I only buy levi's 501's - ever. I bought these for when i work on the car and to lounge around the house. I think that these pants are more rugged than the levi's and are actually more comfortable to boot. One of the other reasons that i love these pants is the cargo pockets. When i need a place to put a socket or ratchet, it's much better than the levi's that i love so much. I find myself gravitating towards these pants for their comfort so much that i couldn't bring myself to do mechanic work in them and had to buy another pair. I highly recommend these pants if you are looking for a pair of rugged work pants. Carhartt men's cotton ripstop relaxed fit work pant Review (53553)

I bought two of these aug, 2015 after i believe someone else had got me a pair or something, and ever since i have been in love with them. My favorite part being the pocket configuration. The cell phone pocket, sizeable hand pockets, and the buttons on the pouches don't wear out like i've experienced with other pants/shorts. Speaking of shorts, i was quite excited when i found out carhartt makes the same style as shorts. Had to get two of those for summer. Anyway, i don't work construction or anything, but i am fairly active and they last about a year before getting pretty worn looking. But then again, that's with me switching only between the two for the most part. -. Rochelle

  • I love these cargo pants. They are rugged and the pockets are great. I will say that they run a little smaller than most of my pants. I usually wear a 42" waist, but i bought 44" and they are a little loose which is fine for me. Fortunately, online store makes returns a breeze.
  • Exceptional product from carhartt! i purchased these pants for work and needed something durable and comfortable. The pockets are roomy and actually usable for tools, my cell phone and are located in ergonomic places. I will definitely be ordering more of these pants. I am 6'8" and weigh 240lbs. The 36 x 36 were exactly the right fit and these are getting more comfortable with each wash.
  • Worked great until the "ripstop" failed today. I expected these to last more than five months being from carhartt but maybe that's only their american made product. These pants say made in nicaragua. Anyway, the point is, i'm disappointed. Maybe someone can point me in the direction of quality ripstop pants ?
  • I guess its my fault for the three star but i bought carhartt ripstop at local store and loved them for work. They only had one color so i bought this color online figuring they would be the same. These pants are way stiffer, not soft and flexible like my local purchase. I thought they were the same style i bought locally since they were the ripstop relaxed fit, but obviously they weren't. They would be great if you are working in the woods in the fall. They are very stiff, feel like they took a world war one canvas tent and cut it down into pants. Again, probably good for working in harsh elements but not bumming around town doing pickups and stopping at home depot. At least not for me.
  • Leg length perfect, waist much to small. 30 x 30. Returned without hassle, and quick turn around on refund. Ordered 32 x 30 and fit fine. Hate to give it 3 stars just because of the size. Giving 5 stars on the 32 x 30

Wrangler RIGGS WORKWEAR Men's Ranger Pant

This is the second pair of riggs workwear by wrangler (in slate and loden) pants i have purchased for my guy. He's a land surveyor and works outside every day. He's also a very active outdoors-man. Hiking, camping, climbing, shooting, etc. For reference, he is 6ft 3in, slim build. Purchased these in 32wx34l and both fit the same. My guy loves all of the pockets on these pants. Prior to discovering these pants, we regularly purchased him "carhartt men's washed duck work dungaree utility pant", which he really liked also, but these pants have more pockets and seem slightly sturdier. They are reinforced at the knees and around the tops of pockets so that he can hang his tape measure, hammer, or whatever other manly piece of equipment he can get his hands on. They were quite stiff when we first received them but have softened up over a few weeks of wash & wear. My only issues with these is consistency in the manufacturing. The loden pair had 5 belt loops, while the slate pair had 7. We have sewn the 2 missing belt loops on the back of the loden pair so that they fall comfortably with a belt on them. As long as the pants come with all 7 belt loops, i have one happy guy!

Riggs workwear ranger pants are ready for any job. One of our most popular work pants. Roomy side cargo pockets with flaps and concealed snaps hold lots of stuff.

Wrangler Riggs Workwear Men's Ranger Pant (wra3w060br) FAQ.

These britches are the bomb. They have a double layer of rip stop fabric from mid-calf to mid thigh. They have cargo pockets which have their own small piggy-back pockets. The pants are generously reinforced internally with a gusset around the tops of the pockets, feature a hammer loop and a leather pad at the right front pocket to resist wear from a tape measure (although that's not where i choose to stick a tape measure. I am very impressed with the value these pants present and plan to get some more in the other colors. Since i posted this review, i bought some more of these on-line. One came missing a belt loop. I contacted the manufacturer, who immediately sent an email return shipping label. It was about three weeks and the repaired/replaced (can't tell which) britches arrived. Very satisfied. -Notice from M. Watson, Bremen

I love these pant! i only put them down as a 4 star was due to the size being a little bit snug then normal size. I own several pairs of these that i have purchased from retail stores and the pair i order from online store fit just a little smaller. Since these pants don't have a lot of give in the fabric and really stiff, an inch in size difference can make them feel really tight around the waste. Other then that these are some of the best cargo work pants i have ever owned. I would even match them up with my duluth fire hose pants. They hold up really well to all types of wear and tear, especially any type of construction or labor type work. They hold up a lot better then the original riggs that were much thinner and did not hold up to wear or wash. If your looking for a great pair of work pants that also look great and hold up to wear and tear, then riggs workwear are a great pair of pants!

- H. ErinWe bought these in 30x34 for our rapidly growing son. It has really been hard to find pants that fit him, but he immediately loved these. He said they are really comfortable, and he thinks they look really cool (so do we). I'm retired military, and these are made with the rip-stop fabric that was used for uniforms in the late 90s and early 00s. I was an engineer, and i often worked with barbed wire, concrete, jagged metal, and all kinds of other things that should have torn my uniforms to pieces, but the uniforms made with this material always lasted far longer than they should have. You might have small tears and rips all over, but it was very rare to see these with long tears. Once it is washed a few times, this stuff gets very comfortable, and it's fairly breathable. These pants use a double layer of material in key areas (knees), and i think my son's far more likely to outgrow these than outlast them.

These pants are awesome! i'm a boiler tech and they are a professional yet laid back look. My thoughts:. . Material feel. -the fabric is a thin yet strong feel and it doesn't seem as if just anything will tear at it. The thinner feel will be great for spring and hotter days when i'm stuck in a boiler room. Double knee. -i will definitely need knee inserts as the thinner feel is very apparent when working on the knees. The knee is holding up so far. Pockets. -pocket fabric is very rugged and that is one of the reasons i went for this brand. My previous work pants would eventually tear a hole in the front pant pockets leaving the pants useless or needing repair (i never repair so i don't know if it is easy). This is mostly caused by my keys. -i carry my galaxy note 2 and my android max work phone in the same front pant pocket. Very roomy. -i am very impressed with the right side pocket leather/leatherette patch. This works great to secure my pocket knife and measuring tape. It also makes clipping to it really easy. Leg pocket/cargo pockets. -the leg pockets are more of a cargo pants feel but that isn't a bad thing since these don't sag with things in them as standard cargo pants would. They fit my needs but may not be a good fit for others that are used to the carhartt setup. Pant/hammer loop. -i don't often use the pant loop so i cannot comment on it on a daily use perspective. I have read that it doesn't fit many pipe wrenches though. I haven't tried that but will and update. Belt loop. -belt loops are roomy, for those that use larger than standard they should work. Length. -sometimes when i order pants with my inseam measurements they come a bit longer or shorter. These came perfect and work very well with my work boots and even tennis shoes when i change after work. Fit. -they are more of a loose comfort fit. Just use a belt to keep them secure when loaded down. . Conclusion. -i typically wear carhartts and carhartts are good pants but i don't always like the feel and fit of them. I wanted more of a comfortable yet durable pair of pants but i found out quickly that it's hard to find all the features you want from work pants. When i ordered the riggs workwear pants i expected everything as described and got exactly that. The material, build and fit won me over and i will be transitioning my work pants to riggs. I love carhartt and will continue to buy their bibs but as far as work pants i am now a riggs man. I say try a pair and i think you will agree that they are great pants.

Carhartt Men's Loose Fit Five Pocket Canvas Carpenter Pant B159

Might as well call these pants bullet proof. Rugged, durable, and sexy as hell while doing mainly shit around the house. Owned a couple pairs like this that i still wear today, and those pairs have to be over 10 years old. Those carharts still haven't faded, torn, or shrunk. . Solid purchase and will continue to buy. . Please send me some more ; )

Carhartt Men's Loose Fit Five Pocket Canvas Carpenter Pant B159 (b159mus) FAQ.

These are a little lighter weight than the original carhartt- so they are great for warmer weather but still the durable rugged material. -Notice from X. Nielsen, Basse-Normandie

Every pair of jeans i own is a 40 waist (which for me is about a half size to big) and i like the way they fit. I tried these on at a local store and i couldn't even fasten the 40 waist. They didn't have a 42 in the store so i ordered a 42wx32l from online store and they fit me exactly how i would have expected the 40 to fit. From the sounds of other reviews it appears to me that the closer you get to a 30 waist the more true they fit. So, choose wisely. Comfortable light material and they seem to be constructed very well. The canvas really just feels like thin denim. The real reason i'm reviewing these pants is to let my fellow "big men" out there know that if your like me and have bigger muscular thighs and have a hard time finding truly loose fitting pants, look no further. I have tried on dozens of supposedly loose fitting jeans from every brand imaginable with nearly all fitting me like 80's style 501s (or rodeo style wranglers for the country folks). These are the baggiest pair of pants i have owned since me beloved silver tab baggy and lucky 48 "fat boy fit" jeans were discontinued. Now if carhartt would just make this cut in a standard 5 pocket jean with some nice dark washes i be set for life. I do feel compelled to warn all the slim guys out there that, your little birdie legs will probably be "swimming" in these jeans and i'd go with carhartts "relaxed" fit instead. (a little side note to the big men. I have also found that wrangler 20x style 33 "extreme relaxed" jeans also fit me and my bigger thighs well)

- . ValenciaThe best feature of these pants is the ability to put an iphone 7 plus in the lower right side pocket. I wish more manufacturers would make pants like these.

Great pant for casual dress work and play. The hammer handle is fairly understated so they look nice and wear well.

The F.A.Q. for Carhartt Men's Cotton Ripstop Relaxed Fit Work Pant (53553)

These pants were the first carhartt product i ever purchased, and they remain my favorite pair of pants. They re everything i ve wanted in a pant. They have the right fit, they re made of solid materials and quality stitching, they have a perfect amount of pockets, they do not fade quickly, and when they do, they look even better. Carhartt makes quality products.

First off i'm particular about the pants i wear. They have to be just right you know? well i first found a pair of these at sears and tried them on and i've bought four pairs in all the colors since. These are the only kind of carharts that i wear for work. I work in sanitation. I bend down and pick up trash and a lot of other things all day and these feel like they won't ever rip. There have been a lot of dirt and liquids spilled on these pants and there are no stains whatsoever. Also the pockets on the sides of the legs are awesome. In my left cargo pocket i keep my wallet and in the right i keep my iphone . In the long slim pocket on the right side is a good place to keep a slim knife. For reference i keep a case sodbuster in that one. I've worn these pants for almost a year for work and recreational use ( they're that comfortable ) and they hold up superbly well. The only thing that could be a problem for you is that the color fades after about six months of use. And i mean heavy use. Its no problem to me though. They still look great. Lastly get a size smaller than you usually wear. I normally wear a 36x32 and in these i get 38x32. Hope i helped a fellow worker. I highly recommend these to the fullest extent !

Best carhartt men's cotton ripstop relaxed fit work pant (53553) in review

I have 4 pairs that i have been wearing monday- saturday for over 2 1/2 years. I'm up and down all day, on my knees wrestling a wide variety of beasts with sharp teeth and nails. The color has faded slightly but there are no holes or frayed edges. Toughest pants i've ever owned. More important, they are comfortable and look great all day, every day.

Relaxed fit was more of a regular fit in the thighs. Bought 33w 29l which usually short length relaxed give ample room. The waist was to correct size though. Good solid pants . If you are a 33 or 32 recommend going up the 1 size.

Y. Elanor, Cheshire

I bought a pair of these along with wrangler riggs. These are great. I prefer the riggs slighter better because the hammer loop is on the right side on those pants. I also like the cargo pocket arrangement slightly better on the riggs. But, these pants have held up to the punishment just as well as the riggs. They fit as expected 34x32. They are comfortable and clean well. I work in logging, so i don't go easy on them.

R. Kellie, Languedoc-Roussillon says

I really like these pant. I can wear the same pair multiple days in a row to work as an electrician. Dirt is hidden well and i can actually brush/beat the dirt and dust off/out of a pair of these pants. Things that would stain normal jeans seem to come out with in a wash or two. I also really enjoy having the cargo pockets they make a world of difference when having to carry objects and hardware or in others words tools and wire nuts. . I'm fairly hard pants and these seem to holding up ok. One pair is doing a bit better than the other. On the other, i starting to notice wear beginning around the front pocket where it appear i caught the pants on something but i sincerely cant remember having done so. Its not entirely out of the question that is the case though and i just didnt realize it. . Also make sure your up. I ordered a 32x32 and they are tight and a little bit short. Normally i'm a 30-32 waist, and 30-32 length depending on the brand. I should have ordered a 33-34w 34l. If you can i would strongly recommend trying a pair on and seeing what fits you best.

. Gilmore, Rutland

These pants are terrific. I get a lot of looks because the quality is apparent. I love the pockets and have learned what does best in what pocket. It has a real nice fit and is accurate to the size i get at the mall. I got the green and the grey and they are both a great fit and colors are very nice. Colors don t run in the wash, cause i washed them 4 times before wearing them. I have to bend and stoop often and carry cutters, pens, phone, glasses, car key fob and notebook. Plenty of room, pockets aren t to baggy and the pants keep there shape after getting a workout every day. I don t have to wear my blue jeans and i no longer come home with holes and tears. I am not paid or compensated in any way for this review.

U. Meyer, Michigan says

Have worn these work pants for over three years and i can't say enough to tell you how comfortable, and versatile they really are. Being a inspector on large scale projects you have to carry extra equipment without feeling like a pack mule. The multiple pockets allow for freedom of movement and still have the necessities with you. I'll keep wearing these until i retire. Great product.

P. Rhonda, Bexley

So - i love these pants, but there is a reason for the star removal on the review. . The good: perfect fit. These fit great, no issues. They're tough, keep on rockin and have the ability for knee pads without even showing it. . The bad: 2 things:. 1) they have a "swipe/swipe" sound when walking around fast, similar to a "swish/swish" sound of the workout clothes. 2) there are all kinds of little pieces of threads that hang out everywhere on these things. On the pockets, the knee pad areas, the cuffs, - everywhere. While i know these are great pants, i'm disappointed to see all these threads hanging off everywhere so i have to trim up my own pants. I've done research on this rip-stop material - it's not that hard to make your own pants that "appear" to be better quality.

A. Suzanne, Sandwell says

These pants will fill a much needed ability to carry items when we hike the wilderness. With many spacious pockets that can carry the necessities of comfort and survival. There are a few important items i do not trust to a pack or bag that can become separated in a fall or other event. However. Outside of the workman looking for a heavy duty pair of pants, or the outdoors-man looking for the same. These pants may not be for you. The carhartt ripstop relaxed fit work pants are made tough. They will last a very long time and serve you well. They are just heavy, stiff and a bit uncomfortable to wear casually. Maybe after a bunch of washings they will soften over time, but i fear they are not to be confused with a comfy pair of jeans.

F. Patton, Calderdale

These are by far the most tough and versatile work pants i've ever owned. I'm a professional brewer and a lot of my job involves climbing behind and on top of tanks and keeping three or four tools on my person at all times. These have just the right number and size of pockets that keep your tools and most importantly - your knife - incredibly accessible. I ripped a small hole in the seat of my first pair two days after i got them. If these were normal work pants, they probably would have ripped all the way down the leg, but because of the ripstop, i was able to use them for two more days before i even noticed the hole. On top of being highly versatile, they are much more flattering than the typical carhartt double front dungarees i used to wear. I always felt like i was swimming in those, but these are cut much better and i don't feel like an idiot wearing them. I highly recommend these to anyone who uses multiple tools and needs easy access to them without the hassle of wearing a tool belt.

D. Rita, Wigan says

Being 6ft 4in tall and have been wearing pants 34x36 for over a decade now, these were a bit small in the mid section. I wont be needing a belt for these. Material feels good and strong and the relaxed fit is nice after wearing these at work for ten hours. If you want good quality work pants, these are them. Just get a size bigger in the waist than normal

T. Lara, Suffolk

These were pretty much what i expected. Size 36x36 was maybe a little bigger than expected, but not baggy or too big, with a belt. I think i am 35 waist, but couldn't get 35x36 and wanted them long. . Bought them for a missions trip to jamaica. Worked in the heat & humidity 4 days. Cotton fabric breathes well. Protected legs from mosquitos & poison vines. And when my buddy's sawzall bounced off a pvc pipe and the blade hit my leg, the pants did not even get a scratch. Nice! . . Front of legs are double material from mid-thigh to mid-shin, so knee is covered well. . Haven't washed them, so don't know if they will shrink or not. . Pockets are great. Snaps work well. . Love these pants!

S. Nicole, Aquitaine says

These are possibly bullet-proof, against small bullets like . 25 acp, anyway. Heavy canvas like a tent could be built with. They do run a trifle large; the "relaxed fit" is literal. The only aspect to critique is "made in nicaragua". But carhartt does seem to be offering a lot of domestic-made garments, and still sets a high mark for durability, wherever they are made.

L. Guest, Tower Hamlets says

These are hands down the best cargo pants i own. They are made incredibly well and the pockets are set up perfectly for my needs. The knife clip cutout in the pocket is ideal with its angled cut and reinforced padding. The two open slots on the front of the bottom cargo pockets are great to slide a flashlight into, and for me, a pencil style screwdriver (the stanley one you can get here on online store). . I used to wear the other style carhartt shorts/pants (forget which style) but when i found these ones with the angled and padded cutout in the pockets for a knife, and the setup with the cargo pockets. I switched over. Highly recommend. . Also, i love the fact that the cargo pockets are button and not velcro.

X. Wade, North Dakota

Relaxed fit isn't what they are but carhartt quality shines through. These trousers feel well built. The seams are tight, the snaps click perfectly, and coworkers have asked me, "have you lost weight? ". I will definately be a repeat customer.

J. Laura, Missouri says

These are my favorite work pants. Comfortable and extremely durable. I abuse them when doing all kinds of chores on my acreage. Clearing brush, cutting down trees, splitting wood, all types of tractor work, welding and working on my truck. All of those farm tasks that will tear up a pair of jeans in no time. I nicked these pants a few times with my chainsaw (i know, i should use chaps) and once on a barbed wire fence. There are small holes in those areas, but they don't spread. The rip-stop works perfectly. One drawback is they can get pretty hot in the summer. One of the snaps on the leg pocket doesn't work right, but its' not a big deal for me. They seem to fit true to size. I plan to buy more of these in the future.

Z. Sandra, Bedfordshire

Firstly, the online store models are missing 2 belt loops customarily found to the right and left of the middle rear loop. This is very disappointing, however, i am still giving 5 stars and here is why:. The material. Something is different than what i ordered directly from carhartt. The online store material is just a bit thicker and feels of a much higher quality cotton than the carhartts. The fit. I am an avid mma aspirant and so as a pre-qualifier my waist stays very fixed at 33 inches. That said, the carhartts i ordered directly are 32/32 and fit very loose. Vanity sizing for men! lol. Anyway, these online store models are 30/32 and are the best fitting off the rack pants i have ever worn. I had originally ordered 2 pair of black, of course. But everything has changed now. I am ordering 6 more pair. I am not taking any chances as carhartt has discontinued this particular model and replaced it with garbage. If you are reading this, understand that this is your final opportunity to get the best. Pants. Ever.

O. Smith, Medway says

My favorite everyday pants. Fit and finish is perfect for me. Carhartt quality. Plenty of nicely designed pockets. Double front provides a place for knee pads which i think is a great design and a must have for me.

G. Candy, Bath and North East Somerset

Great light weighted cargo pants. I bought a similar one but of different model and in khaki colour. One note, you must try out in person of possible first before buying online as every model is of different cutting, don't know why the cutting is so different from model to model. Hence the 4 stars. This model is tough as nails . Almost like a heavy duty 5. 11 type of pants. Pretty cool actually.

H. Anonymous, Arkansas says

I used these to work around the house. Did a week of work on my backyard concrete slab and they got beaten up. 4 months of regular washing and a little scrubbing and all the stains and paint speckles are gone. The fabric is still in good condition and the color, mostly, is holding up well, considering the abuse. The pockets still maintain their shape and stay close to the leg and the fabric has softened and relaxed a bit. When i bought them they'd stand on their own. Since april, i've been using them as my dirt bike pants. They might outlast my new favorite sport.

V. Veronica, Mississippi

Most comfortable jean of this type i have worn. The actual weight of the jean is light, but the material is tough! this pair has been washed four times, and they seem to launder well. The size seems to be true. I regularly wear wrangler jeans. 33x34. The carhartt waist is only slightly bigger, which for me is perfect. I ordered the carhartt with a 32" inch inseam, since i won't be wearing them with cowboy boots, and that length is just right over hunting or hiking boots. Two complaints. 1-the cargo pocket is too tight against the leg; 2- the snaps. Why carhartt doesn't use velcro instead of all the snaps is beyond me. However, i realize that is a personal preference. Overall, i love wearing them. Even with the two minor negative comments, i have rated them with 5 stars.

Q. Palmer, Vermont says

Well forget about them ripping! theres a little too much going on with the pockets and all. If they kept them like basic cargo pants that would be great. Still a quality pair of pants ! they went crazy with the anti rip

. Noguera, Alabama

Bought a pair for my son who is a solar installer and electrician's apprentice. He loves them! . . They are well made, durable, wash & dry well, have loops and pockets for some tools - and most of all, he says they are comfortable. . So i bought him two more pairs in different colors.

K. April, Alberta says

Snaps for main cargo pockets jingle as you walk, kinda annoying but i that happens with every snap-based pocket system i've tried. . More space in front pockets than my last pair of ripstops, but not too much that they snag on handles or anything. . Wish the mallet loop was on the other side, bigger than it needs to be. . Back pockets are too flat to use with large wallet. . Material isn't as scratchy as the last pair i ordered either.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

. Colleen, Hackney says

Not like any other carhartt pants that i am familiar with. Have snaps on the front pockets and the outside open pocket too small for modern cell phones. I personally will never buy this model of carhartt again.

S. Cortney, Alaska

I've purchased this style of carhartt pants from local stores before, so i knew what to expect. But the ones online store is selling seem to be factory seconds. . -one one pair, the snap on the outer pocket over the right cargo pocket is only half there. So there is nothing to snap to. . -the slot right next to that has no stitched separator. The stitching is there, but it doesn't attach to the material behind it. Whatever you put in that pocket will slide all around in there and can be difficult to get out. This defect appears on all the ones i purchased at online store for me and my co-workers. This defect does not appear on the other 4 pairs of the exact style i've purchased in the past from local stores.

L. Sheila, Reading says

Can't use these for work as the pockets are too tight. I will stick to bellow pocket from now on.

X. Julie, Newham

I'm out on the fence still as far as the fabric goes. I leaned over the tailgate on my truck like i have numerous times before and they ripped right by the zipper fly. Did the hole get bigger? nope. I just seems like the material is a little weak. . I love the layout of the pockets, but as someone else stated, you can't stuff them because they don't have the material to let them expand. I can assure you that the front pocket above the left knee is a great place for a cellphone (razrmaxx) and it doesn't pop out. . Update 2013-10-28: well it didn't take long and the hole kept spreading. I've worn ripstop pants before and never had a hole spread (let alone like this one). So after 7 months and about 30 times wearing them they need to be replaced. As much as i like my carhartt jacket, i dislike these pants. I'm looking elsewhere for better ripstop and more room from a crotch gusset for better maneuverability.

F. Janice, Maryland says

Great idea poor execution. I have been forced to buy these every 3 or 4 months because of the taint area ripping apart. Not sure if will purchase these again. I know i have an odd body type with larger than normal thighs but this relaxed fit is still not sufficient. Why is there no such thing as husky anymore?

K. Ruff, Bradford

I absolutely love these pants. The khaki seem a little larger than the other colors. I will continue to buy more of these. The side pockets are perfect for wallets phones small tools etc. They are the perfect work pants. The problem is the crotch. They wear out way to soon no matter what size i get. I've worn out three or four of them in the last couple of years. Once was real embarrassing when i bent over and they ripped wide open . If you could fix that i would give a great review!

Y. Barbara, California says

These are fine pants but i wasn't totally aware that they were double front when i bought them. They're a bit warmer than i'd like. The fit is good, but some of the quality is less than perfect. I don't have anything big to complain about, but there are a whole lot more loose threads on the seams of these pants than i would expect. It is no big deal, i can just cut them all off, but they're brand new and i would have hoped a bit more care was taken when they were made.

H. Valencia, South Dakota

I bought 2 pair. One pair is shorter than the other with the same labeling.

G. Fabian, Doncaster says

My boyfriend is an electrician and carhartt's are his usual go-to. He already had this same particular style, so i knew exactly what size and look he wanted for his birthday; if i'm not mistaken, he has an identical pair, just in a different color. I'm not sure if the size we were sent were mislabeled, but the new jeans of the same size were very small in the waist. It's just nuts how the same pair of pants are so dramatically different in their sizing.

N. Edna, Northamptonshire

I'm a long time user of carhartt men's cotton ripstop relaxed fit work pants. The sizing is correct but i'm starting to become unsatisfied with the less than stellar longevity of the fabric. If you perform real work and wash these frequently, they will fade faster than expected and the integrity of the fabric will break down prematurely. I will continue to purchase these pants but i'm actively looking for a replacement manufacturer. I'm starting to think carhartt is taking advantage of a solid customer base by going cheap to compete with lesser brands. I will pay more for better, when i find it and i will because that's how the market works.

. Elizabeth, Kentucky says

I bought the exact same size and exact same style previously in a different color and loved the way they fit. Unfortunately i had to return these because the fit was totally different and much looser in the seat and legs

E. Susana, Nebraska

These run extremely small. Purchased them for my husband who wears a 36x34 in everything from jeans, to dress slacks to the other 2 pairs of carhartt work pants we've purchased elsewhere and these would not even fasten. We gave them to our son instead who usually wears a 32 and they fit him

W. Beale, Sachsen-Anhalt says

These are used for work so i have my phone in my pocket - same spot in all my work pants. These are the only ones where my phone has made a hole! so it s not a rip but how out of all my clothes are these the only one that have a hole from a iphone! ? but the fit is good long enough for a 6 6 man

V. Emma, Rutland

Ever since carhartt started outsourcing to other countries, their quality has gone downhill. Sizes are messed up (you can order one size and it fits great. Re-order a year later and holy smokes. Stuff doesn't fit at all). They also just don't last anymore. I know they say they have to outsource to stay competitive but my gosh, they are seriously sacrificing quality. I'm going to find another clothier now. I'm just done since they don't listen. Excuses are for the weak.

U. Noguera, Lincolnshire says

The pants are arranged fine and wear fine. The knee pad insert pockets built in are great when kneeling on concrete but i have problems with them that keep them from my favorites pile. The knees are cut to tight for the cargo pockets if you want to put a cell phone or tools in them. The back pockets are smaller and higher than most carpenter pants. Also, no hammer loop made onto a pair of pants that i have ever owned has been worth the material. The hammer's handle unerringly hits in the bend of the knee when kneeling down. The carhartt jeans are much more comfortable, and duluth fire hose work pants are superior work pants.

Q. Eleanor, Midi-Pyrenees

The fit wasn't quite right and the product was very thin - which is the point of ripstop, but was thinner than other carhartt products i have.

B. Rochelle, Rhode Island says

For nearly $50 a pair, the fit is simply terrible. I normally wear a 34" waist and ordered the 36" based on reviews of being to small. The waist fit was okay, but the legs were too small in the thighs and parted the boys. I sent those back and tried the 38" waist. These, the thighs and south park are fine, but now it feels like wearing clown pants. Most likely these will be going back.

P. Harrison, Devon

Nice pants, i own tons of carharrt. Look good too, however. Rip-stop? huh, that's a joke. I have the thinner version of work pants and they haven't ripped, lasted longer than these. Thought there was some sort of guarantee, but carharrt doesn't want to know. These should be called rip-start! more small tear holes than any pants i ever owned.

A. Sally, Ealing says

Not very roomy compared to carhart jeans. I would call these more of a tailored fit, which makes the pocket space hard to use. Add the fact that the right pocket ends down at the crook of the knee, anything you carry will rub the tender inside of your knee raw. Any kneeling means you must grab the pant-leg and pull it up so you don't bind on the way down. Sadly these would be intolerable at $20, and definitely not worth the $50 to get them to the doorstep.

D. Lindsey, Hampshire

First off, these pants are are not comfortable for me by any means. I wear a 31x32 and i was extremely surprised to find out that these cargo pants fit me like a pair of skinny jeans! you can't hardly put anything in the pockets due to how tight they are around the thigh area. For reference, i do work out but my legs are not ridiculously huge. The pants look good, i will give them that but it's laughable that a pair of carhartts (of all brands) would just about cut the circulation off to your legs every time you squat down or lift your leg. The back pockets are coming un-stitched at the tops and the right lower outer side pocket has a significant rip in it after just a week of putting a torpedo level in it (a large factor in that would probably be the tightness of the pockets as well). In conclusion, these pants are not for you if you have average to large muscular legs. If you have skinny legs and most of your pants fit baggy at the thighs, these may work for you.

C. Maria, South Gloucestershire says

I have worn carhartt pants exclusively for nearly five years and buy them 99% of the time from online store. Always worn the same size. Bought this pair with other styles all in the same size. This style was far too small. Couldn t even get them on. Returned for a couple sizes bigger. Ordered the size that the size chart said i should get. Far too big. Tried to replace them with an inbetween size. Online store has since decided to screw me, won t give me my money back so i can go buy pants in person and won t issue online store credit for two more weeks so i can t even just order a new size. So i m looking at over a month long process to get pants that might fit. Never had such back luck with online store or carhartt.

Z. April, Merton

I normally wear a 34 waist in every pair of paints i own ranging from jeans to work pants to dress pants. These pants are great, but as with the dungaree pants, they're about 2" smaller in the waist than the advertised waist size. I should have known this since i had the same experience with the dungaress when i bought four of them a few years ago. I'm just not used to having to order a 36"w when purchasing pants. Get your sizing correct carrhartt!

J. Rhonda, Sachsen says

Carhart snaps are garbage. Saltwater rots them out quickly. I spent 10 minutes in the water, next day the pocket snaps where corroded shut. I had a similar problem with a welding shirt, all the snaps ripped right out. These pants are like sandpaper. The bottom corner of the leg pocket digs into my kneecap. I didn't get them broken in before the snap issue. I'm not interested in putting them on again.

R. Anonymous, Thurrock

Carhartt is a trusted brand. My husband works construction. I ordered the 33 and when it arrived he could barely get them on. I measured with my sewing tape and indeed they were about 30-31 and half inch. Had to return. They cost too much to just keep. We love carhartt but this one was a sure miss :(

O. Russell, Sandwell says

These 9ants are cut entirely differently than all my other relaxed fit carhartt pants. No matter how they are marked they are not relaxed fit. They do not have the room anywhere that my other carhartt pants do. And even the waist istighter than my others. They are a quality built pair of pants, they look good,

T. Isabel, Southend-on-Sea

Carhartt used to make truly quality products, but they've gone the way of so many outfits these days. All fluff and no substance. I purchased these at the same time i purchased wrangler riggs wear, which are still going strong. The carharts'. Well, they just got cut up and tossed in the rag bin due to a huge tear in the seat. F. Y. I. , i wore these at work, and this isn't the only product marketed by carhartt i own or have owned. Like these pants, the coats aren't as heavy/ stout as they used to be and seem to be shorter, (don't cover the small of my back. ). You know, sorta like those crappy t-shirts you can buy a walmart that after the first washing they fit like a baggy half shirt. By the way the wrangler are cheaper to boot. Get the wrangler's.
