam gloves. Otherwise i would have given it 5 stars. I'm hoping to get these 11 missing items delivered to me.

. Alberta, Sandwell

Comes with a wide variety of items to have a decent start of a first aid kit. But the pictures don t exactly match up- the scissors are dinky little plastic ones but the picture shows metal-looking ones that appear larger. Not sure if the picture is correct and i got an older package, or vice versa. The canvas bag is decent, holds everything in (little more structured organizing pouches would have been nice). Haven t gone through the entire pack to make sure it was all there as listed, as others have done. For $10, it s a good start.

. Shawna, Connecticut says

For the price, this is a steal. . Thankfully i have not needed to use this, but it does have an extensive inventory to handle everyday boo boos. . Pros:. -lots of items for the price to tackle everyday boo boos. -nice flat case that can fit in any bag without taking too much space. . Cons:. -has a ton of bandages. I would have personally liked if they cut some of those out and put in other items one may need.

. Meghan, Queensland

I got this thing as my kit for 2-3 hiking trips. As my small crew's designated "medic" (basically the guy most comfortable with first aid, and by far the most training), i have been satisfied with this kit. While i've luckily not had to use it often in it's intended role, the few times that i have busted it out it's proved to be ideal. . It's primary focus is on common bandages, but that's the thing you're going to use the most and i appreciate that they didn't skimp out. There's also a number of "one off" items (cold pack, thermometer, survival blanket, trauma pad) that are situational in nature, but still important to have 'just in case. ' it is by no means a comprehensive kit for anything outside of basic first aid, but it gives enough capability that it gives me confidence hiking this thing into the woods with two firecraft freaks who tend to find new and interesting ways to cut themselves. . Critical analysis:. . -it does provide far more bandages than you could reasonably expect to expend compared to antiseptic wipes and antibiotic ointments. I added in a tube of neo. -the tweezers are laughable (cheep cheep cheep plastic) and i threw them away in favor of cheep metal ones from a drug store. -the scissors cut, but it's worth seeing if they cut well enough for you, or replacing them with something more to your taste. -the soft case is cheep, but it works and organizes the pack well. I tend to drop the whole kit into a gallon freezer style ziplock bag for some added water resistance. -kit includes aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, but no antihistamine. -two mini rolls of 'medical' tape are not very wide at all, good for bandage tie down, but bad for any kind of 'ace' bandage like wrapping. I threw in a small roll of athletic tape to augment it. . Conclusion:. If you get this kit, expect to change out a few things, add a few things, and tailor it to what you're doing. It will give you a solid foundation to build on, and for 90% of what you need, it's got you covered fine.

V. Powell, Sheffield says

There's a lot of the same items in this. Mine contained mainly alcohol wipes and bandaids. It's a mess too. You should be able to find things quickly and easily in an emergency. The american red cross recommends kits for a family of four include the following:. . - 2 absorbent compress dressings (5 x 9 inches). - 25 adhesive bandages (assorted sizes). - 1 adhesive cloth tape (10 yards x 1 inch). - 5 antibiotic ointment packets (approximately 1 gram). - 5 antiseptic wipe packets. - 2 packets of aspirin (81 mg each). - 1 blanket (space blanket). - 1 pocket mask/breathing barrier (with one-way valve). - 1 instant cold compress. - 2 pair of non-latex gloves (size: large). - 2 hydrocortisone ointment packets (approximately 1 gram each). - scissors. - 1 roller bandage (3 inches wide). - 1 roller bandage (4 inches wide). - 5 sterile gauze pads (3 x 3 inches). - 5 sterile gauze pads (4 x 4 inches). - oral thermometer (digital). - 2 triangular bandages. - tweezers. - first aid instruction booklet (read it before you need it! ). . My own suggestions (add to kit):. . - sterile gloves! . - some 6" long pre-cut strips of standard kinesiology tape to reduce pain and swelling. - antihistamine (benadryl). - injectable epinephrine and/or asthma inhaler if you require them. - diarrhea medication (imodium). - anti-nausea medication (dramamine). - emergency contact numbers. - current list of medications and allergies. - hemostatic (blood-stopping) gauze. - liquid bandage. - sunburn relief gel or spray. - lubricating eye drops/wash. - q-tips. - discuss with your physician first so if you're drug tested at work you have medical documentation. Medical marijuana (cbd) if it's legal in your state. It's legal in some states where thc is not because cbd is not psychoactive. An indica strain with 25% cbd can do a lot for pain without leaving you addicted to pain killers. Matches and a joint protection tubule should be fine.

D. Glenda, Sefton

At first, i thought this was the absolute best value after looking thru dozens of first aid kit options. However, when i finally purchased this one and had to use the bandaids in this kit, they gave me such a bad chemical burn, i will never use a bandaid again that is not bandaid brand. I have no idea the glue in them or where exactly this was made, but i am forever going to chose quality over quantity. Lesson learned. I am still putting aloe vera and different things to try and treat the burn, but it looks like it may even leave a huge scar now. So disappointed.

E. Marguerite, Leeds says

It has a lot of stuff in it, but it is lacking in some of the more bigger injury category. Some of my bandages were actually caught in the zipper and ripped the packaging of the bandages. Not a big deal, but a slight quality control annoyance. For the price. It's ok. I've seen better.

F. Theola, Schleswig-Holstein

This has a lot of bandages, scissors, tape, . It really is an emergency first aid kit. Be advised, though, that the ointments and things you might apply to wounds or bites have an expiration date. Mine expires in 2018. I thought that was a little too soon since i bought it this year. There aren't many emergencies but then you never know. I used to fill up the medical cabinets at work, and the little packets of neosporin-like ointments didn't seem to expire so soon.

B. Cathy, Devon

Something in kit erupted in my car white ooze all over kit. Had to dump it.

S. Lewis, Wigan says

Extremely unorganized. To me first aid means immediate use. This was a jumbled mess. It took at least 30 minutes to sort out. Did not look anything like the photo. What in the world do i need probably 100 bandaids the same size in an emergency.

J. Denise, Limousin

The only thing this kit is good for is band-aids. You might as well just buy a couple boxes of band-aids. This kit is lacking. Let the photo speak for itself. It's 80% band-aids. If you have a large group of kids that are small accident-prone, and need band-aids to make you feel better, then this might be for you. I will be returning this period and purchasing an adventure medical kit brand kit.

. Anonymous, Thurrock says

It is a good kit, however like others have posted in their reviews, make sure you check to make sure its all there! i was dissppointed to notice the tweezers had been conveniently left out of mine. Because this is such a common occurrence i will not be buying again. Also like others have said, it s good to add a few other essential things to the kit if you ve got them.

The (plentiful) bandages are basically useless space fillers. The adhesive on the bandages is so weak they fall right off. Don't buy this brand (first aid only), look for something better quality. You get what you pay for, and with first aid supplies that really matters.

I feel cheated! this first aid kit was supposed to contain 299 items, and if you count a single package of two pills as 2 items, a package of two gauze pads as 2 items, then i suppose it does contain 299 items. That is absurd! who in the world would count a sealed package of two pills as 2 items or a sealed, sterile package of two gauze pads as 2 items? once either is opened, then even if only one pill or sterile pad is used, the other becomes unusable since the package has been opened. There is absolutely no doubt that the description of this first aid kit is deceptive!

K. Emily, Niedersachsen

It is unclear to me where the high rating for this kit comes from. It is cheaply made and highly impractical. The supplies are randomly thrown into big pockets. There is no way to organize the kit in a meaningful way. In a true emergency everything would just fall out. I returned it.

There's some good basic stuff like gauze pads and band aids but seem kinda cheaply manufactured. This is obviously better than nothing but only for pretty much major and minor scrapes and maybe just as a feel good thing on the soccer field or in the car but realistically you're probably gonna use band-aids if you have any kind of cut because the quality of band aid is way better than these. . If i was doing anything outdoors in any kind of remote setting or even a day hike in the woods, i would get a much better kit with a lot more things. I realize this says "essentials" and their definition of "essentials" is very different than mine.

I did not get everything listed. I was very disappointed. I bought this for a trip i went on. I did end up needing it on the trip. I found no butterfly strips, no ice pack, no trauma pad or plastic bandages. After reading the description again, i found more that i was missing!

I got this today opened it and looked just like my pictures here. Very messy, unorganized cheap plastic. Seems like everything was just stuffed in there quickly. I will not be ordering this again. It will be helpful to hold the stuff, but i wanted something more organized than this.

Bought two of these for each car, okay car kit for minor items, i would suggest for more serious things, car accident, outdoor excursions etc, sports you improve this kit with some more gauze only has one small pack as well as something like a quick clot sponge. Its has all the band aids you will ever need as well as many basics, and a good kit for the price. The reason i gave it 3 stars is because in both kits i got they did not have all 299 pieces listed, specifically it was missing some of the larger bandages and pads, it would have 2 or 3 when it should have had 6 according to the list on the packaging. This happen on 4-5 things in each kit, i think there just not putting them in, as they were missing the same amount on both kits ordered about 2 weeks apart. Sum it up good kit for the price can't build it for the cost, and somethings is always better then nothing, but could use a little more stuff for serious injury.
