Champion Men’s Long Mesh Short Pockets (81622) 462

Review for /champion mens long short pockets

Price was 9. The only difference i see is the russell shorts are maybe 1. 5" longer and seem to be slightly "roomier". I like the length of the champion shorts while standing, but they almost become too short for my liking while doing certain exercises. In the end i give a slight preference to the russell shorts. The length is at or slightly below the knee, but perfect when doing squats or other similar exercises.

Im normally a large or medium, i had to buy a small :d. Make sure you size it right before you buy. . I'm 6'1", 185 lbs, athletic, usually wear 32-34 pants, small fits perfectly, if you like it somewhat more baggy (basketball'y), get medium. If you buy bigger you can use it as a tent next time you go hiking *thumb-up*. . Overall, great quality (i own 3 pairs), but wrong sizing. • These are good athletic shorts. They're the usual athletic mesh - and they have pockets and an internal drawstring, which are both important features for my hubby. They run a little large, however, and even with the drawstring tightly tied, tend to slip down as he wears them. He does a lot of tugging to keep them up. These would have been more successful if we ordered down a size.
  • I've done a thorough search in my son's age and size group on online store for navy blue gym shorts for school and came across a lot of dead ends. He is 13 and i was always coming across shorts being to little even in the largest size. He is 5 ft and slender which should make it fairly easy. Fed up and not having time to go to various stores i decided to try shorts in mens and in the brand that's quite tried and true. He loves them. I went with small in men and it hits below his knees in standing position and when he sits, squats or sits indian style it doesn't hike all the way up past his thighs. These comfy shorts gives him a lot of room for running and playing basketball. I will be back here when he out grows them.
  • Measuring these pants reveals that compared to the exact same model number of champion long shorts in other colors, these white shorts in size m have the same 9" inseam but significantly larger measurements for waist and overall length. They also feel longer and wider. If i could have tried them on before the purchase, i would have bought size s.
  • Dissappointed in these shorts. I didn t expect much, as they were cheap, but these are basically useless. The shorts are so thin that you can see through them. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of clothes. Drawstring also doesn t hold the shorts up well.
  • In my opinion, they fit as i expected. I typically vary between 34 and 36 size pants, so i am used to pants being tight or baggy just depending on the manufacturer. I have some ham sized thighs, so typically mediums are too tight for them to handle. I went with large in these, they are slightly baggy on me. The shorts are shorter than many athletic alternatives now-a-days, but still ride down to the knee. The shorts are moderately transparent. There is a double layered build, but both of which are fairly thin. If you are rocking bubble-gum pink underwear, the world may be able to spot that. . The main issue i had with these shorts was the fact that the drawstring snapped after only 2 uses. Due to the waist and length being a little big for my "marge" "large-medium" sizing build, the drawstring was completely necessary for me to keep these shorts on while working out. I went to put these on for the third time and the string popped. These shorts are now useful only for lounging. Pretty disappointing for this to happen while being so new. . I only paid around 10 dollars for these, so it isn't a huge bummer. Just be prepared, these are not some high-dollar quality shorts. If you want shorts to pound some iron for many months, these might not be for you. If you just want to strut around wal-mart comfortably, or sit around playing your hearthstone and trolling on internet forums: save some money and go for it.

These are my favorite athletic shorts to date. I actually always have a pair in my cart and anytime i need to hit a certain dollar amount i buy these. Very comfortable. Breathable. Elastic is comfortable. It has 2 pockets. Colors are pretty accurate. My favorite is the dark grey. I'm 5'10, 210lbs and the large fits perfect. I could go up or down 20lbs and would expect them to still fit appropriately.

They run large though, in my opinion and it was difficult to keep them up with the simple string cinch when i have my phone/car keys/wallet in the pockets at the same time. Makes jogging or working out a bit annoying. An adjustable clasp or even single tie would have been preferred. But if you're just lounging around, these are great and very comfortable."

Under Armour Men's Raid 10 Shorts

Under armour raid shorts are the best shorts i have ever bought. The material is soft and thin. Have several different colors and plan on getting several more. Lighter colors can show more than what some would feel comfortable with and you may want to wear something under them. But if that doesnt bother you, want shorts that feel like your wearing none, then these are perfect. Enjoy

Under Armour Men's Raid 10 Shorts (1253527) FAQ.

I am a short 5'6" man and was going to order a medium size pair of shorts but because i have quite big gluteus maximus muscles, i went ahead and ordered me some size large. I am very satisfied with this product because it conforms to your body type which is rare for any other type of training shorts. It is very durable, high quality, breathable, and high end name. -Notice from C. Irene, Nottingham

Small rant. Time and time again i read reviews on online store where buyers rate a product poorly when it is obvious they didn't do the due diligence on what they were purchasing. Yes the material it thin. Because it is under armour heat gear and you wear it when it is hot. . Where i would not wear these: the gym. I don't care if you have micro-junk. Your package is going to show. . Where i would wear these shorts: lounging around at home and playing sports outside when it is hot. . I'm 6'6", 240 pounds and athletic. The xl fit me very comfortably. Pleased with my purchase as i'm capable of reading the english language and understanding what this product is and is not.

- B. AnonymousMy go to shorts. I have about 6-7 pairs of ua raid shorts. Very comfortable and lightweight. They are sheer and the white will definitely show off your underwear. And darker colors are also a little sheer. Just wear nice underwear!

Hands down under armors best shorts in my opinion. I love these so much i ve bought 1 pair in almost every color. They have really nice length to them so when you work out they don t go too much up your leg. The fabric is comfortable and overall the fit is just right. I will most likely order more of these

The F.A.Q. for Champion Men's Long Mesh Short Pockets (81622)

Bought these a second time for my husband. He really likes having pockets so these are perfect! the pockets are deep enough to carry even a relatively large smart phone while working on cars or in the yard (or just lazying around the house) - while still being great of course for working out or running. The light grey is very light in color and probably wasn't the best pick for car work - but meh. Price is right and fit as expected. Great shorts.

These shorts are very comfortable and fit just right. I use them for when i job and they breathe very well. The only issue that i have with them is there's just 1 drawstring for you to adjust and not like 2 strings that you to tie together. I would rather 2 strings because i feel like that gives me more support but other that these shorts are quite nice!

Best champion men's long mesh short pockets (81622) in review

My standards for athletic shorts are pretty simple. Are they mesh? is there an elastic waistband? do the legs stop at or around my knees? the answer to all three is a resounding "yes. " i am not an athlete. I find that athletic wear is best suited for sitting comfortably on a couch. I have road-tested these shorts in that application and found them thoroughly up to snuff. I mean, i also wore them to mow the lawn and stuff, and they are fine for that. I'm just saying that the bulk of my testing was sofa-based. A huge bonus with these is how lightweight and breathable they are, by the way.

A. Annette, Vermont

T. Harrison, Tennessee says

I'm giving this 4 stars for the simple fact that i've had a little difficulty with sizing - i normally prefer my gym shorts to be a size large, so initially ordered a few pairs of these in large and found that they slid off while jogging, even when cinched. Mind you, dropping down a size always feels good, but i was a little surprised. I then purchased a few pairs in medium (for the price, i figured having a bunch would be good, as i wear a different pair each day while working out). The medium, to my surprise, still slides down pretty easily too, even when cinched. Part of this is because of the material - they're a very smooth mesh - and i wear compression shorts underneath, so the combination of the 2 makes them easy to slide down. Not really a huge issue, but i've had other gym shorts that stayed in place a little better. That being said, i'm overall very happy with these - just be prepared to buy your true size rather than sizing up or you might have a similar issue. . A big pro to these - they feel great! the material is very light and doesn't feel bulky while working out, unlike other mesh shorts i've owned over the years. The don't restrict range of motion at all and are very comfortable! also, i like mine to be a bit longer which is what initially drew me to making a purchase - i stand about 5'11" tall and these fall to mid-knee for me, which is right where i want them. That is a huge selling point for me! . . One word of caution with the white - they're basically see-through. I love the look of them, but if you plan on wearing them to the gym or outside for a jog, be forewarned. You can see the tie string right through them and tell what color of underwear you're wearing without even needing backlighting. So depending on your choice of undergarments these can be a little shocking depending on when/where you wear them and what you wear them with.

I. Connie, Wisconsin

These are slightly different than the pocket-less version. These have a draw-string and fit looser requiring you to use the draw-string to keep them up, especially if you put your phone or wallet in your pocket. I figured out a trick to using the draw-string. 1) put on your shorts, . 2) pull all the excess string out. 3) divide it in half from left to right so you can hold half in each hand. 4) tie this into a knot. 5) you can tighten it up by pulling individual strings on either side. 6) once tight, just twirl/twist the slack over and over, then tuck into your pants/underwear and it won't come loose. . If you try to tie a bow, it can cause knots which are a pain to unravel when tight.

U. Guest, Minnesota says

Great shorts. That is what comes to mind when i think of this pair. The fit is right on the money. I am 6 feet tall and weight 183. The large was perfect, with plenty of room without looking overly baggy. It fits and looks great. The drawstring is quite adjustable and the elastic is just right, preventing those enbarrasing waist "marks" like many others do. As mentioned in the headline, i have used these shorts for crossfit, yoga and everything in between. They are amazing. They are also quite breathable and have two pockets on the sides. Some might say that these tend to be see through, but as long as you wear dark colored underwear or compression shorts, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Give them a try!

. Guest, Illinois

I'm a mens 33-34, and the medium size fits me perfectly. They're very comfortable, lightweight, and have two pockets! (one on each side). They are a bit semi-transparent due to how lightweight+breathable they are, so be careful as to your choice of boxer/brief color. . Pros:. -lightweight+breathable. -comfortable. -pockets (side). . Cons:. They are so thin that if you wear black or dark colored boxers underneath, you will be able to see through them a bit, and if you go swimming in these or they get wet, just make sure you're not going commando, unless you're a bit of an exhibitionist. ; )

P. Peggy, Torbay says

Great shorts, i got the ones in heather gray, true to fit. Pocket size is little less than generous which is nice for active wear. Material is good and durable. The mesh really isn't an issue for me, not completely see through like others are complaining about, most white clothes are a little see through no matter what you are buying. The only downside is the drawstring, its the reason for the 4 star rating, its the crappiest drawstring i can say that i have ever had the pleasure of owning. Everything else however is top notch. Thanks

Z. Palmer, Darlington

These shorts fit as expected. They are not too long or too short. The only draw back is the drawstring does not go through the whole short. It's two separate strings that are sewn in the very back of the shorts. The good news is, there is no way for you to actually pull the string all the way through to where you have to feed it back through. The bad news is, if you pull too hard, you pull out one side and it can't be fixed. I am still giving 5 stars for the value and the fact that the fabric doesn't easily pull or looks bad. We order both medium for one family member and xxl for the other and they both fit true to size.

. Sherry, Michigan says

With these shorts you don't pay name brand prices nor features that you don't even need. . These are your simple, mesh, pocketed, athletic shorts with a draw string around the waist, made by a good manufacturer. . As well, i'm surprised at their durability. Many times i've rubbed these shorts against frayed wire rope, which you'd expect would tear them. Yet there somehow was no damage done to the mesh material after i carefully pulled them off of the wire rope.

S. Sarah, Poitou-Charentes

A little bigger to me. the logo is not too stable

V. Cindy, Derbyshire says

I bought the same size (2xl) and similar style of three brands of active mesh shorts with pockets: russell athletic ( champion (http://online store. Com/dp/b0036os6lw), and starter (found in-store at walmart). . I typically wear size 48 or 50 (48 is typically snug, 50 a tad loose). All three of these products advertise 2xl as fitting sizes 46-48. Due to the stretchiness, i found all three fit more forgivingly than my typical size, but otherwise were true to size. All three are very comfortable. . For length, the starter are the shortest (but not embarrassingly so), champion has a medium length, and russell comes just past my knee. . All three are slightly see-through (starter least so), but not enough so that anyone could see anything from a casual inspection, especially if you wear similar colors underneath. I got all dark colors (either navy or black), so ymmv with lighter colors. . Of the three, i prefer the fit of the russell athletic the most. Champion tends to slip down in the back, as does the starter to slightly a lesser degree. Because of this, with both the champion and starter i have to be very careful of the weight i put in the pockets; putting in my phone, wallet, and keys will make both brands quickly end up on the floor, whereas in the russell i had no trouble walking around carrying all of those items. I have not tried running with that much weight yet. I still like both the starter and champion enough to keep them, but i would buy russell next time instead.

. Donna, Worcestershire

Good fit and good length. Stops just around the knee for me and i'm 6 feet tall. I have a 32 inch waist and these fit nicely, not too tight but i'm not worried about them dropping. I like the softness of the material. The pockets are also in a good place so that if you're say lifting weights with your phone in your pocket you won't have to worry about anything falling out or getting in your way. I'll probably be buying more of these shorts in other colors soon.

Y. June, Limousin says

These shorts are comfortable and breathable. Thanks again online store prime for your great sales!

Q. Gloria, Suffolk says

I bought a size small for $13 and they fit me perfectly, i'm around 28"-30" waist. They stretch so i think i'd even be fine at a 32" waist. . They fit very comfortably, most of the time i don't even notice i'm wearing them which is a good sign. They didn't shrink noticeably any of the times they've been washed, and the color is staying true now 9 months after being purchased. I wear them quite often, i'd live in these types of shorts if i could. Very basic and they get the job done. The logo isn't obtrusively large, it's just there. I could do without the logo but it's no big deal. The shorts have a drawstring, it's effective but i never feel the need to use it, they fit fine as is. The pockets can hold my phone and even my 8" tablet and 7" gps. Not that you need to carry around a gps or tablet in your pockets, the point is the pockets are spacious and shouldn't have a problem fitting your phone and wallet. . These would be a steal at anything less than $10 but at $13 i'll still recommend them.

O. Garner, Haringey

I have had a pair of these without pockets in dark gray and they have lasted for years, probably 8 years now, without fail but i never leave the house with them due to the fact that they do not have pockets to carry essentials. I was very happy to find these now with pockets and i ordered a pair first in navy blue and then in black. The material is perfect and keeps you dry and comfortable. I have a 34" waist and the mediums fit me perfectly. Love the little pin holes that let your skin breathe but maybe some people would not like them but rest assured others definitely cannot see your privates if that's a concern to some. All i can say is that these have become my favorite shorts of all time and i hope champion keeps making these with the same features and quality for years to come. I will be buying more soon. A+

D. Powell, Ile-de-France says

The material is a bit thin. Quality is ok. Value is great! three stars for quality. Five stars for value. The shorts run large. I wear a 36" waist which is normally a size large. The large was way too big for me, although i kept them as sleepwear. I ordered a medium for a perfect fit. Bottom line - i do recommend these mesh shorts.

G. Lewis, Stockport

These are an excellent choice if you're looking for cheap, high-quality athletic shorts. These fit nice and snug around the waist, but they are a little bit shorter. I am 6'3" and these run to about 3 inches above my knee. I use these for volleyball and basketball. They are nice and breathable and haven't shrunk much at all. Highly recommend them.

. Rita, Newham says

I purchased these shorts to use for exercising at the local gym. The only thing i find odd is the string used to help keep the shorts up. The rubber waist band does the job, but the string insures these shorts don't fall down. I haven't cut them for fear of losing one end in the eyelet and being forced to dig my way through the canal of the waist band to fish the end out. So i try to tie the string the best i can, but i still feel it's a bit loose. I may just have to try to cut the strings and place huge knots at the ends. But, the color is great and the material is holding well. I lift and run in these shorts and so far they're doing well. I own three pairs now of this type and brand and i have no issues with any of them so far. For the price, i'd recommend them, but make sure you use either spandex or underwear underneath because these do not have a lining as some of the more expensive ones do.

K. Erin, Alaska

I love these shorts and for the money, personally feel they can't be beat. I've been buying these for years however the only reason i'm knocking one star off now and not giving it a 5 is that it seems as though they've gotten thinner in the material. Time will tell if they're as durable as the ones from the past but for now, i'll just assume it'll help my lower half breathe better!

. Meyer, New Hampshire says

Holds up well. Elastic waist band is snug enough to keep the shorts up, but not too tight. There's a drawstring but i never need it. The pockets are a good depth; just enough that my house key doesn't fall out. The shorts are also pretty light weight. They're not an ultra-light material or anything really high-level like that, but for cheap mesh shorts, they're definitely light enough to wear during a run on a hot day without feeling immediately overheated.

L. Guest, Sefton

My waist is a size 32-34 and this medium fits perfectly. I got 2 at the same time, one granite and one blue. Quality is what i would expect for the price. Purchased this because for some reason i have 6 other basketball shorts that do not have pockets. Needed pockets to hold my keys and phone when i go to the gym. I don't go running often, but when i do, i put my phone in one of those arm sweat band phone holders and only bring either my car or house keys with me. If you try to run with a bunch of keys in these pockets, good luck (especially if you're male because the keys will be swinging with a vengeance). Smaller pockets would be useless when i wear the shorts casually. I do not regret getting this. It's only been about a month of use, but hopefully it'll last a long time.

B. Marguerite, New Brunswick says

As an avid gym rat, i am always in need of good quality workout clothes/gear that doesn't break the bank. These are great workout shorts that fulfill both of those requirements. I bought a few pairs of these already and am very happy with them. They fit well according to the listed sizes for me and are very comfortable to wear whatever type of workout i'm doing. Great purchase!

N. Mahood, Arizona

These are good athletic mesh shorts; for activities, lounging, or on the go. The pockets are not as deep as i would have liked but are deep enough to carry my wallet and keys. The pockets are also not very sturdy as they are made of the same lightweight mesh materials. These are small gripes and should not affect comfort. I usually buy my shorts a size bigger as i like my shorts baggy. Even if you purchase at your regular fit these shorts should still be quite roomy. The length of these shorts came just passed me knees. Depending on body type they could come just above or at the knees. Light colored shorts such as the gold are slightly see through. I suggest buying solid gold boxers to wear underneath. Good product. Recommended.

C. Cassella, Kensington and Chelsea says

Good for the price. . As to the 2 major complaints i've seen:. . Pockets too deep - i don't see it, they are about the same as a more expensive pair i have. . Too sheer - i bought black, blue and red. I think the people complaining may have been sold knock offs. Shorts are lined with an opaque lining the same color as the outer layer. They do not seem to be sheer at all. Note that the outer layer without the lining would be pretty sheer. . I have not had them long enough to speak to longevity.

M. Taylor, Nebraska

Champion has hit a home run with these shorts. They are comfortable, breathable, true to size, and come at an awesome price. I purchased the maroon color because i need some variety from my usual black shorts at the gym. I am 5 7 and about 160 lbs. And found that medium fit me perfect, as my legs are a bit bigger from weight lifting. . The one and only thing that i would change about these shorts is the fact that the pockets hang really low on them. If you re using them for running and have a phone or other items in your pocket, they may swing around, which can be a nuisance. Other than that, these shorts are awesome, and i would highly recommend them. I can t wait to purchase more!

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Z. Campbell, Minnesota says

Needed a pair of red shorts for my red pants job. . Pros:. They're light and breath easily when running in them. They are the correct color red my work required. There is a drawstring to tie the overlarge shorts for smaller waists or if you lose weight. . Cons:. Pockets are really shallow, so i can't run with a cell phone in them per my job. Run big-i'm usually a large, but these are for someone with a 36 inch waist-buy a medium if you're a 34-35 incher like me. . Overall-i recommend these if you just need them for minor sports or lounging but if you're looking for something with deep pockets these won't work. If price is your concern, they are functional and half the price of underarmor.

. Elida, Nova Scotia

Great quality and very nice. Airy, good for bed time or working around the house shorts. Main problem is i am a 42" , these are 40-42 and i have a hard time keeping them on. I suspect large would be a better fit but those are 36-38. I would buy again but disappointed they run so big.

J. Lara, Dudley says

I tend to run 38 40 waist. I ordered 2x. They were a bit too loose. 3 stars b/c the elastic waist band is not all that sturdy/beefy. It is short in height and is thin. However, the material is thin which makes for a good breathing pair of summer shorts, just not your thickest jersey material.

M. Jacqueline, City of London

First off the good points: the shorts seem well made and are comfortable. No problems in workmanship for the most part (see below). . The bad: 1. The pair i got seems to fit a bit large. I take a 44 inch waist in pants, so i ordered a 2xl and they are a bit loose. That leads to bad point 2. The draw string stinks! it's very stretchy thin and flimsy. I tried replacing it with some para cord, but ended up hacking it up pretty good trying to get the new cord in. I've successfully replaced the draw strings in other types of shorts before fairly easily, but the way they're sewn into these made it impossible. I basically ruined the shorts for myself.

H. Guest, Croydon says

I'm 6'2" with 34 inseam and these shorts gets right above the knees. However, on 2 out of 4 that i own, the size-adjusting cord in the waist broke during laundry cycle, which is annoying. They become really loose and run the risk of falling unexpectedly. Obviously, you don't want that happening at the gym.

K. Alexia, Telford and Wrekin

I have used champion shorts quite a bit over the years and these are not as good as the others i have had. . There is no back pocket at all, i really miss the back pocket with zipper my other champion shorts have. The over size front pockets wrap around the outer side of my thigh so when i run, whatever is in the pocket bounces, even with just one car key (one very light key) the key bounces around all over the place when i run. It is distracting and also feels like you may lose whatever is in there. Running with a key fob no way, i don't run in these when i drive that car. . Also i am not sure on the size. In the description they claim to be longer, they are not longer but they are roomier/baggier, i suppose if you are thick in the thighs these might be worth a look but for me too baggy. . So they may still be okay to lounge in or for light work outs , for me they are not so good for running.

P. Sarah, Kansas says

I'm only giving three stars for the "granite" dark grey color. I had previously purchased the same brand and style of these shorts in both black and white and the material was soft mesh as expected; but these grey ones are very rough and hard. The color is good. They also actually they feel a slight bit more snug than their black counterparts that i also own and recently purchased from online store. Disappointed in the coarse nature of the fabric, hoping a few wash cycles will soften them up. But, like i said, i've only had this problem with this particular color (granite). Otherwise, i would rate higher and not have many complaints.

Y. Palmer, North Carolina

I have identical ones bought from sears and they are not as long and have nice side pin stripes. Very disappointed. Overall these are huge and baggy - except the waist which is so tight it leaves a red indentation. Bad buy - so i only use them indoors.

O. Dorine, Colorado says

Like some other people who've reviewed these, i discovered just a few steps into my first run in these shorts that the elastic just isn't doing its job. Fortunately, i also wear long, loose shirts when i run, so i had enough time to get to a point where i could do my best to tie them in place and get home. This was with the pockets empty, mind you - if i'd had even my keys in them, i doubt they'd have stayed on for more than a minute. . It's too bad, because they're comfortable for both running and sitting, but there isn't much point in buying shorts with pockets when you can't use the pockets, and there are competitors who've got this thing figured out (again, like some others, i had bought this and one pair of russell athletic shorts, and i'm getting more of the russells now), so i probably won't ever know when champion starts making shorts that stay up.

D. Josephine, Hartlepool

These are comfortable, but no joke, you can see through them, i'm talking outline of everything plus skin, so if you free ball it, everyone will know it and even if you wear underwear, it'll show right through. So good for the house but not in public.

C. Allen, City of Bristol says

I would say the fit was okay and as expected but i rated it somewhat small because it says "long" but it definitely was not the case. I didn't mind them being a bit shorter but not to the point i feel it could be "short shorts" if another inch or so were taken off. Be careful when ordering this. This is the second product i've used from champion and i have to say i am really disappointed in the direction the quality has gone. They don't last nearly as long as they did years ago and it seems they are using much cheaper quality material. I personally would suggest going with nike or some other sports apparel brand. Champion is not what it used to be.

. Jarvis, East Sussex

Something is not right with the measurements causing the material to bunch up. It's only the front side of the shorts and very annoying. For that reason i will not recommend or buy again.

B. Wells, Gateshead says

I expected the large would look larger and fit bigger . I am a muscular slim built person that always wore a large size in every shorts going on decades now : actually i have never gain any weight in 25 years . So this particular short maybe cut smaller than a usual large , i did not return the shorts because i can still wear it working out , no biggie .

. June, Sachsen-Anhalt

I bought two of these in medium, even though the size chart suggested a large. I had to send them back because they were too loose. I suppose the cut was correct and would have fit, but they barely held in place. The slightest tug would send them to my ankles. And remember the size chart said i should have ordered a large. I sent them back and ordered two in small. Small fit better at the waist but the overall cut made them too small, so those go back as well. Champion really should fit the waistband to have more "grip. " there's no reason a medium didn't hold securely at the waist when i was already going a size smaller than suggested. At $6. 00 a pop to return items to online store, i'm better off going to a sporting goods store to try stuff on in person.

I. Hurst, Middlesbrough says

So i ordered two colors - granite heather and athletic royal. It's weird. The athletic royal shorts are so soft and nice to the touch, but the granite heather has a waxy unpleasant feel to them. Same brand, totally different feel depending on the color. Strange. Also - these run large for sure. Long in the legs and large in the waist.

F. Powell, Staffordshire

Bought these for running but the fit is awkward for running. They are simultaneously too baggy and too clingy in various spots, and the drawstring is extremely long but becomes so thin when you stretch it to tie that you can never get them tied and tightened. I would recommend these for lounging/general use, but not for athletic use. Warehouse type retail stores have better running shorts available for $10 or so all the time.

V. Veronica, Oregon says

The perfect length. Had the tie come undone on one side and they immediately replaced the pair. Then it happened on the replaced pair and it fell past the return period. Don't buy - the ties are obviously poorly anchored. Go for a design that has the tie run through the entire hem of the waistband.

. Rita, West Virginia

Standard gym shorts, and if you're not picky about pockets, these will be fine. . The issue with the pockets is that they're not stitched to the front at all, so they can flop around behind your leg, which i personally find uncomfortable. . Aside from the pocket issue, i like these.

R. Clara, Georgia says

It arrived on time and was cheap, which is why i gave it 2 stars. The material feels like burlap that's been dipped in glass shards. Thin, but somehow coarse enough to sandpaper a rusty piece of metal to a smooth shine. . If it wasn't such a headache, i'd send them back, but it's not worth my time. Pay a little more and get something you'll actually use.

. Guest, Cumbria

I own two brands of mesh shorts, these champion shorts in maroon and several pairs of reebok's mesh shorts. Compared to the reeboks, these fit smaller and the pockets are bigger. The larger pocket could be a pro or con depending on what you are doing while wearing them. I found it to be a negative because i jog with my phone in my pocket and it swings so much it ruins it. Car keys do the same thing. I don't have that issue with the reebok shorts. These shorts sit in the drawer now. I really wanted to like these because i can't get the reebok shorts in maroon in my size. One other difference is that the waist band is not as tall as the reebok. These champion shorts are fine for going to the gym and lifting weights, or any running activity where you don't have anything in the pockets. They are lightweight and comfortable, and would be fine for lounging around the house on a hot day as well. . Mine easily endured running about a tenth of a mile with wildly swinging phone in the left pocket without any visible signs of wear. Your mileage may vary!

X. Lorenz, Wyoming says

Nothing special here. The fit is just right, and the ventilated fabric prevents overheating and extensive sweating. I've been using/wearing these shorts during my daily workouts for several months now. They aren't wearing out prematurely and they hold up well in the wash.

L. Shirley, Coventry

These shorts are not worth the savings. The string is completely garbage and doesn't comfortably tighten the waste. It feels like they are going to constantly fall off, even though they aren't because you had to pull the string as tight as it will possibly go in order to keep the shorts snug. It isn't a size issue, it's actually just a quality issue. . They're cheaply made and feel equally as uncomfortable wearing for any athletic activity. I suppose if you are buying these to sit in a chair and not move then they'll work for you. . This is after trying to give them the benefit of the doubt several times by the way. Even after a few washes as well, they actually seem to get worse as you wash them. . I'll be ordering a pair of higher quality shorts for working out after pressing the submit button here.

W. Jackson, Rutland says

Something as simple as a drawstring should not pull away from the shorts. Usually the drawstrings are connected in one big closed loop but for some reason, the design is flawed and the draw strings are tacked to the pants somewhere and mine broke away making the shorts useless. Mine are impossible to get repaired without extensive cutting, tacking and re-sewing. Obviously they are not tacked very well. These aren't expensive (i paid $10) but i usually expect shorts to last longer than 2 or 3 wearings. Bummer champion!

T. Juliana, Milton Keynes

I bout $6 starter shorts at wal mart that are far better than these. I bout these champions for lazin' around, i wouldn't dream of playing a sport with these. . Cons. - drawstring snapped very easily, just sitting down on the toilet. - pockets are floppy and dangle everywhere. - shorts are loose, medium is falling down off my probably 35" waist. - material is thin and bunches up, so the pockets can dangle out underneath like daisy dukes. . Pros. - nothing other than the drawstrings have snapped/ripped in the first week

N. Melissa, Reading says

I bought 3 pair of these and two of them have already broken. When i tighten the string around my waist and then work out in some way that puts pressure on that string, twisting or crunching, the string breaks. Instead of going all the way around, this train seems to just attach somewhere on the side and is ripped out of that seam under pressure. I have never had strings break and other shorts with a drawstring. I tried to restring them but the seam is closed halfway around and they cannot be restrung easily. I really like the material and it looks lovely has the shorts are laying around my ankles.

S. April, Herefordshire

The model in the picture is probably 6 2 . I am 5 9 and these shorts hang below my knees. If you re average height and want shorts that fit like the picture, these are not the shorts. If you want a long, oversized look these will get you there. They make great pajama/around the house shorts.

A. Finch, Yukon Territory says

While these shorts fit my son as expected and the material is breathable and soft, they are a bit too see through for his liking. If you wore running shorts underneath they would be fine, or even dark colored underwear. But my teenage son is a bit too concerned with being able to see through them and has therefore only worn them a few times. It is a shame that the material is thinner because they are a nice quality short. If you prefer mesh shorts then they probably won't seem any more see-through than other shorts. My son typically likes nylon solid style basketball shorts rather than mesh and so he wasn't anticipating the see through nature that these shorts have. I hope this helps in making your purchase decision. The shorts do fit as expected, arrived in time, and are a perfect length.

G. Pamela, Provence-Alpes-Cote dAzur

Runs a bit large (ordered the medium size, i'm 5'10). It comes down just below my knee which isn't a big issue but thought should be worth nothing. The larger issue is that it's incredibly sheer-put it up against a light source and it's essentially transparent. The material is incredibly comfortable which is the sole reason i'm not returning it. I may not feel comfortable wearing it to the gym but it'll be perfect for lounging around the house in.

. Tracey, Durham says

They're ok and i use them mostly as sleep shorts on hot days. The pockets are nice and fit my iphone 6s plus. The mesh feels good but i don't think the shorts look so style-ish. Maybe it's because of my body type - but i would not wear these if you're interested in showing off nice calves, biker leg muscles, etc.
